CHAPTER 18

Clark & Chloe entered the deserted Club Isis which was now presumably closed at this late hour.

Clark had not known were Lex had gone to after the conversation with Adam. He just hoped for once in there disjointed history that his former friend would listen to him.

Mrs. Kent decided to stay with Lois to help her recover from the affects of the energy wave from Jor-El using Lionel's body.

Clark was more worried than ever how angry Adam reacted on realizing there fathers present the rage in his eyes and the way he resisted the effects of the green Kryptonite just so he could keep feeling this way he is now.

But Jor-El warned him that Adams already fragile mind could not take these intense emotions without truly understanding them which Adam did not thus why this alter ego T has been created in the mess. The result could end up someone seriously hurting someone or worse and could end up destroying himself in the process.

Clark looked over to Chloe who had been quiet the entire journey up here. True himself and Chloe had to watch Adam's alter ego in a major lip lock with Lois Lane which was hard to watch for both of them.

"Chloe are you ok?" Clark said as they continued deeper into the club.

"Clark lets just get Adam home" Chloe said quietly and the Man of Steel knew she was hurting, badly.

Before another moment passed they heard a build up of a guitar echoing around the complex. The speakers echoed but then a light from the centre stage came to life and revealed 2 people.

Clark & Chloe approached to see T with a microphone in hand and a to Chloe's more extreme anger a certain Lana Luthor leaning seductively at his side.

Before Clark & Chloe could say anything to protest T raised the microphone as he did something very unexpected.

"I hear, a voice say "Don't be so blind"

"It's telling me all of these things"

"That you would probably hide!"

T sung with a perfectly toned voice to Chloe realized was from a band Lois liked called Saliva and the song was called Always, but why on earth was Adam singing it. As she noticed Adam's gazed fell completely to her as he continued to sing.

"Am I your one and only desire?"

"Am I the reason you breathe,"

"Or am I the reason you cry?"

Chloe felt her anger rise as she realized that the lyrics were being aimed at her and was embarrassed at how open Adam was making her feelings for him open like this.

Lana brushed a lock of his hair for comfort and also looking at Clark trying to show what he had lost which Clark just bottled his anger up.

Adam then raised his voice as he built up to the chorus.

"Always, always, always, I just can't live without you!"

"I love you, I breathe you, I taste you, I can't live without you!

"I just can't take anymore"

"This life of solitude"

"I guess that I'm out the door"

"And that I'm done with you."

The last part made a tear roll down her cheek at how hurt she was from the last part.

T had now decided to turn his attention to his next target his brother who just started back at him also taking a look at Lana which made T happy Clark was now it seemed envious of him for a change and that made T feel on-top of the world as he then continued aiming the lyrics at his brother.

"I feel, like you don't want me around"

"I guess I'll pack all my things"

"I guess ill see you around"

"It's all, been bottled up till now"

"As I walk out your door"

"All I can hear is the sound of Always, Always, Always, ALWAYS!"

The last word of the chorus that Adam shouted out made the complex shake slightly with the venom of his voice and emotion being felt across. Even Lana jumped at being in close quarters of him. As she slowly now realized his eyes were constantly glowing red now she could truly see the anger the rage in those fiery eyes she could see the beast, the animal that's cage was finally being unlocked.

She tried to sooth him by turning his head and passionately kissing him which made Chloe heart brake once more as she went to step forward but Clark grabbed her immediately whispering to her.

"Not Yet…"

Another shocking moment passed as Lana and Adam released there embrace was the man watching from the corner view.

Lex came into view anger filled and pulled out his silver 9mm caliber out and headed in the direction.

T noticed this and then concluded with the final verse of the song knowing that Lex would come for his wife.

"I feel, the blood all over your hands"

"Does it make you feel, more like a man?"

"Was i… just a part of your plan?"

"The pistol's shakin' in your hands"

"And all I hear is the sound!"

Lex cocked the gun and aimed it at Adam and pulled the trigger but not before Clark pushed the gun upwards so the bullet hit the roof.

"What are you doing!?" Clark said angrily that Lex would so easily try and take a life.

"Taking matters into your own hands!" Lex said angrily back waving his gun without realizing his gun went off.

T watched the angry exchange between Clark & Lex but then noticed Lex waving the gun he had in his hand but noticed Lex pulled the trigger without realizing but what T noticed was the gun was aimed in Chloe's direction.

The music and the surroundings instinctively slowed down to let T clearly see the bullet heading towards Chloe who was blissfully unaware of the deadly object heading right for her.

I cant let this happen he thought.

He dropped the mike and Lana with it as he lunged forward and headed straight for Chloe.

He managed to grab her waist and bring her down to the floor with him and the bullet flew over there heads and into a nearby window.

Chloe head spun as one minute she was standing up and now she was on the floor as a familiar figure was now lay protectively on her.

She looked up to see the blue eyes of Adam focused completely on her as he spoke.

"Chloe…" he ached out as he fought the Red-K with all his myte.

"…Adam?" she reached for his face but the Kryptonite crimson reappeared around his eyes as T's attention was drawn toward the person who fired that bullet.
He got up and headed straight for his target with a hatred he could not control.

Clark had only just realized the gun had went off for the second time and before he could react a hand grasp his shoulder and through him across the room with considerable force as he fell hard smashing a wooden table into pieces.

Lex didn't have a chance to react as a hand grasp around his throat it took him a moment to focus in to see a pair of menacing eyes staring intently into his own as a fully vengeful voice echoed into his ears.

"WHY WOULD YOU TRY AND TEAR A HOLE IN MY HEART?" He screamed as he could feel his head ache once more but this time it was even worse than in the barn. But he would not give up as his grasp grew even tighter as Lex began to gasp.

"WHY WOULD YOU TARE MY WORLD APART!" The voice was so loud that the windows around the complex broke into tiny pieces.

Clark slowly got up and noticed what Adam was about to do and also that there was a chance to end this.

"Chloe Now!"

The blond knew this was the chance they had to make the plan work as she picked out a small lead box from her coat and approach the distracted Adam.

But before she could reach Adam a very annoyed Lana Luthor stood in her way.

"Stay away from him…Adam is mine" she seethed only to have a fist from Chloe's free hand hit her square in the jaw sending the brunette flying to the ground unconscious.

Lex could feel dark clouds began to enter the corners of his vision as the lack of oxygen was now taking it's effects. T knew he could snap his neck in a instant but he wanted his vengeance at trying to take Chloe's life to be slow and painful.

"If only you knew Lex…" he said as he other hand held his head as the pain raged through him like an out of control tidal wave rushing through him.

"…if only you knew what exactly you are truly dealing with…ahh" his sentence was cut short as he felt something touch his back which stung immediately at his contact.

He released his grip around Lex who fell to the floor unconscious and T turned around to see holding a piece of rock which looked identical to kryptonite but it wasn't green so why did it hurt.
He looked at it closer and realized the kryptonite was black.

"What did you do?" he spoke out as he began to feel a build up of pain hit his chest.

"It's the only way to save you…" she slowly replied.

Without warning a huge ray of lights exited Adams/T's body and then two bodys emerged from the light who stared intently at eachother. One who eyes were laced with crimson was no doubtfully T, the other was standing there with blue eyes and extreme confusion in his surroundings which was no doubtfully Adam.

Adam without hesitation punched T hard in the face making his mirror duplicate flinch back as Adam shouted.

"Get out of my head!"

But T struck back with his fist with equal force but immediately wrapped his hands around Adams throat and said towering over him.

"You are NOTHING without me!" he thundered as his grasp tightened as he could here the sound of straining limbs around Adam's throat.

Adam in his gasping breaths looked to his side to see Chloe looking at him with fear as Clark who had recovered was holding her back from entering Adam & T ongoing battle.

Adam felt a rush of adrenalin fill his body as he did not be the last time he would see the people he cared about most. Adam grabbed the hand encircling his neck and lifted both from his throat.

T was realizing that the battle was turning in Adams favour and shouted in desperation as he knew the outcome was not good.

"You can't kill me…You need me!"

Adam brow furrowed as he clenched his fist to the point his knuckles were as white as the light surrounding them.

"No…I need them" his finger pointed to Chloe and Clark who could only watch on. With Adam's remaining strength he thrusted his clenched fist into T's chest who screamed out in pain and with a blinding light that ensued one body returned fell to the ground barely moving.

Clark and Chloe watched as whoever was now present stood up groggily and opened his eyes hesitantly as they noticed the calm blue irises of his pupils of Adams had returned.

Adam looked at the two onlookers who could only show a whisk of a smile that should have been there.

Just as that happened the rush of events of the past 6 hours breezed heavily into his mind like a strong gust of wind. He stumbled backwards as now he saw the why there was so much sadness and disappointment being shown on Chloe and Clarks face.

"What have I done…" he said with an ache that he felt all over as Adam couldn't bare to look at them because of the damage he had caused and with that not for the first time tonight he had run away from his fears.
