CHAPTER 20
A few hours past and Adam was now in the process of repairing everything Clark had already told Adam to let Chloe have some time. And with every reluctant fiber of his body Adam agreed to do so.
Now Adam found himself staring at the glass doors of the entrance at Lex's offices in LuthorCorp. This was a start to his trail of forgiveness, as he slowly opened the door with a deep breath, to find someone he didn't expect to see.
"Hello Adam…" the tall figure of Lionel Luthor stood by the desk turning to his attention. Adam immediately hesitated seeing the senior Luthor instead of his son, but Adam kindly replied.
"Lionel…I was actually looking for Lex" Adam said with a gulp of hesitancy as he concluded. Lionel replied unfazed by Adam's obvious uncomfortable stance.
"Lex and Lana have taken a 2 week vacation to sort out some issues…" Adam lips became rigid with guilt as he slowly lowered his head with shame.
"Trust me Adam…" Lionel then continued unexpectedly.
"…Mr. & Mrs. Luthor have had issues long before you even set foot in Smallville"
Adam looked up slightly trying not to meet his gaze in somewhat of fear as he knew who this man became last night.
"Well if you could tell him either way I am sorry for what happened and if I could reiterate that in person I will upon his return" Adam nodded and headed towards the door.
"Adam wait…" Lionel then stepped forward which Adam froze not daring to look back. When Adam did not speak Lionel decided he would instead.
"I know what you're thinking and I want to assure you that I am no threat to you…"
"No?" Adam turned immediately as he began to step towards Lionel who didn't faze at all.
"Right now all I can think is who are you? Are you Lionel Luthor? Or are you my farther?" Adam vented as Lionel merely sighed knowing Clark had yet to tell him true implications of his purpose.
"Adam all I can tell you is that I seemed to be a host that Jor-El, your farther inhibits when he feels he needs to intervene"
Adam looked at him curiosly.
"So is my farther with you now…?" Adam spoke slowly.
"No Adam…" But Lionel said stepped closer so he was in arms reach of the young kryptonian.
"…but when he has inhabited my body his feelings and memories are with me for the next few days until the transfer has fully wore off"
"But the one thing is clear in my mind right now…is that your farther is hoping that you will forgive him for what he had to do to save you…"
Adam felt his eyes begin to water as Lionel continued by putting a hand on his shoulder.
"…and that…he loves you…very much"
Adam just slowly nodded holding back the tear that was threatening to escape.
"Thank you…Lionel" he said making his way out of the door as Lionel concluded.
"Your welcome…Mr. Kent"
