A/N Sorry for the long wait! I hope this chapter is somewhat satisfying :)

15.

The next morning I wake up because of a stirring Katniss. I rub my eyes and yawn, then look outside to see it's still dark.

''What time is it?'' I ask yawning, sitting up somewhat. Katniss shrugs and pulls me back down, kissing me gently.
I look at Katniss' her head and laugh. ''What?'' she asks frowning. ''Your hair,'' I reply, nodding at the strand of hair that is defying gravity on the top of her head. She groans and sinks back down, patting it down.
I take her hand and pull her to me again. ''You look lovely anyway,'' I whisper before kissing her cheek.
Katniss smiles and looks at me. ''How do you do it?'' she asks. I look at her in confusion. ''Do what?'' I ask back. ''Look pretty, even when it has been a few seconds since you have awoken,'' she replies. I look down at our entwined hands with scarlet cheeks. ''I don't,'' I laugh. ''You do,'' she shoots back softly, kissing my lips again. ''How long until your prep team arrives?'' I ask, lazily drawing figures with my finger on her bare back. ''In the afternoon,'' she groans.

The edges of my lips curl up at her crankiness. She then looks up and gives me a tiny, lousy smile. ''I'm going hunting in an hour or so I think,'' she announces softly, tucking away a blonde strand of hair behind my ear.

I nod and take in her face, and all the little imperfections that come with them. Like the small dent in her cheek where she had injured herself in the woods, her thick eyebrows en the little hairs around them, the dip above her upper lip, which isn't an imperfection at all to be honest.

I stroke her cheek with my thumb, holding her face. I kiss her nose gently, and put my forehead against hers. ''I'm going to miss you,'' I whisper. Her grey, and most of the time, unassuming eyes find mine, and when our eyes lock a familiar warmth spreads through me. ''I wish I could stay,'' she murmurs with a crease in her forehead.I smile sadly, holding her face with both of my hands and kiss her. I can feel her smile under my lips, which opens the cage of the butterflies I keep in my stomach. ''I love holding your face.. And I love kissing you.'' Katniss' face lights up as she softly traces some unknown pattern on my arm, giving me goosebumps.

Then, we silently break up as we go and dress ourselves.

I put on the clothes I was wearing yesterday evening when I came here. Katniss puts on her usual hunting garb. ''Here, let me help;'' I say walking over to her, putting on her jacket for her.
Then we walk down softly, careful not to make any sound to wake Prim or her mother up.
Hand in hand we walk all the way to the meadow together, but when we get to the fence, I let go of her hand.

She gives me a puzzled look, but then I urge her to go under the fence. ''Go, Katniss. I know you need it before you go.'' A look of relieve washes over her face, and just for a moment she seems to relax a bit. Even though I feel wretched, I laugh and pull her into a hug.
I sigh as her arms close behind my back. ''It will be over before you know it. I'll come and look you up as soon as I get back,´´ she promises me, her breath tickling my neck. ´´I know, Katniss. And I´ll be there, always,´´ I whisper back.

Then I have to let go of her, but I don´t want to. Because letting go of her, means that the next few weeks have started. Which means that she´ll be Peeta´s for that time. She gives me one last look, a tiny grin, before going under the fence.

I rub my eyes and stretch before I walk back the way we came, but now on my own.
I decide to spend my day in the square, walking around a bit. I stop by the Sweetshop and buy a bag of mints, and then take place on a little bench, where I sit and watch the sun rise, and the people come out. I pay little to no attention to the passing people, daydreaming, when I sit up in shock. A black and guarded car drives by. All the other people in the Square watch it go by with big eyes.

The car is leaving black stripes in the white snow. I sit back, and sink down as deep as possible, pulling up the hood of my coat and tugging my scarf up to my nose. When the car has passed, I blow out the air I was holding in. My thoughts immediately go out to Katniss.
The people in the car are probably coming for her.. perhaps it is her team of make-up dolls. I stand up and shrug some snow off my arms. I cross my arms when walking, my mind already drifting off again. I look at the remaining mints in my bag, and decide I could as well drop them off at Katniss' house for Prim.

The path to the Victors Village is slippery, but I manage to keep my feet. I knock on the door, and smile when Prim opens the door. I hand her the mints and give her a kiss on the top of her head. When I turn around to walk back to my own house, I come eye to eye with President Snow.
My eyes grow wide, as I quickly drop my gaze, and move past him. I walk as fast as I can, without running. At the last minute I dare and look over my shoulder, to see his eyes still fixed on me.
It is all I have in me not to run back to the woods to warn Katniss.
In the end, I end up in my own house with a cup of tea in my hands, wondering how much damage I have done.
