CHAPTER 17

Clark was looking at the pictures in front of him showing his ex girlfriend Lana Lang now Luthor in a very intimate lip lock with his troubled brother Adam.

Lex noticed Clark was trying to find the words but they wouldn't come.

"I see you haven't a explanation either…" Lex spoke lowly knowing Clark was seemed to be as lost as he was.

"Lex…Adam is having problems…"

"What kind of problems cause him to take advantage of my wife!?" Lex snapped back.

Clark knew that he had to be careful with his next words as not to reveal any of his and Adam's secret and realized the best way to describe the current situation.

"…Drugs Lex, he has gotten involved in drugs" Clark sighed as it was true in some extent.

Lex thought for a moment and his expression was more restricted as before as he quickly stepped forward.

"I need to find Adam now…"

Clark didn't like the threatening tone in his former friend and shook his head.

"I don't think would be a good idea.."

"…and why is that Clark?" Lex tone raised again interrupting Clarks obvious advice.

"Because he is dangerous!" Clark also now raised his tone not being intimated by him.

"It doesn't matter…Iff you know were Adam is…tell me now" Lex glared at him coldly, Clark seeing into the eyes of someone he once trusted now seeing all that was left was evil through Lex's eyes.

"There something your not telling me Lex, why are you so interested in finding Adam" Clark said seeing an alteria motive in this conversation.

Even with Lex's strong resolve it didn't take a moment pass before he shouted out in anger and fear rolled into one.

"LANA IS MISSING!"

Clark stared blankly for a moment and to Lex's surprise there was no immediate reaction to those words.

Had Clark truly moved on from Lana. Lex thought to himself as the silence between them continued.

"Lex…" Clark began "…we will find them not just you; Adam is my responsibility as much as Lana is yours"

Before the two could continue both of there cell phones rang out simultaneously as they looked to there phones and then to eachother.

Both phones read the same caller ID

Caller Unknown

Lex did not know if it was anything to do with 33.1 and did not want the snooping farm boy overhearing any of his current projects and walked out of the barn.

Clark decided that he would return to the balcony level to take the call so that Lex couldn't eavesdrop on his phone call.

He was greeted by skeptical gazes from all on the level except Lois who sadly was still unconscious.

Clark wasted no time and awnsered the call.

"Hello?"

"…Hello Kal-El…" The smooth voice of his brother came over the receiver.

Lex also answered his phone at the same time.

"What is it?" he was expecting to be some technician but it wasn't who he expected.

"…..Now that's not a nice way to greet your wife…." Lana calmly spoke in reply.

The Barn

"Adam….were are you?" Clark said bringing the attention of Chloe, Martha and Lionel to draw closer.

"That name has no more use to me, it is a constant reminder of the empty shell I once was" T spoke out with annoyance.

The Driveway

"Lana…were are you?" Lex voice was laced with worry but determination also.

"Don't worry Lex…" she said with a very sensual tone as she concluded.

"…I'm in a very safe place right now"

The Barn

"You need to come home…your in grave danger…" Clark said trying his best to reason with him.

"Danger…" Adam let out a slow laugh "…Clark the only danger I had was listening to you"

Metropolis

Lana and T looked at eachother and began to slowly laugh as there game was being set in motion.

Both Clark and Lex spoke in unison to there respected receivers.

"What's so funny?

That's when the new deadly duo decided to have some fun as they swapped phones with eachother.

The Barn

"Hello Clark…" a slow purring voice echoed through Clarks receiver making him jump as he hesitated before speaking out her name.

"Lana?"

The Driveway

"Hello Lex…" a newly found confident voice replaced his wife's making Lex's blood surprisingly boil.

"Adam?"

The Barn

Chloe's heart tightened at the mention at the name of Mrs. Luthor being mentioned as it seemed that her web of sedultiry had trapped the already weakened mind of Adam. Her heart ached more now more than ever as she felt Adam was falling down a path he could never return from.

Clark on the other hand was merely angry for the fact that Lana was again involving herself in this already difficult situation. Having his ex added into the equation was only going to make matter's worse.

"Lana listen to me carefully you and Adam seemed to be infected with a aphrodisiac…" he tried to explain but was cut off by her shrill voice.

"Of course he is that's why he is with me…" she concluded with a giggle.

"Lana what did you do?"

The Driveway

"Adam I don't know what your doing with my wife but you will return her to me...now!" Lex said very coldly.

The response from the recipient on the cell was laughter and then T replied.

"Lex…Lex… Lex remember when you told me that search for truth is more precious than its possession?"

Lex waited impenitently as Adam continued his metaphor.

"…Well are you willing to give up your prized possession to seek the truth?"

"I swear Adam you don't want me as your enemy" Lex said calmly and coldly gripping the handset tighter.

"Funny Lex…I was about to say the same thing to you" Adam replied in equal tone.

That is when T and Lana looked to each other and knew it was time to for the next step of the plan.

They both spoke in unison to there respected recipients.

"Meet us at Club Isis in 30 minutes…don't be late"

Both Lex's and Clark's phones cut off abruptly.

Lex did not give any seconds notice and entered the limosinge and within seconds it hoisted down the driveway and turned right towards Metropolis.

Clark put his phone away and sighed and the first person to enter his view had been the petit blond in Chloe as her eyes glared dangerously at him and without him reacting she pulled the photographs from his hand and looked at them with her eyes widened.

"Were are they?" she said angrily as a tear fell from her cheek not for the first time today.

He put a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"Club Isis"

"When do we leave?"

Clark was surprised by her blunt question but taking a look at Lionel he realized again what he spoke about when it came to Chloe's influence toward Adam.

"Now…I just need you to come and get something with me from my room"

"What?"

"Our Last chance to save Adam"

As they went to leave Clark look back to Lois and then to his mother.

"Mom take care of her" he said in a mere whisper as he looked at her angelic state as she slept of the concussion.

That was when Martha & Lionel exchanged a worried glanced hoping that they would be able to bring a troubled soul back home.
