Ok yes I know that this is way later than I said it would be up but things happened. It was extremely difficult for me to sit down and write when I actually had free time because I'm so out of habit. This chapter is decent length but it was originally supposed to be twice as long. I had hoped to fit all the events occurring here into this one chapter but it didn't work out. The reason I'm putting up this chapter is thanks to ma girl Miranda. Just to let you know, my phone is synced to my email so when notifies me about anything I get it way faster than checking the site since I don't log on very regularly. So if you think im taking my sweet time don't be afraid to hit me up. When message me and tell me that you're waiting you'd be surprised how much you make me want to get busy.

And another thing. Fight scenes are a bitch to write. I can see it clearly in my head but to put it into words god it can be annoying. That's why this fight will be shorter than I intended. I can't go wasting so much time on one fight when I have a war to plan. So read and enjoy, if you haven't already review, favourite it's all greatly appreciated.

Wendy wasn't able to follow their movements. All she saw was the resulting explosion of red and blue. At the point of impact was a massive crater where the clearing once was and jotting out from this impression were two large streaks on the grounds surface. At the end of these streaks were two identical plumes of smoking, each concealing one of the two competitors. Wendy seeing how far they were going to take this made a decision, one which proved to be very wise. The plume of smoke to here left was replaced by a column of fire caused by the rambunctious dragonslayer.

There he was standing stern and serious with an intense gaze in his eye. Then he did something that would change the course of the battle.

"BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

He started laughing and pointing hysterically at the other plume of smoke which made no sense to Wendy. This was because she was missing an important detail in the equation. During their bout, right before they were about to exchange blows Natsu pulled out his secret weapon. One of Juvia's Gray shaped cookies. At the sight of this Gray almost gagged giving Natsu a perfect opening to suck him in the jaw.

The smoke cleared from the other impact site. There laid Gray nursing a bruised jaw. He had the most derp like face that he could possibly pull off. Natsu's actions had completely erased all the anxiety and doubts Gray held inside. They happened to be replaced by the simple minded desire to make Natsu's face one with the floor then he'd what to smash in the floor.

"What the Hell you slanted eye bastard!?"

After attempting to contain his laughter Natsu managed to choke out "Y-Y-You…pfft…should…see…pfft…Your stupid face!"

"Ice Impact!"

Natsu was forced to scurry out of the way to avoid the earth shattering ice hammer that solidified above his head. He tucked and rolled out of the way only to be surrounded on all sides by a battalion of ornate cannons, even in the trees. "Ice Canon Barrage." He didn't have time to counter since he was bombarded by a barrage of ice canons. These cannonballs were made from devilslayer ice that was far stronger than basic ice magic. And Natsu was able to testify to that after getting chucked in the face about a dozen times. After delivering blunt damage the balls expanded to icicle spiked structures. By the end Natsu became encased by a not so mini iceberg. The canons lining the perimeter around the iceberg evaporated into thin air.

After a few seconds Gray spoke up. "Cut the act flame brain. It's about time we stop playing around." The ice experienced a drastic change in colour. It went from Gray's signature blue to a bright mix of red and orange. The iceberg then erupted, propelling ice shards in all directions. The shards that flew towards Wendy and Gray kept fracturing the till they eventually became microscopic dust particles. "Looks like you finally got your head in the fight" said Natsu with toothy grin.

"Yea. I guess you could say I was motivated. Now bring it on hot head let's see if you can still keep up with me." Now they locked eyes again but it was different from before. This time they were looking at each other in the way they used to when they were kids before their lives became so complicated. Now they were nothing more than rivals and it was time to get down to business.

Natsu came in with the (the wrecking ball ;) I kid, I kid!) 'Fire Dragon's Iron Fist' which was subsequently blocked by Gray holding out his arms in an X shaped manner. He hadn't anticipated how much force Natsu had put behind the attack and was about to be overwhelmed. That is before he froze his feet to the ground. Natsu was no longer pushing him back but the reverse was occurring. Gray's hands had become frozen over and ice was quickly inching its way up the dragonslayer's arms. Natsu was about to widen the gap between them when Gray grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. In a swift movement he tossed Natsu away with super human strength. The force of the throw was so great in fact that Natsu shattered several of the frozen trees in the vicinity.

Gray hoped to have time to cast his spells but that was for naught. Before he knew it Natsu had almost instantly closed the gap between them and was about to land a blazing upper cut on him. He could dodge using transport magic (I won't be calling it warp anymore) but it drained a substantial about of magic and he wasn't competent with it to use it in a battle situation. Not enough time to contemplate. He was dealt a brutal blow to the jaw which was followed by another which led into the Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragons Fist. Gray was barely able to avoid serious damage by freezing the points of contact before he received the blows.

Gray was presently in midair which meant he had no room to manoeuvre which meant he could only block the devastating Fire Dragon's Roar. The girth of the stream of fire was several times that of Gray's body so he was bathed in the flames. If he hadn't made his Ice Make Shield he would've been dealt severe damage. As the flames cleared it revealed a huge ornate Greek style shield. Natsu quickly realized it would be smarter to go around the shield rather than through it. He proceeded to perform a hand stand then spun his legs in a break dance like motion 'Crimson Lotus Blazing Surge.' The flames grew into a large whirlpool the spread around the shield and struck Gray directly. Or at least that was its intent. What he in fact hit was one of Gray's ice clones. Realizing the he had been played spun around to meat Gray's eyes. A multitude of ornate swords spiralling around him. "Never take your eyes off your opponent. It's basic. Unlimited Blades." Natsu got buffeted by an assault of ice blades. Then his entire body became engulfed in flames. The flames continued to grow into an enormous fireball that rapidly expanded larger and larger. Wendy kicked it into high gear and started running. Thanks upward force of heat convection Natsu had risen higher and was now essentially a miniature sun floating above Gray's head. The effects of the magic could be seen on the landscape. The remaining lush green trees began to blacken as all the moisture was lost.

All the citizens of Magnolia stopped and stared as the town was bathed in the light of Natsu's enormous fireball. The core of the fireball was noticeably brighter than the rest of the fireball. The core began to rise and naturally the fireball followed. It kept rising but didn't rise with it was Natsu himself didn't move at all. Once Natsu was back in Gray's site, he could be seen with his hands held over head with his fingers intertwined. Natsu swung his hands downwards launching his Big Bang At-ah-launching the Supreme Brilliant Blaze.

The amount of condensed magic was breath taking but Gray didn't have the luxury of staring at it all they and had to prepare a counter attack. The floor beneath him became frosted over despite the heat and was merely a sign of Gray focusing his magic. "Vanir's Spear Rises! Gungnir!" From the ground the tip of what might've been mistaken for a hill was birthed and it kept rising heading directly for the mini meteor's centre. The people of Magnolia looked on as a small mountain collided with small star. The collision produced a massive explosion of colour. The bright red mixed in with subtle blue of shards that were floating in the flames. A seemingly white halo could be seen around the spiralling sphere of colour. A shockwave radiated from the explosion and uprooted trees and boulders in its wake.

By the time the shockwave made it to town it was weakened to a warm gentle breeze. This breeze rustled the locks of a certain unhappy wizard. "Stupid fools." The magics had subsided and smoke was all that was left behind.

Final note: if you're wondering about the size of the techniques.

The diameter of the fireball was almost the length of the Cardia Cathedral and the Gungnir at its base was a good 20 or so feet wider than the Cathedral. Any questions or things you're confused about just hit me up anytime. Thanks for the support and look forward to my future works.
