*Ok i loved the reviews people. It's nice to think that I was a little funny. But don't get to attached to it. Soon I'll be getting back to the action packed fights that i started with. It sure has been a while since i wrote a fight scene. This chapter will answer a few of your questions and kicks off the next phase of the story. So as always hope you enjoy. So read and then reveiw.
Gray was stuck, stuck between a table and seven soft voluptuous places. Gray had learned to trust his and his instincts were telling him that he needed to be anywhere but here. He formulated a plan in his head.
"So Gray, what are you up to?" inquired Erza. They all gave him a questioning look like he was supposed to have all the answers. They were all keenly observing but then his behaviour became normal. His fidgeting and nervousness were gone. Then he said "Well this is awkward."
"What do you mean Gray-sama?" asked Juvia who didn't seem to be able to read the atmosphere.
"Hmm… not quite."
"Not quite?" they gave him a puzzled look.
"Yea, not quite Gray."
Gray had slipped out using his teleportation and summoning Daedalus. He was now walking the streets with a little speedier than normal. He was distracted so he didn't see the short bluenette walking towards him. He ran rite into her and knocked her over.
"Ah…sorry bout tha- oh Wendy!" said Gray as he helped Wendy up. She dusted herself off then looked at Gray; she felt something strange coming from him. And there was a strange scent coming from him. It wasn't unpleasant but it also wasn't something she'd like to smell very often. It was like vanilla but it was way too sweet and strong.
"Gray why were you rushing so much." asked Wendy.
He answered "I was just trying to get out of a sticky situation." Gray recounted the story to Wendy hoping that he would get some sympathy… he was not so lucky. She gave him a cold look that seemed to say 'you're an idiot.' Gray had always thought of Wendy as the sweet adorable little angel but he had forgotten how mean she could be to him. One instance came to mind, the moment when she had forgotten that Gray was there to save her in Edolas. Ahh that was a bad idea, he shouldn't have done that. Now he was remembering something bad something very bad. Wendy snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Um Gray I don't know if this is related to your issue, but I've noticed a strange magic around you." Aside from what she was saying, which very important Gray couldn't help being annoyed by the air quotations she made with her hand when she said 'issue?' He wondered when Wendy got so mean. "Gray are you listening to me?" Damn it why was he only getting distracted. It was as if he couldn't think clearly. "As I was saying Gray. The only other time I've felt this magic was when I was treating you after you were attacked."
"Is that so? Well later Wendy I have some business to take care of." Wendy was shocked. That wasn't the indecisive and fidgety Gray that said that. It was the calm cool and collected Gray Fullbuster. He turned and then vanished into thin air.
Now that Gray's mind was clear he tell exactly where he needed to go. In fact it was as if he was being called out. He found the spot. There she was sitting on the ledge of the building. Here long hair flowing gracefully in the wind. She turned to face him and her smile almost made him forget why he had come but only almost. Aphrodite was stunning as usual and Gray couldn't deny that but there was something he couldn't trust about her.
"That's a nasty trick you played on me."
"Oh don't make it sound so naughty Gray. It was all in good fun."
"Still that spell you used on me was on a whole other level from compared to normal love charms."
"How mean. That was no love simple love charm. Listen:" Suddenly her clothes changed and she wore an outfit like that of a teacher. A cream coloured outfit that was made up of a skirt, shirt, blazer and glasses. "My magic isn't just concerned with love. It involves connections. When two people care for each other a bond is formed. A red string of fate if you need to call it something. And once I place my mark on someone I can pull on those strings and draw people that person cares for to him. It also works in reverse. Well, tugging on those strings can leave the marked person a bit disoriented. The effects vary for each person." Now things started to make sense he must've been marked but when. Then it dawned on him.
"That kiss? That was when you marked me." Gray hadn't realized but when she leaned forward and gave him a peck on the cheek, he caught on. He had sat himself down on the floor and was listening attentively to her explanation.
"Well how about we change topic. Isn't there something you want to tell me Gray?"
"And what would that be?"
"Don't be such a tease Gray." Aphrodite began to get quite flirtatious. Sliding her hand up and down Gray's forearm. It was getting distracting but Gray still had his senses… for the moment at least. He couldn't deny that it was quite distracting. But no matter what he needed to keep his cool. This girl was too mysterious.
"I have no idea what you mean."
"Grrrraaaaayyyyyy stop being so mean. You've figured it out haven't you? The reason one of the most powerful gods appeared before you. It must have gone through your mind at least once. I know you wanted to tell that old man."
"Oh have you been snooping on me."
"Oh don't make it sound so pervy."
"Hmm I don't really feel like telling you."
Believe it or not Gray, I don't intend to harm you or your guild. I am not your enemy. All I want is to see a certain man put to sleep." This wasn't her usual attitude. She seemed genuine and for better or worse Gray decided he could trust her.
"There's only one thing that they could possibly want."
"And what could that be."
"It's most like the cause of my demonization. During my conflict with the demons I was forced to absorb a curse using my devil slaying magic. Doing so not only gave birth to that annoying man it also imprinted the curse in my body. The one threat that I could pose to supposed immortals. Memento Mori."
