A little over two years since I updated it. I have been super busy with working and being a fiance that I have had very little time to even let the creative juices flow. Thanks to everyone who ever read this at the start and anyone who liked it. I hope this chapter is something that you like. It might be slow again or I might just come up with an ending for this so it doesn't stay unfinished. I know I hate stories that are not done but also no one updates. Again I am sorry ladies & gents for this. With my wedding planing next year I will have to decide what I am going to do. Thanks again! You are wonderful! R&R!

Elizabeth slipped into her pink chinos and pulled her black and white stripped quarter sleeved shirt over her head. Smoothing out the wrinkles she took a glance at herself in the mirror and gave an approving nod. She stepped into her black flats, grabbed her purse and headed out her front door to the elevator. She had her heart set on coffee to take her mind off of the tabloid she glanced over.

It had been three months since Elizabeth had a change of heart and told Tony Stark that she wouldn't be moving in with him. The look on his face when things changed almost broke her heart. Elizabeth knew that even though he offered her all the space that one person could need that she was fully aware that it would never be her home though. She would have a room but that was it. Nothing outside of that room would belong to her that wasn't in a storage locker. His brown eyes showed pain while she told him that she had a change of heart and that she wouldn't be coming back with him permanently that night when he took her to grab some of her belongings.

The older gentleman argued with her, trying to tell her that his home was her home. That all the space should could possibly need would be there. Telling her that she could place her stuff in a spare room if having it in a storage container was too much for her. Instead of trying to compromise she placed a hand on on cheek and gently kissed the other before turning away from him. Tony offered to her one last time telling her that she was making a huge mistake, but all she could do was smile sadly and shake her head. For Elizabeth it was a battle of head versus heart. She apologized sadly while her went around the side of the car and got in. The last she saw of him were the tail lights taking off.

Since that moment Tony had a new woman every night on his arm as eye candy. She was hurt but she knew that it was her choice to not move in with him. She had said yes but that night after she said yes she knew it was the biggest mistake she could have made.

Mindlessly she hit the call button and pushed 1st floor once the lift arrived. She stepped on and once it was on the ground floor she stepped off into the lobby of her apartment building. Elizabeth pulled out her sunglasses and walked across the lobby, slipping them onto her face just as she made her way out the door and down the steps.

Once down the stairs she turned onto the street and dug into her purse searching for her headphones. Pulling them from her bag, she plugged the one end into her phone and stuck the buds in her ears. A smile crossed her face once she hit play and the music started playing in her ears. It was an old song that she listened to when she lived in Texas as a child. She drummed her fingers against the handle of her purse as she crossed the street. Starbucks wasn't far away but the men in New York sometimes could be more than she wanted to deal with.

Walking a little further lead her right to the large door. She grabbed the handle and gave the handle a yank, causing it to open. Stepping in Elizabeth slipped her sunglasses on top of her head and got in line. The man and woman at the front of the line stared at the board while the barista waited with a pained look on her face. Elizabeth smiled at the girl and shook her head.

The line moved slowly and after 10 minutes Elizabeth finally got to the front of the line she smiled and opened her mouth to speak. The barista seemed to be preoccupied by something happening behind her so she glanced up at the menu on the wall. A light hand grazed across her bottom and her head whipped around, ready to attack. It was no other than Tony Stark standing behind her with a smirk on his face.

"Hello red." he said nonchalantly still smiling. That would be why the barista looks so surprised, Elizabeth thought to herself. Elizabeth looked around him seeing if he brought a friend with him. When there was no one behind him she cocked an eyebrow. "Did you lose one of the new friends you have made? I didn't think you traveled alone darlin." Tony's smirk faded at her words. He knew he had been on a three month escapade with numerous women but he didn't think she would really take notice. No, that was wrong he thought to himself. That was exactly why he did it. Tony wanted her to feel the same kind of pain he felt, even if it was from another cause.

"I think I left my groupies at home. Why would I want to bring them if I was coming here to see you though? I am sure you would make them jealous."

The smirk was back on his face. Elizabeth crossed her arms over her chest and glared at him.

"Real cute . Now if you would excuse me I would like to order my coffee so this nice girl can get back to gawking at you."

Elizabeth turned on her heel and ordered a small lite frap with no whip. Searching through her purse for her debit card, Tony stepped closer and handed the barista a larger bill. Her breath hitched at the closeness of his body to hers. Reigning in her emotions she stood a little bit taller, keeping an unamused look on her face.

"Keep the change." He said, flashing her a million dollar smile.

Rolling her eyes, the red head walked over to the side counter to wait for her drink, placing his hand on the wall beside her head. His sent filled her nose. It was something that was crisp and clean with a hint of leather.

"You know you could say something more to me or are you playing as hard to get as that first night we met. But if I remember, you gave in pretty easy to me."

She ducked under his arm and grabbed her drink when they placed it on the counter and called her name. She was thankful for the distraction.

"Thanks for the coffee ."

Elizabeth gave him a small smile and grabbed her sunglasses from the top of her head. Slipping them over her eyes, she headed out the front door and back onto the busy New York streets.

"Wait!" She heard his voice called out to her. She spun around and peaked at him over her sunglasses. He was just as handsome and rugged as she remembered him. "

I just wanted to let you know that your ass looks amazing in those pants, Elizabeth. I don't know how you do it but you do impress me every time we run into each other."

Elizabeth smirked at his compliment. He was being his usual charming self and if she wanted to get through this run-in with him, she would to keep reminding herself of the past three months that she went through.

"Thanks you don't look too bad yourself." She pushed her sunglasses up and turned back around. She still had it and she knew it. Tony might have flings with those women, but he still wanted underneath her.

He watched her walked half way down the block and he knew he was making a mistake. Three months away from her was long enough. He was sure he proved his point until he saw her today. She was unfazed by him when she saw him. "Elizabeth!" He yelled, hoping to catch her attention. Everyone on the street turned to look at him while she kept walking. She has to have her headphones in, he thought. Tony ran after her thankfully she wasn't that far away.

Tony reached out and placed his hand on her shoulder, turning her around to face him. Elizabeth pulled an ear bud out of her ear with a questioning look. "Yes ?" she asked pulling away from him. Cupping the back of her neck he leaned in, placing a soft kiss on her lips. First she was weary about giving in but shortly she let his mouth take control of hers right in the middle of the sidewalk. Her stomach did flips and it felt like it kept trying to tie its self in a knot.

Firmly she placed both hands on his chest and pushed him away. "I can't do this. I cannot go through this with you." she said flatly. His hands fell to the sides of her arms and gave them a gentle squeeze. "Are you sure this is what you want? I can walk away and never come back. As much as I would hate to do that, I would do that for you."

Elizabeth let out a pained sigh and shook her head. At this very moment she wasn't even all that sure what she wanted. If someone would have asked her a week ago or a month ago she would have said Tony Stark. Now that he was standing here she wasn't even sure of that anymore.

"I don't know what it is that I want Tony!" she voice raising slightly, "I have called you and sent you text messages over the last three months and you haven't returned a single one. You sent Pepper into the office as your representative. You didn't get the answer you wanted which was apparently too hard for you to handle and you flew off the deep end. You were out with different women every night. You knew I would see that! You had to have known! I have ever single magazine from the last three months and you are a glossy two-page article with different women on your arm!"

Her hand flew up to her mouth as soon as the words left her. Elizabeth tried so hard to keep her composure with him, but it failed. Her heart was beating erratically and she knew she wouldn't be able to keep her emotions under control once she opened herself up.

"Of course I knew." His words were a whisper.

Elizabeth questioned herself on if she really heard that or not. She was almost certain that he did say what she thought he did. Just as she was about to open to mouth to berate him, he cut her off.

"It was a low blow I know. I knew that then. But you left me. Don't you forget who walked out on who. Also you make it sound like I was so wrapped up in women. That wasn't the case though. I threw myself into saving cities from stupid petty crime. I distracted myself from you. You are the first woman to get to me that way. You're like a habit that I can't let go. Say what you want, but you know that you get under skin in the best way possible." He laughed at the end of the speech.

The red-head slitted her eyes and watched him intensely for a moment. Shaking her head she placed her ear bud back into her ear and turned away from him. Turning to look at him over her shoulder a smirk danced across her lips. "I will be in touch with you Tony, don't worry." With those words she walked down the street back to her apartment. A smile pulling at her lips the entire way there.
