X Arc-Chapter 3: Keromatsu VS Yayakoma! Aerial Battle Maneuvers!
Serena was in her room, getting ready to go to Professor Platane's Laboratory. Serena was wearing a black sleeveless shirt with a white-collar,red skirt with a pocket attached to the side,long black socks that reached past her knees,black shoes,and a light purple hat with a dark purple ring around it. She turned a little and took a look at the mirror. She then looked disappointed and took the hat off and threw it onto the bed where there were other hats that Serena wasn't keen on wearing. She went over to the table where there were only two hats: one of them was a large and curved pink hat with a black bow that was attached to a black band and was around the hat, while the other was a red cap with a medium-sized pink cotton ball on top.
There was a knock at the door.
Serena: (still looking at the hats) Yes, come in.
Serena's mom,Grace, came inside.
Grace: You're going out?
Pokémon: Hey there, Serena! (lands on the top of Serena's head)
Serena didn't hear her mom's question.
Serena: (picks up the two hats) (talking to Grace) Hey hey, which one do you like best?
Grace: (thinks about it) Hm, (points to the cap) that one.
Serena: (looks at the pink hat) (chooses) So, this one then! (puts on the hat)
Grace: (somewhat insulted) Why ask me to decide, then?
Serena: (adjusts her hat) The cutest choice is the reversal of what Mama chooses.
Pokémon: (agrees) That's true!
Grace: Is that so? (sighs) (wondering) So, where are you going?
Serena: (stands up) Miare City. I'm going to get a Pokémon from Professor Platane. (fluffs the sides of her hair)
Pokémon: (cheers) (flaps its wings) It's a great day for you, Serena!
Meanwhile
We were at the gate waiting for Satoshi,Citron,and Eureka to come back from the Pokémon Center. Me and Ananta was playing Chess.
Ananta: (moves piece) Checkmate.
Me: (frustrated) Again. (sets up pieces)
We saw Satoshi,Citron,and Eureka approaching us. I then packed up the board and pieces.
Me: Now that everyone is here, let's start heading towards Hakudan City. (walks away)
We headed down the road.
Meanwhile with Serena
Serena came outside of her house.
Serena: (calls out) Saihorn! (runs over to Saihorn) (pets Saihorn) Well,I'll see you later, Saihorn. (cuddles)
Saihorn: You too, Serena.
Grace: (talking to Serena) Have you decided which Pokémon you want?
Serena: (nods) Yep!
Grace: (smiles) Which one?
Serena: (tight-lipped) It's a secret! (runs) Well, I'm off!
Grace: Take care!
Saihorn: (talking to Serena) Bye, Serena!
Grace: (calls out) Don't forget to practice Saihorn racing!
Serena: (waves) I un-der-stand!
Saihorn: Visit sometime!
Grace: (looking at Serena) (sighs) Well, it can't be helped.
Back to Us
We were in a forest and were still walking. It seems that it was peaceful and quiet, not a Pokémon to be found. When suddenly,Pikachu,Keromatsu,and Ruby stopped walking and began looking around, confused.
Satoshi: (confused) What happened, you guys?
They didn't listen as they were still looking around.
Shocky: It seems there's a Pokémon around here.
Me: (checks) It seems like you're right.
Then, something bounced off Pikachu's head and fell onto the ground. It was a small berry.
Pikachu: (confused) What was that? (runs over to the berry)
Eureka went over to the berry as well and crouched down. Pikachu went over to the berry as well and leaned down a little.
Pikachu: Isn't that a-(interrupted)...
A small bolt of electricity from above hit the berry and sent it flying.
Pikachu: (surprised) What the...?!
The berry hit Eureka square on her forehead. Eureka fell onto the ground, backwards.
It was a small,orange,hamster-like Pokémon, whose whiskers seem to be in the shape of antennas. It had orange spots on its cheek, while its belly was a pale yellow color.
Satoshi: (interested) Ah! A Pokémon we haven't seen before!
Mysterious Pokémon #1: (talking to Pikachu) (orders) Get out of my way!
Eureka: (overjoyed) Wow, it's soooo cute!
Mysterious Pokémon #1: (walks forward) My berry.
Pikachu stood in the mysterious Pokémon's way again.
Mysterious Pokémon #1: (frustrated) (talking to Pikachu) (orders again) I said move!
Pikachu: (cheeks sparking) No way!
Both Pikachu and the mysterious Pokémon's cheek pouches released electricity and were communicating to each other through the electricity.
Eureka: (impressed) Wow, it's not afraid!
Citron: They seem to be talking to each other using electricity since they're both Electric-Types.
Pokémon Zukan: Dedenne, the Antenna Pokémon. Its whiskers serve as antennas. By sending and receiving electrical waves, it can communicate with others over vast distances.
Shocky: (understands) Uh-huh, so that's what going on.
Eevee: (confused) What are they talking about?
Shocky: (explains) Dedenne wants the berry that Eureka has in her hand. It accidentally dropped it while it was in the trees.
Eevee: (understands) Ooh, I get it. That's all it wants, the berry.
Eureka: (talking to Citron) (begs) I want this Dedenne, brother! (pulls his sleeve) I want to keep it!
Satoshi: (confused) Keep?
Eureka: (talking to Satoshi) (explains) As a partner, for when Eureka becomes a Trainer. (talking to Citron again) (begs again) Hey can I? I'll take real good care of it!
Citron: (thinking about it) (hesitant) Hmm...I wonder...
Satoshi: I don't see why not, if they both like each other.
Eureka: (happy) (talking to Satoshi) Really? Thanks Satoshi!
Bull: (agrees) Yeah, you can catch it since if you want it that bad as your partner for when you become a Pokémon Trainer.
We all had given our own agreeing response.
Citron: (talking to Eureka) Let's get it then!
Eureka: (nods) (sees the berry in her hand) Ah. (runs over to Dedenne) (crouches down) (talking to Dedenne) Hey Dedenne, (holds out the berry) you wanted this right?
Dedenne was approaching the berry slowly while looking at Eureka.
Ruby: Looks like Dedenne is almost about to trust Eureka.
Satoshi: (wondering) I wonder what it told Pikachu.
Eureka: Here, little buddy!
Pikachu: (smiling) Almost there.
Me,Shocky,Eevee,Elena,and Koyuki sensed that a Pokémon was approaching towards our location. A Pokémon appeared and flew towards Eureka.
Mysterious Pokémon #2: (snatches the berry) It's mine now! (flies away)
It then flew onto a tree branch, still holding onto the berry. It looked like a small, avian Pokémon similar in appearance to a robin. It had a reddish-orange head,a triangular yellow mark on the back of each eye,a gray body and wings with white tips on the wings,long, black tail with a white 'v'-shaped marking near the tip and the tail ended in two points with two feathers sticking out at the base,had black legs that were thin and spindly,a black beak,black eyes,and two toes facing forward while one was pointing backwards on each foot.
Satoshi: (talking to the Mysterious Pokémon) Hey, what are you doing? (notices) That guy took it!
Clemont: (identifies) It's a Yayakoma!
Eureka pushed past Satoshi and Clemont, angry.
Eureka: (yells at Yayakoma) Wait! That was Dedenne's!
Yayakoma threw the berry up and it fell into its beak. Yayakoma then swallowed the berry.
Yayakoma: (enjoyed) Yum! That was delicious!
Clemont: (shocked) It ate it!
Pokémon Zukan: Yayakoma, the Tiny Robin Pokémon. These friendly Pokémon send signals to one another with beautiful chirps and tail-feather movements.
Pikachu: (turns toward Dedenne: Uh-oh!
Dedenne had tears in its eyes.
Keromatsu: (notices) Not good.
We turned around and saw what was happening with Dedenne. Dedenne started crying, and then it scurried away.
Eureka: (tears in her eyes as well) (calls out) Dedenne!
Dedenne didn't hear Eureka, and scurried into the tall grass.
Citron: Oh no, it might not come back.
Keromatsu noticed that Eureka was about to cry. He became angry and jumped into the air. He then threw the bubbles on his chest at Yayakoma. But Yayakoma dodged all of them.
Citron: (surprised) It dodged!
Satoshi: (impressed) Thay Yayakoma is skilled. (smiles) (tips his hat) Alright, I've decided! I want that guy!
Yayakoma: (flies onto a branch) (talking to Ash) Bring it on!
Mei: (talking to me and Akane) Mommy,Daddy, can we watch Ash capture a Pokémon?
Me: (smiling) Sure, Mei.
Akane: (smiling as well) If you want to.
Meanwhile
Jong was talking to Ghoul in a forest. Arciril,Selena,Eternit,Erebus,and Nyx was with him.
Jong: So which Ghost-Type Pokémon did you catch?
Ghoul: (smiling) (points down) You're standing on him.
Jong,Thunder,and Even looked down and saw a giant curled stem in the ground. The ground suddenly started to upturn until something popped up from underneath it. When the dust cleared, it was revealed that the giant curled stem was actually a part of the Pokémon from underground. It was a bipedal Pokémon that resembled a pinkish pumpkin with a pair of circular holes carved out of its rind that resembles eyes,some kind of black rag that with a pointy collar,yellowish eyes with no visible pupils,a pair of fangs,curved ears,and a curled stem. The Pokémon was giant-sized.
Ghoul: (introduces) Meet Bakeccha.
Jong: (surprised) Now this, this is a giant Pokémon! (takes out his Pokémon Zukan)
Pokémon Zukan: Bakeccha, the Pumpkin Pokémon. The pumpkin body is inhabited by a spirit trapped in this world. As the sun sets, it becomes restless and active.
Ghoul: (talking to Jong) You have any destination you have in mind?
Jong: (thinks about it) How about Kunoe City?
Ghoul: (nods) Sure thing. (talking to Bakeccha) Bakkecha, fly us towards Kunoe City!
Bakkecha: (flies up into the air) Better hold on to something.
Bakkecha flew towards Kunoe City, fast. Arciril,Selena,Eternit,Erebus,and Nyx flew after them.
Meanwhile with Team Rocket
Team Rocket was floating in their hot air balloon.
Kojirō: (hungry) Ah...so hungry. I so wanted to eat that croissant, too!
Nyarth: (talking to Kojirō) It's a little early, but I do have a lunch packed. (shows picnic basket)
Kojirō: (grateful) Oh! I'm so grateful...(reaches over)
There was a slightly strong wind that shook the hot air balloon a little. One of the sandwiches flew out of the basket.
Kojirō: (worried) (tries to get it) No! My sandwich!
The sandwich was falling for a few seconds, but then it was quickly grabbed by something white.
Kojirō: (confused) (talking to Musashi) What just happened?
Musashi: I don't know, but I saw something white.
Nyarth: (confused as well) What is that Pokémon?
Sonans: (salutes) I don't know!
Something floated up behind them. They turned around to see a primarily blue squid-like Pokémon. It had a white "hat" with a large pink spot overlaid with yellow lights,two tendrils that hang from the "hat" and next to its six short tentacles,round eyes,pupils with no identifiable iris,and a small,pink,beak-like mouth set between its eyes. It then squirted out ink from its mouth at their faces. Their faces were covered in ink.
Sonans: That was mean!
Meanwhile with Satoshi,Pikachu,Keromatsu,Citron,and Eureka
Satoshi,Pikachu,Keromatsu,Citron,and Eureka were running as a group of Spear was chasing them. They were being chased because of Citron's invention. It was a phonograph that makes a sound at high frequencies to attract bird Pokémon. It was used on Yayakoma, but it was unaffected. Unfortunately, it only attracted the Spear that were in the forest. While they were running, Citron decided to increase the frequency. The Spear was chasing after them even more.
Satoshi: (running fast) (very scared) Citron! It backfired!
Citron: (running) If I increase the frequency band...(cranks it even more) come, bird Pokémon!
The phonograph's horn grew bigger and was glowing. Then,the phonograph exploded, creating a big explosion. Smoke was sent everywhere. The Spear flew away. Satoshi,Pikachu,Keromatsu,Citron,and Eureka were on the ground in a rocky area. Satoshi,Citron,and Eureka's hair was ruffled up and almost Afro-like.
Eureka: (talking to Citron) Another failure.
Satoshi: (looks up) (happy) At least the Spear went away. We're saved! (talking to everyone) Are you guys alright?
Eureka: We're fine.
Citron: (frustrated) (talking to himself) Why?
Satoshi: (impressed) (talking to Citron) (compliments) Cool, Citron! You called all those Spear!
Citron: (happy) You think so?
Everyone heard laughing and looked up. Yayakoma was flying around in a circle, laughing at them.
Eureka: It's laughing at us.
Satoshi looked at the rocky area.
Satoshi: (gets an idea) (talking to everyone) I've thought of something!
Meanwhile with Team Rocket
Meowth: I've never seen that Pokémon.
Kojirō got out a device that was like a handheld computer but with a Pokédex function. It showed the Pokémon's stats.
Kojirō: Maaiika.
Musashi: (turns toward James) Huh?
Kojirō: Eh? So that's this one's name.
Sonans: (agrees) (salutes) That's right!
Myarth: (determined) Anyways, we should get it!
Musashi: (agrees) Agreed!
Kojirō: Have a Pokémon battle!
Musashi: (talking to Sonans) Please take care, Sonans. Sonans jumped in front of Maaiika. Maaiika then squirted ink at Sonans' face.
Sonans: Battle's over.
Nyarth: The battle's ended already.
Kojirō: (crouches down) Well then, (takes out two sandwiches) how about this?
Maaika: Food! (reaches over with its arms)
Musashi: (talking to James) Hey!
Nyarth: (talking to James) That's lunch!
Kojirō: (enlarges Poke Ball) Artfully done! (throws Poké Ball)
The Poké Ball made contact with Maaiika and sucked it in while it was distracted. The ball shook while the button was blinking red. After a few seconds, Maaiika was caught.
Kojirō: (happy) Get!
Musashi and Nyarth: (very shocked) What?!
Back to Us
We were battling against half of the Spear that had chased Satoshi,Pikachu,Citron,and Eureka. I had Skiddo use Vine Whip to get their attention.
Me: Shushupu, use Sweet Scent Bomb!
A ball of sweet-smelling perfume appeared in front of Shushupu and started growing a little.
Shushupu: Ready...Aim...Fire! (launches ball)
The ball was sent towards a few of the Spear. It hit one of the Spear and exploded, taking a few of them with it. Once they fell to the ground, they were knocked out from the smell.
Me: (sniffs) Smells like...(guesses) Oran Berries.
Shushupu: (flaps her wings happily) (talking to me) (cheers) Correct answer! Jing's the winner!
Me: Heh, all that training paid off. (grabs a Spear) (talking to Bull) Bull, (throws Spear) catch it with a Net Ball!
Bull: (turns toward me) Sure, Jing. (takes out a Net Ball) Net Ball, (throws Net Ball) go!
The Net Ball came in contact with the Spear and sucked it inside. The Net Ball fell to the ground, and started shaking. After a few shakes, Spear was captured. Bull walked over and picked up the Net Ball.
Bull: (cheers) Looks like I've caught a Spear!
Koyuki easily defeated the rest of the Spear.
Me: (smiling) (talking to everyone) Great, guys. (points) (grins) Now, let's head off towards that direction!
Kari: (grins as well) Let me guess, it's because that's the direction where the explosion gone off?
Me: (nods) Yup! Let's go! (runs)
Meanwhile with Satoshi,Pikachu,Keromatsu,Citron,and Eureka
Satoshi and Keromatsu got ready to battle Yayakoma again.
Satoshi: (talking to Keromatsu) Keromatsu, remember the strategy. Let's settle this here!
Pikachu and Keromatsu: (agrees) Right.
Eureka: (confused) Settle?
Citron: (understands) He is going to get it here!
Satoshi: We can do this together. It's not like with your previous Trainers. (determined) Let's combine our power!
Keromatsu: (determined as well) Sure thing!
Satoshi: Alright, here's the battlefield! (explains) Here you can use your jumping prowess to get from low to high ground in a flash, like you're flying.
Keromatsu: Got it!
Eureka: (unsure) Eureka is not so sure.
Satoshi: Alright! Keromatsu, jump and jump all the way to the top!
Keromatsu jumped and began to jump from rock to rock. Keromatsu jumped towards Yayakoma, but it flew away. Keromatsu jumped off of the rock that Yayakoma was once on.
Satoshi: (cheers) Great! Higher still!
Citron: (understands) I see! So what Satoshi is doing here is using this rocky area to multiply the area on which Keromatsu can actually be at the same height with great mobility.
Keromatsu was hopping after Yayakoma and was keeping up. Yayakoma flew up in the air, and Keromatsu jumped after it.
Satoshi: Go! Water Pulse!
Keromatsu launched a Water Pulse at Yayakoma, but it dodged the attack.
Satoshi: You've disturbed it!
Keromatsu was launching its bubbles at Yayakoma, and it was flying away from the bubbles themselves. Yayakoma flew high up into the air and saw Keromatsu hiding behind a small rocky pillar. It used Peck and was flying towards Keromatsu. Once it collided with Keromatsu, he turned into Keromatsu that Yayakoma collided with was revealed to be a fake made of Keromatsu's bubbles. The bubbles were covering Yayakoma's face. It then stopped flying and shook off the bubbles. Keromatsu was standing on top of the rocky pillar.
Back to Us
We had arrived while Keromatsu was battling Yayakoma.
Shun: (comments) By making a fake version of itself out of its bubbles, Yayakoma fell for it and was distracted long enough for Keromatsu to attack and cause damage against Yayakoma while it left its guard down.
Elena: (compliments) What an ingenious strategy. Just like our Ash. (talking to Koyuki) Right, Koyuki?
Koyuki: Almost like father, mother.
Me: (small grin) (talking to Koyuki) Koyuki, how do you avoid a fight that seems impossible to avoid? And I want an answer, don't dodge this question no matter what.
Koyuki: (very confused) Well...uh...um...
Meanwhile with Ash and Keromatsu
Satoshi: Okay! Use Bubble!
Keromatsu took in a deep breath and released a flurry of bubbles. Yayakoma tried to dodge but got hit and was falling through the air.
Satoshi: Now! Go, Monster Ball! (throws Monster Ball)
The Monster Ball hit and made contact with Yayakoma. Yayakoma was then sucked into the Monster Ball. The monster Ball shook for a few seconds before opening up. Yayakoma had escaped from the Monster Ball.
Yayakoma: I'm free!
Satoshi: (surprised) Eh? It wasn't effective!
Yayakoma used Air Slash!
Satoshi: Keromatsu! Let's do this one more time!
Keromatsu dodged Yayakoma's Air Slash. Keromatsu then jumped on the walls and high into the air and was in front of Yayakoma.
Satoshi: Water Pulse!
Keromatsu launched another Water Pulse at Yayakoma. Yayakoma was surprised and was hit again, taking damage. Yayakoma then started falling through the air again.
Satoshi: (turns his cap around) It's decided! Go, Monster Ball! (throws the Monster Ball again)
The Monster Ball hit Yayakoma and sucked it in. After it shook for a few sconds, Yayakoma was finally captured. Satosh
Satoshi: (happy) Yes! (runs over and picks up the Monster Ball) (smirks) Yayakoma, (poses) GET!
Pikachu: (jumps up in the air) Another new friend!
Keromatsu: (jumps up in the air) We did it!
We went over to Satoshi,Pikachu,Keromatsu,Citron,and Eureka as Keromatsu fell to the ground, tired.
Satoshi: (crouches down) (talking to Keromatsu) Keromatsu, you alright? We were able to get it thanks to you.
Keromatsu: (tired) You're welcome.
Pikachu: (talking to Keromatsu) That was awesome!
Eureka: (talking to Citron) That was amazing, Brother!
Citron: (talking to Satoshi) (compliments) That jumping ability is surprising. You two were perfect!
Satoshi: (agrees) Right. Keromatsu can do a lot of things! He sure can.
Pikachu: You were great. (high fives Keromatsu)
Keromatsu: Thanks.
Satoshi: (throws Monster Ball) Come out, Yayakoma!
Yayakoma: (appears) (talking to everyone) Hello there, everyone!
Yayakoma flew down onto the ground.
Satoshi: Well,Yayakoma, meet your fellow companions.
Eureka: (talking to Yayakoma) (scorns) Now,I understand you were hungry, but taking from others is a bad thing to do!
Yayakoma: (depressed) Sorry.
Eureka: But, we forgive you.
Citron: (has some Oran Berries) (talking to Yayakoma) How about some berries as a sign of reconciliation? Pikachu and Keromatsu, too.
Both Pikachu and Keromatsu grabbed one. Keromatsu handed the other one to Yaykoma. We were walking towards Satoshi and his friends.
Rice: (talking to Satoshi) We saw everything, Satoshi. Good job at catching yourself a brand new friend.
Koyuki: (talking to Satoshi) Good work, Satoshi.
Shinobu: (talking to Satoshi) They're right, Satoshi. That was an excellent battle.
Shocky: (talking to Keromatsu) You were great too, Keromatsu.
Eevee: (talking to Keromatsu) At least you guys have a new friend.
Satoshi: (grins) It was nothing.
Elena: (declares) All right, let's head towards Hakudan City!
Everyone: (cheers) Yeah!
We went on our way down the path, heading towards Hakudan City. Dedenne was hiding behind a rock, watching us.
Meanwhile with Serena
Serena went inside Professor Platane's Laboratory.
Serena: (calls out) Excuse me,but are you in, Professor Platane?
Platane: (walks down the stairs) Ah, here you are. I'm glad you're here.
Serena: (introduces herself) It's nice to meet you, I'm Serena.
Platane: Have you come here to become a Pokémon Trainer?
Serena: Yes. (runs up to Professor Platane) Actually,Professor,(wondering) I was looking for that Trainer who was on the news, the one who helped Gaburias before.
Platane: You mean Satoshi-kun?
Serena: (thinking) (happy) "Satoshi"...looks like I was right!
Platane: (explains) He's embarked on a journey already. He was saying that he wanted to challenge the Hakudan Gym.
Serena: Hakudan Gym. (grins) Alright,so Professor, can I choose my Pokémon?
Platane: (smiles) Of course. Have you decided whom you'd like to choose as a partner?
Serena: (nods) Yes!
Platane: (calls out) Alright then, (turns his head) everyone come out!
Sophie came out with a Fokko,Harimaron,and a Keromatsu following behind her.
Platane: (explains) These are the Starter Pokémon in the Kalos Region. Fokko,Harimaron,and Keromatsu. I wonder which Pokémon you'll be choosing as your partner?
Info #1: Ghoul is a 12-year old boy from the Real Pokémon World. He wears a white kimono with some drawings of a purple fog on it,Geta on his feet,had light skin,long,messy black hair,brown eyes,and was taller than Jong. He's a spirit. He rather be a spirit than passing on, which prevents him from moving on to the next world. He's the Ghost-Type Gym Leader of the Skii Region who gives out the Soul Badge. He also likes Halloween since he like to eat candy.

UFO Cookies that are shaped and fly like a UFO; also has a liquid slime-like blueberry filling.
Info #3: Green Gellyfish is a living Jellyfish made of lime flavored gelatin.
Info #4: The Sweet Scent Bomb's scent depends on what Shushupu had eaten. Once a Pokémon smells the scent that is emitted, they'll end up paralyzed by the smell.
