Could It be? Am I back? Maybe

Shoutout to the guy/girl who messaged me asking about the story. Don't have the message open at the moment and your usernames to complicated to remember off hand.

The reason I haven't updated in so long is because what I'm doing in school right now is purely assignment based and I don't have much free time anymore. So if you're an IT person hmu XD

Losing track of where I was in the story and literally forgetting all the OCs I made and were planning to make didn't help either.

But anyway good to back. A little update about me I'm on twitter now finally got into the social networking scene. If you actually wanna see me (you don't trust me) find me at TheShello

Sorry for the long wait. This one's pretty short. Hope you enjoy. And seriously leave a review it's been so long T_T

It was dark. It was cold. How ironic that I, an ice wizard, would feel cold. I was here once again. No matter how hard I tried it was impossible to move. I found myself sitting on an all to familiar throne of ice. Then his voice pervades the silence.

'So how've you been? See any devils lately?'

How I hated that smug smile. Looking back at me I see my own face and again I'm reminded of what dwells within me.

'Why am I here Daedalus?'

'Why should I answer you? Within this world I'm free from that annoying spell of yours. If you really want to ask me something maybe you should call me by my true name.'

'…'

'You feel him don't you? That thing out there. It smells a lot like him-'

'Would you shut up! So annoying. All these devils whispering in my ears.'

The darkness envelopes me and from the empty void I hear voices. Rather a voice. Not the voice of someone he would've liked to be there. My eyes flicker open and after a few reflexive winks I make out a person's figure. A person I really wish wasn't there. A person with shoulder length red hair.

Gray lay on the ground, sitting on the dirt floor next to him was Erza. On her other side was Natsu sprawled out as if he was at home on his own bed. 'Fool, are you satisfied now?'

Plastered across his face was the signature Fullbuster smirk. Then came his response.

'Satisfied? Who could possibly be satisfied losing?'

He swore he heard her whisper "idiot" but he just ignored it and stared up at the sky.

"Do you think I stood a chance of winning?"

They're eyes met and for the second time the reality of Gray's loss sunk in. Being the strongest was never his goal but at least in this moment he wanted to be stronger than him. His eyelids felt heavier and he once again sunk into sleep. He had no recollection of when or how he was moved but the next time he awoke he was in his own bed. He had been bandaged up and he could tell Wendy had kept true to her promise and patched up the foolish duo. Now all that was left was to apologize to all the people they worried. He tried to sit p but felt sharp stabbing pain rippling throughout his body. Worst of all near his neck & shoulders and his abdomen.

He dropped back to his bed and stared at the sealing. He lifted his right arm as if he wanted to touch the sealing and gazed at the back of his palm. His head was rather clear now and he was left only with his own thoughts to ponder.

He wondered if he could get stronger. If he could would it be enough? What did want to be strong for? The image of Natsu crossed his mind but no, that wasn't what he wanted. He was reminded of a similar time when he was younger that he pondered the same thing.

He was collapsed on the snowy ground. He and his father Silver had been chopping firewood and little Gray had worn himself out trying to copy his dad. Even as he was lying there he could still here the sound of his dad chopping wood. He had always thought his dad was kind of a simple minded muscle head but he still thought he was the coolest, strongest most awesome guy in town. Just at the moment he was about to think of another adjective for him when streaks of gold danced in front of his eyes. It was none other than the bubbly girl who would always annoy him. Here she was again probably come to bother him to play some game.

"Hey Gray let's go play!" She smiled show bright even the snow on the ground started to melt. She was by far the cutest girl Gray had ever seen and he couldn't deny he might have had a crush on her a while back. So of course the only appropriate response was.

"No!"

"Wh-Whyyyy!?"

"Why don't you go play by yourself"

"B-But I wanna play with you!"

"Well I don't"

"C'mon C'mon! Let's go play!"

Urgg he groaned, "Would you leave me alone!"

"But I wanna show yo-"

"Why can't you leave me alone who'd ever wanna play with a stupid girl like you!?"

At that she paused for a moment but that was really just the calm before the storm. Gray took a punch right in the jaw for that last comment. Then right before storming off tears in her eyes Cassandra said "Well nobody wants to play with you either stupid! Meanie!"

Then she was gone she left quite the impression on Gray. He didn't think girls could punch so hard. Of course that wasn't the only punch he was due to receive. He got another serving of fist right to the top of his noggin.

His dad had finished chopping would at the very moment Casandra arrived and finish piling them up by the time Gray made her cry. "What was that for?" Gray protested but his dad just picked him up and gave him a piggyback ride. The warmth of his dad began to spread trough Gray and again the admiration for his dad began to build up.

His father's voice cut through the silence. "Gary if there one thing you have to learn in life it's this. Never make a girl cry. Otherwise you'll never find yourself a good woman." Gary peered at his dad's face from over his shoulder and saw the widest grin he had ever seen plastered on someone's face. "That I know from experience." They had come right up to their house and his dad finished off by saying, "Now why don't you go find your little girlfriend she was saying something about seeing some monster."

All Gray could do was run of after Cassandra not before saying "She's not my girl friend OLD man!" He left with his dad's advice still ringing in his ears. Never make girls cry. Little did he know that was the last bit of advice his dad would ever give him.
