Beyond the Nightmare of Life

A/N: Before I begin I would like to apologize for the 2 month wait. School completely drained me and by the time I was actually going to post I lost my flash drive, which is still missing. After that I decided that I would take a break. Along with that issue I am creating a new series that I hope to get published soon and am actually almost done with it! E3 was also a huge distraction and now here we are with July 8th upon us. So, once again. I'm sorry, and please enjoy this chapter. Don't worry, I'll update the other stories too.

Chapter Eight - And the Hunt Begins...

Edward stared at the man, sweat pouring down his face. He hoped that Sieza's little costume had actually worked. He gulped before me spoke, but before any words could come from his shaky mouth, Winry spoke for him. "Sorry, my brother is a really shy person. ever since he lost his arm and leg in a train accident. My name is Winny, and this is Eddie. He likes to be called Ed for short."

Simultaneously, Sieza and Ed went into an eased state as Muston smiled at them. Sieza's mother motioned for them to join the two at the table.

"So," Muston asked chewing and slowly swallowing his food "Where are you two from?"

"We're from Rush Valley. We moved there after the accident. It took my mother's life. I shielded my sister so she wasn't injured at all. After going there she decided to study Auto-mail. I wanna be a State Alchemist some day, so I study alchemy."

"You both seem like you have very interesting lives. So what brings you here?"

Ed sighed softly, this guy was asking way too many questions and honestly it was getting very hard to lie. He quickly eyed Winry, signalling that it was her turn to come up with another lie.

"We were passing through to go visit our grandmother. We decided to stop here and rest but it seems like there is an Alchemist killer on the loose." she said nervously.

Muston nodded, "Yes, his name is Edward Elric. He killed his brother and a Colonel. He is truly evil and must be brought down."

"Yeah," as Ed spoke, Sieza and Winry could see the hurt in his eyes "People like that just shouldn't exist."

He really wanted to tell him, tell him that he wasn't the murderer. That he would never kill his little brother, or a man that he saw as his father. As much as he hated to admit it, he cared for Mustang. He was the closest thing he had had to a father, and now...he was gone.

Just as they had all finished eating, there was a loud knock on the door. It stunned all three of the children, Sieza's mother couldn't help but ask what had them all on the edge. None of them responded. Her mother and Muston stood from the table and approached the door. Ed watched, and when the door was fully opened they saw a young woman in a military uniform. His heart raced, he felt like he was going to pass out. Both Winry and Sieza felt tension rise within them, but they still came nowhere near to how nervous Edward was. This woman had scarlet hair and green eyes. But glasses covered the rage filled inside them.

"Muston! What the hell are you doing over this woman's house?! We needed your ass back at the station! The search is about to begin. Abyss and Hawkeye are heading to the house right now!" the woman snapped.

"My apologies First Lieutenant Ekken..." his voice held slight sarcasm in it, but Ekken was in the mood to over look it. He reached and kissed Sieza's mother on the hand. As she blushed, Sieza's face turned green. "It was nice meeting you all. Especially you ma'am. If you ever need anything come to me and I shall gladly come to your aid."

Muston quickly leaped out of the door, giving his last farewell to the beautiful lady.

As she closed the door, Sieza stared at her "I hope you know what a womanizer is...because that man...that man right there, is the definition of one!"

Ed and Winry couldn't help but nervously laugh.

After the drama had calmed down, they all continued upstairs. Ed had been silent for a long time and Winry had been nervous about him. She had no idea what was going on in his mind. But it wasn't wonderful at all. He constantly continued to hear Mustang and Alphonse's voices in his head. This Fukai...he had to be brought down. He would pay for taking them away from him. But...what was...what was he going to do...after he cleared himself of not being their killers?

"Ed," he suddenly heard Winry spoke. She also got the attention of Sieza. Curiosity filled their faces as her face brightened. He instantly knew that she had an idea. And it was an idea...that would help them clear his name.

"I gotta idea..."

~ The Nightmare House ~

Hawkeye covered her nose. The smell of blood over took her completely, making her eyes water and heart stop. She would do anything, anything not to know that it was Mustang's blood. Armstrong helped her, trying to comfort her. Even he hadn't been the same since Mustang and Alphonse had died. Havoc walked ahead of them, taking in the musty room. This place looked horrid.

*CRUNCH* *RIP*

Havoc looked down. Underneath his shoe was yet another paper. He reached down and picked it up. His eyes skimming through the paper.

You won't ever find me. You won't ever find me. I've won the game. I've WON THE GAME! You'll be lucky enough to even see their faces again. I'll show you what a real alchemist can do. You are all so clueless. All of you...

Havoc picked up the piece of paper he ripped off.

...think you know. I've waited so long for this day. To see them dead. To see you all dead. I'll kill you all off one by one. And by the time there's only one of you left, I'll show what I've really become. I will NO LonGEr BE a MIlitaRY dOg!

Havoc sneered, was this another one of Edward's letters. He turned around and handed it to Armstrong who quickly looked over it.

"Sir, its another one of Edward Elric's letters. The boy seems like he's completely lost his mind."

Riza snapped out of her trance, "We can only assume that it really was Edward and that he is with Fukai. But Fukai is no longer a main threat right now. It's...Edward...

And so, the plot intensifies! How will Edward prove his innocence? And now that Muston knows of Eddie and Winny, will the military come even closer to learning about Ed's location? We can only wait and see.
