"He is not his usual self"

"…"

We got home late at night. Utau yelled at us for leaving the party and we listened.

Because it was so late, Utau told me to stay at their place and sleep there. I called my parents, but as usual, they weren't worried, since I was with Ikuto. What carefree parents I have. Anyways, I took a bath with Utau and we were now at her bedroom.

"So, what did you guys do?" She asked.

"Nothing much, we just walked hand in hand, talked about a lot of things… we went to a park and they were holding some special event with music and dancing. It was pretty fun."

"Hm..." She replied sleepy. I chuckled. She fell asleep soon after. I was getting thirty so I left her room and went downstairs. I noticed it was raining outside.

Hm... is there a storm coming? Well, it doesn't matter.

I was used to the usual loneliness of the Tsukiyomi's house, but at night, that big house, emerged in the dark was scary. I quickened my pace and when almost getting to the kitchen I heard a sound and jumped in surprise when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned and it was Ikuto. I shighed and felt my strength leave my body. Ikuto grabbed me by the arms.

"Whoa…"

"You idiot…" I said felling my eyes getting wet.

"Haha, sorry, sorry." He helped me get back on my feet and walked me to the kitchen to take a seat. I followed his back with my eyes while he was fetching me some water. When he turned I quickly looked away and he chuckled. I blushed.

"Here." He said passing me the glass.

"Thanks." I whispered taking a sip.

"Next time wear a sexier pajama please." He said sighing.

I coughed and felt my cheek getting hot.

"What are you talking about? Do you think I agreed to sleepover to show off pajamas?"

"Hm... still, it's such a pity."

"Sh-shut up." I looked away taking another sip.

He took a seat beside me and rested his head on his crossed arms over the table. He was staring at me, so I blushed even harder and take a sip on my water.

"W-what?" I asked and he smiled.

"Nothing, I'm just getting a good look at you, that's all."

I turned my eyes away and put down the glass, cross my arms over the table and lean towards him.

"As if you don't get to do that every day." I say playfully.

"Hm… every day… I'd like that." He said softly. I raised one eyebrow.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

He sighed and closed his eyes for a second, and when he opened them he slowly leaned towards me. My heart raced in advance. Ikuto's face stopped a few inches away from mine, so close I could feel his breathing on my skin.

"Nothing." He said, and landed a kiss on my forehead. "Let's go."

When he rose from his seat I followed him. He looked over his shoulder and grabbed my hand. My heart skipped a beat. I don't think my heart will ever get used to this guy. I blushed and stared at the ground. He laughed softly obviously happy about my reaction. I sighed, frustrated.

"I always let you get the best of me. It's not fair." I whispered to myself, but Ikuto heard and answered with a smile:

"I just never get enough of your blushing." I blushed even further.

"Hmpf…" and looked away. Then there was a loud thunder. I flinched in surprise. "Woah... that was a big one." Then I noticed Ikuto had frozen. I looked up to see his face and it was priceless. I laughed. "What? Don't tell me you're afraid of thunderstorms…" There was a quick flash of light and another loud thunder right after. Ikuto gripped my hand tight. He is afraid. Terrifyed. "Pff... how uncool." He glared at me and I smiled in reply. "Come." I towed him over to his room. He didn't say a word and each time there was thunder, he'd tighten our hands. Getting inside his room, Yoru welcomed us entwining between our legs. I didn't turn on the lights since the tenuous moon light was enough for us to see. I walked Ikuto to the bed and laid down with him. We were still holding hands, looking eye to eye. Yoru jumped to the bed, purring, and nested on the space between our feet.

"I'll stay with you for a while." I smiled.

He sighed.

"How uncool."

I giggled softly.

"It's fine, my sister is scared of them too." I said still smiling. He glared.

"Are you comparing me to a kid?" he asked, annoyed.

"You are a kid. A big one." I teased. He grimaced and I smiled in reply. Another thunder and he shut his eyes close. "Aha, see?" He opened his eyes sighed, frustrated.

I noticed a very thin layer of pink on his cheeks. The light touching his skin made him look like he was faintly glowing silver, and his blue eyes sparkling under his long lashes. I sighed. He was beautiful. I reached him out with my free hand and with the tip of my finger I traced his nose, down to his mouth, very slowly.

He just watched me in silence. I was caressing his cheek, trying to calm him, when he stopped me, taking my hand in his and kissed it. I was used to it, but my stubborn heart still skipped a beat.

Ikuto freed my hand, looked at me and whispered like a secret:

"Thank you, for being here, with me."

I looked in his eyes for a while and then smiled.

"You should try and sleep." I said running my hand thru his soft hair. He closed his eyes to my touch.

"I don't know if I can with you here." He teased with his eyes still shut. I blushed.

"Here we go, I think you're getting back to normal." I replied a little annoyed. He smiled, and chuckled, never opening his eyes. I sighed and continued stroking his hair. Another thunder boomed, but Ikuto didn't even move an inch, maybe because it wasn't as loud as the other, or maybe it was because of me. Either way, that is the last thing I remember, because soon after I fell asleep.

….

I felt something wet and rough and my cheek, which caused me to open my tired eyes. The strong sunlight blinded me so I squinted and looked around. Everything was blurred. I sighed and rubbed my eyes, then I tried and opened them again. It was still blurry, but it was much better. Yoru was still liking me so I pushed him aside. I noticed two people standing a few meters away. A girl, with her arms crossed over her chest and a boy. I tried to focus them.

"Utau?..And..Kukai?!" I yawned. "What are you guys doing so early?"

"That's what I should be asking." Utau said.

"Way to go you two. Haha." Kukai followed.

"What?" I asked confused. Then I finally noticed something heavy. I couldn't move freely. I was tied up. Not in a literal way, no. What I mean is, I was tied up in Ikuto's arms. We were cuddling. Under the sheets. My eyes widened. "Ik—" I looked around and realized I was in Ikuto's room. "W-when did I fell asleep?"

"Hmm... so noisy." Ikuto muttered.

Utau sighed and Kukai laughed. I tried to free myself from Ikuto's embrace but he just pulled me closer.

"Wake...up!" I said. "Let…me...go…"

"Let me sleep." He squeezed me against his chest.

"What were you doing here in the first place? I woke up and you weren't there." Utau asked angrily.

"So you need to ask?" Kukai laughed.

"Well…" I started, still trying to free myself. "I couldn't sleep... and... went to drink some water…and then...I fell asleep? But we weren't like this… we were just holding hands! I don't…"

"Shut up…"Ikuto sighed squeezing me against him once again.

"Ugh... will you stop that?!" I glared at him. He was still with his eyes shut. I sighed.

"Ok, you two are still busy." Kukai said. I quickly looked at him with my eyes wide open. He was pushing Utau from the back, out of the room.

"Wait... Ku-Kukai... I'm still not finished here!" Utau argued. I started to panic. "Stop…" Then Kukai sneaked a kiss on her cheek causing her to blush and pout.

"Let's go, we have a date." He pushed her out of the door and then, before closing it he sang with a wide smile: "You two get ready, it's a new day people! "

"W-wait…" and he turned and closed the door after picking up Yoru and taking him too. He completely ignored my pleading. "Nooo…"

I sighed. After a few more tries, I give up from freeing myself and throw my head back.

"Ugh… what's with this situation?" I ask the celling, because for all I know, the person crushing me against him, is dead. I sighed again, then I turn to Ikuto and poke his cheek. "Hoy… kid who is afraid of thunder." I felt his arm on my waist pull me closer. I chuckled and continued. "Kid, won't you let me go?" No answer, the only thing I could hear was his paced, slow breathing. I sighed. I poked his cheek again. "How are we even like this? I'm sure we were just holding hands. Did you do something? Wait, what a stupid question, of course you did." I turned and was going to try once again and flee, but Ikuto's arms wrapped my waist and pulled me closer, again. "Ugh…" I cranked. He rested his chin on my shoulder.

"I woke up in the middle of the night and you were shivering, you were cold." I looked over my shoulder. He sighed. "I tried to carry you to Utau's room, but…"

I waited for him to continue.

"But…?"

"But you were so heavy." I blushed and gasped.

"Am...am not!" I protested. I felt his body shiver, he was laughing. "What?" I felt his libs on my neck and then he rested his chin on my shoulder again.

"I just decided I wanted to stay with you, that's all." I blushed. "Still, I struggled to get you under those sheets, so, you're still heavy."

I knocked him in the head.

"Ow…"

"Shut up and unhand me." I demanded.

"Hmm…"

I sighed and rolled my eyes. I turned again, his face a few inches away from mine. He opened his eyes.

"Morning." I greeted sarcastically, but as usually, he didn't react to it. He just stared at me. "What's wrong with you?"

He took his time to answer.

"Nothing." He caressed my red cheek with his hand.

"Liar." I pouted. He smiled.

"I just heard some bad news that's all." I frowned and waited for him to continue, but he didn't.

"Aren't you going to tell me?"

He sighed.

"You'll know of it soon enough." He said, and I noticed a bit of worry on his voice.

"You're making it sound like it concern me as well? Or are you in some kind of trouble?" I insisted. He smiled.

"Don't worry."

He was obviously worried over something, but he also didn't want to talk about it. Then another thought hit me.

"Why are you so afraid of thunder anyways?"

He rolled his eyes.

"Are you going to keep asking questions?" I nodded positively. He sighed. "I just am."

"Hm… what a vague answer." I pouted.

"It's the answer you get for being so noisy in the morning."

"Then there is more to it?"

He sighed. Then he leaned closer and I closed my eyes thinking he was going to kiss me, but he kissed the tip of my nose instead. When I opened my eyes he ran his hand thru my hair, smiled, and said:

"Morning."

I felt my cheeks burn. I took the chance to get up quickly and he followed.

"Finally! Freedom." I said taking a good deep breath while stretching my body. Ikuto chuckled and back hugged me.

"Now, shouldn't we dress together?" He whispered on my ear. I hit him on the belly with my elbow. He stumbled a few steps back and hunched down, moaning in pain.

"Now that you are yourself again, die!" I smiled coldly and I left his room. On my way to Utau's room I sighed a few times felling frustrated.

I wonder what is wrong with him. Well… he was all better when I left his bedroom. Such a pervert. Ugh…

I know on Utau's door but there is no answer.

"Oh right… she's with Kukai." I open the door and step inside. I looked for my clothes but they weren't there. I then noticed a note left by Utau. It said: «Pick something from my wardrobe and tell Ikuto to walk you home. I'll take your clothes to school. I think the maid took them to wash.»

I sighed. I opened her wardrobe and picked some tight jeans and a t-shirt. Because of the storm, the weather was a bit chill so I grabbed a jacket. I got on my black All-stars and tied my hair up in a ponytail and left Utau's bedroom.

I walked back to Ikuto's room and knocked.

"Ikuto? Are you done changing?" He didn't answer. I frowned and opened his door. Was it some kind of prank? I peaked inside, it was empty. "Hm? Where did he go?"

"What are you? A Peeping Tom?"

I jumped in surprise. Ikuto was behind me.

"You almost caused me to have a heart attack." I hissed. "I knocked but you wouldn't answer so I just opened the door on my own." I explained.

"Hm, it's fine but could you step aside? I want to get dressed before I catch a cold." He said, and I finally noticed he was only on his jeans. He had a towel covering the top of his wet hair. Some drops were running down his chest. "Done looking?" He asked. I snapped.

"Go inside!" I yelled. The he smirked, leaned down and whispered:

"That's what I am trying to do."

I blushed and finally stepped aside, facing the floor.

Ugh stupid Amu…

Ikuto chuckled and said with a smirk:

"You better get used to seeing me like this."

My jaw dropped as I followed him with my eyes. I blinked a few times.

"Why would I need to get used to it, you pervert?"

He looked over the shoulder studying me.

"Hmpf... right." And he looked away scrubbing his wet hair with the towel and then tossing it to the bed. His blue hair was all messy. "Don't get used to it, ever. Otherwise I won't be able to tease you as much."

I blushed even harder.

"You should get you forehead Tattooed and get it to say «Material for over 25 (year-old) only»"

"Hmm, I think something like «Hottie taken» would fit me best." I raised one eyebrow. He smirked. "Are coming in or not?"

I walked inside and took a sit on the armchair beside his bed.

"Should I feel overjoyed by the tribute?" I asked sarcastically crossing my legs. He chuckled. I watched him as he opened his closet and picked a black T-shirt. "Hmm, use the white one." He looked over his shoulder with one eyebrow up.

"What difference does it make?" He asked and I instantly blushed.

"I ... like it better…" I said staring the floor. I heard him chuckle.

"Fine." He said. When he turned he placed both hands on his hips and said with a disappointed tone: "You always see me shirtless," I raised one eyebrow guessing were the conversation would take us "shouldn't I get a peek too?"

I sighed.

"You're a villain." I said hiding my face in my hands. He laughed. I looked up and stared at him while he was getting ready.

I wonder what is wrong with him... he's acting like his usual self… he's being perverted but… it feels as if he is felling uneasy about something. This morning too, when he wouldn't let go of me. He's trying too hard to not let it show. Ugh... I'm worried.

I played with Yoru while Ikuto was blowing his hair day, and then we left. We walked hand in hand.

"You're really not telling me what's in your mind?" I asked.

"Nope." He answered and I sighed.

"Meanie." I pouted. He smirked and kissed me in the head.

"Don't worry. It's nothing."

When we got at my place we stayed outside for a while talking about trivial things. Then Ikuto's phone ringed. His expression changed when he read the message, I could see it bothered him.

"What?" I asked worried.

He looked at me and smiled.

"I have to go. I have to meet someone." I frowned and he smirked. "It's a really hot girl."

"Tsk… go, go then." I crossed my arms over my chest. He chuckled and then pulled me against him on a tight hug.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow." He said leaving.

Something is definitely wrong.

"Ikuto!" I called. He turned around and I rose on my tiptoes landing a kiss on his libs.

"S-see you tomorrow." He smirked and I ran inside.

Time Skip

I jumped to my bed and got under my sheets. I was ready to sleep when my phone ringed. It was message from Ikuto. I frowned while reading it.

«Amu, I'm sorry, but I won't be able to walk you to school tomorrow.»

"What? Well this is a first." I sighed. "I wonder what's going on with him."
