CHAPTER EIGHT

Monday Morning.

Tetsuya blinked, half-awake, as he stared at the blank ceiling that stared back at him. He slowly turned to where his clock was to see that it was only six fifteen in the morning. The teal haired male sighed as he tried to go back to sleep to get some more sleep, but he found that he couldn't. Since he was already awake, he shook his blanket off his body and sat up. Tetsuya rubbed his eyes as he yawned, stretching his arms over his head. He slowly placed his foot on the floor, his bare feet touching the cold wood, making him shiver slightly. He sighed as he reminded himself to buy a pair of slippers when he has the spare time.

The teal haired male then proceeded to change in his uniform. He stared at the mirror. More precisely, he was staring at his reflection, as he was wearing the Kaijo's uniform for the first time. To be honest, he liked the Seirin's gakuran better, it was more comfortable. Kaijo's uniform was too...formal. But he was glad that he remembers how to tie a tie, since Teiko's uniform was also a uniform that had a tie. Tetsuya pushed his thoughts about Teiko away, as he proceeded to head downstairs for breakfast.

Yukio was already at the table when Tetsuya got down. Nigou was happily eating his own breakfast near the dining table. His stepfather and his mother was by the table as well, with Yuuta reading the newspaper and Manami eating her toast as she watches the morning weather forecast.

"Good Morning." the teal haired male greeted his family as he took his usual seat, the one beside his older brother.

And as usual, Yukio handed the younger teen his breakfast with more food than usual.

"Good Morning Tetsuya-kun." Yuuta greeted with a bright smile.

"Good Morning to you too sweetheart." Manami returned the greeting as she handed her son her hot chocolate.

"Morning..." Yukio greeted back while eating his toast.

Manami stood from her seat as she walked over to her youngest son, and combed his hair to tame the wild bed hair.

It was a quiet breakfast with a pleasant atmosphere. From time to time, Nigou would try to ask for food from Tetsuya, and the teal haired male slowly crumble from each second the puppy gives him the cutest puppy-eyes.

Around quarter to six, both Yukio and Tetsuya headed out of the house together.

The two of them walked together side by side, enjoying the peaceful silence that was shared.

Not until Yukio turned to the younger teen with a curious look "Are you...going to join the basketball club?"

Tetsuya returned the older teen's gaze "I'm not sure yet. But I will think about it."

"Are you going to be fine alone in school?" the older teen asks with a concerned look

The teal haired male gave Yukio a reassuring smile "I'll be fine, Yukio-san."

Yukio nearly sighed. Just when will Tetsuya call him with just his name? Or onii-san? He nodded as they returned to their quiet atmosphere once again.

"KASAMATSU-SEMPAAAAAI~!"

Spoke too soon.

Yukio looked back to see a tall, golden-haired teen was coming their way, running with bright sparkles all around him. The older teen was able to dodge the incoming glomp from the younger teen, moving to one side in the right timing, making the blonde trip on his own feet and land disgracefully on the ground.

Tetsuya was amused.

"So mean sempai." Kise whined as he stood from the ground.

"You don't glomp guys. And you're too loud." Yukio glares at the younger teen.

"I agree with Yukio-san." Tetsuya nodded.

"WAAAAH!" the blonde nearly screamed his head off as the teal haired male suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Kise-kun, you're too loud." the shorter male scolded.

"K-Ku-Kurokocchi! Since when were you there?! WAIT! Let me guess, you've been here the whole time!" There are now more sparkles around the blonde, making him shine even brighter that nearly hurt both Yukio and Tetsuya's eyes.

"Kise, you're too loud." Yukio repeated what his younger brother had said, and was tempted to give the kouhai a smack on the head as well.

"And Kise-kun, it's Kasamatsu now, not Kuroko." the teal haired male reminded Kise.

"Both of you are so mean to me~!" the blonde shed fake tears as he dramatically sobbed and sulked in a corner.

The Kasamatsu brothers ignored the sulking blonde as they continued to walk towards the school.

As they arrived at their school, it was nearly time for their homeroom class. Yukio gave Tetsuya a small ruffle on his hair before heading towards his classroom. The teal haired male waved good bye at his older brother with a small smile.

"Kurokocchi and Kasamatsu-sempai has become close, ne?" Kise commented out of nowhere as he watched the two brothers wave good bye at each other. He hasn't seen his former team mate smile like that.

Tetsuya's passive look returned as he turned to the taller blonde "It's Kasamatsu now, Kise-kun." the teal haired male reminded once more, ignoring what Kise had previously said.

Kise pouted "Kurokocchi will always be kurokocchi to me."

Before the taller blonde can do anything, there was a horde of girls screaming nearby, calling and screaming Kise's name as they ran towards him with hearts in their eyes. Kise spluttered as he started to run away from his fangirls, leaving the teal haired male behind.

"..." Tetsuya was used to situations such as this, since the same things happen in Teiko. Kise wasn't even a model that time and he was already popular with girls. The teal haired male headed towards his own classroom before the bell rings.

Before he could enter the classroom, someone bumped on the poor boy, causing him to nearly trip. Fortunately, the person who bumped onto him was fast enough to catch his arm and save him from falling on his butt.

"I'm sorry, I did not see you there." a monotonous voice said.

Tetsuya looked up to see a man in a suit with a young face. From the looks of it, he's a...teacher? He's carrying a clipboard and he's in a suit, so he must be. The teal haired teen nodded "Thank you, sensei. I apologize as well, I wasn't looking where I was going."

"It's fine. You look new here...are you the new student, Kasamatsu Tetsuya?" the monotonous voice did not change, he did not seemed surprise that he suddenly bumped onto someone or how small Tetsuya's presence was.

The younger Kasamatsu was interested in this fact, but this wasn't the time for that. "Yes, I am Kasamatsu Tetsuya."

The teacher nodded with a blank look "I am your homeroom teacher, Tatsunagi Kai. Wait here for a while, I'll call you in when I introduce you in class."

The teal haired male nodded "Yes sensei."

Tatsunagi-sensei nodded as he entered the classroom first. He settled down the class before starting to take down attendance. Tetsuya noticed that a certain blonde was running towards the classroom.

Kise has been running away from his fangirls nearly the whole morning before the the bell rang. He went up and downs of the school, trying to avoid the mob of fangirls that was after him. It was almost impossible to do, since everywhere he went, there would at least be a group of girls that would try to jump on him. He was saved when he heard the bell, which meant everyone has to go to class. But then he realized he was all the way from the swimming pool! He has to run as fast as he can so that he won't be as late.

The torure he went through from Akashi's training finally paid off.

"Kise, you're late." Tatsunagi-sensei pointed out as the blonde gave the teacher a weak smile.

"I was running away from fangirls, sensei." the blonde explained.

The teacher ignored the blonde.

"Class, we have a transfer student today. His name is Kasamatsu Tetsuya and he came from Seirin High." the teacher monotonously informed the class.

Whispers broke out among the students, half-excited and half-curious about the new student.

"Kasamatsu, please enter the class and introduce yourself." Tatsunagi-sensei called out for the teal haired male.

The rest of the class anticipated for the new student, only to see...no one.

Kise chuckled silently. He already knows what was going to happen next.

"Uhhh, sensei? Where is the new student?" one of the students asked with his hand raised.

"Hello, my name is Kasamatsu Tetsuya." the teal haired male introduced himself.

"WAAAH!"

The entire class - minus Kise - screamed at the suddent appearance of a teal haired male. in front of the class.

Tatsunagi-sensei did not react from such, once again, but proceeded to give the teal haired male a place to sit. "There's an empty seat behind Kise. You can sit there, Kasamatsu." he pointed at the blonde who was waving his arms like a mad man with sparkles everywhere around him.

The class, especially the girls, was surprised at the change of personality in the blonde. He was not the same charming and handsome model...he's more like a puppy who's master has just got home.

"..." Tetsuya really doesn't want to sit in such a place where the blonde could easily reach him. Wasn't it enough that they were in the same class? Now that he was going to sit behind the taller teen. The teal haired male slowly walked towards his seat, placing his things on the table and sitting down, not making a noise at all. He also noticed how the seating arrangement was similar to that of his old school.

The homeroom teacher patiently waited for the new student to sit on his place, before starting to make some announcements.

This was going to be a long day, Tetsuya thought.

Kise was trying his best to get away from his fangirls during lunch. He wanted to eat with Kurokocchi since it has been so long since he ate with the teal haired male. When the bell had rang for lunch, he turned behind him to ask the smaller teen if he wanted to eat lunch with him only to see an empty seat. Kurokocchi used misdirection on him! The blonde tried to look for the teal haired male, but his fans are making things harder for him. He ended up just running away from them.

Tetsuya passed by the crowd of girls that was trying to ask Kise for his autograph as he headed towards the cafeteria. As he turned to another corner, he felt someone bump on to him for the second time of the day.

"Tetsuya! I was trying to look for you!"

It was his older brother Yukio.

"Yukio-san, why are you trying to look for me?" the teal haired male asks.

"Mom made bento. You forgot to take yours." the older teen hands Tetsuya a bento that was wrapped in light blue handkerchief.

The younger teen felt nostalgic. It has been a while since he had a bento from mother. He took the bento from his brother with radiating happiness "Thank you, Yukio-san."

Yukio chuckled. His younger brother look so happy. "Why don't you eat lunch with me? I'm going to the roof with a friend of mine."

"Would it be ok for your friend for me to tag along?" the teal haired male asked. He was curious to see who this friend was.

"He won't mind." Yukio waved his hand in dismissal.

The friend Yukio was talking about was Moriyama. The other senior waved his hand at Yukio, as the Kasamatsu brothers headed towards his way with bento and drinks on their hands.

"So...I thought you were looking for your brother? Where is he?" Moriyama asked as he took the can of orange of juice.

"I'm right here, Moriyama-sempai." the teal haired male said, who was sitting beside Yukio.

Moriyama spat his drink from surprise, as he finally noticed the presence of Tetsuya. His presence is so low! How can someone live like that!? He coughed as he blushed in embarassment "Sorry, I didn't notice you there."

"It's alright, Moriyama-sempai." the younger teen said as he opened his bento. His bento was filled with many food, almost the same amount as his brother's servings.

"Mom knows you'll finish it as long as I'm around." Yukio said as he opened his own bento, one with normal sized servings. He offered the box to Moriyama, who happily took an octopus sausage.

Tetsuya stared at the bento, as he remembered his younger years when he would recieve bento as well. Those were happy times, when they were still...the teal haired male shook his head. He doesn't want to remember those times. He took his chopsticks and took a bite of his tamagoyaki. The taste was the same. It has been so long since he had his mother's bento.

Yukio noticed how nostalgic his younger brother looked when he ate his bento. When was the last time Tetsuya had a bento? With that look on his face, maybe for a long time.

The three of them ate their lunch on the roof top, Moriyama and Yukio talking most of the time, while Tetsuya watched the two of them. The teal haired male have never seen his older brother with any of his friends ever since he moved into their house. He sometimes wondered what kinds of friends Yukio-san have, but like he and Kagami-kun, his older brother also hang out with his team mate.

Few minutes before the bell, the three of them decided to head back to their classrooms. Yukio gave his younger brother his usual ruffle on the hair, before he and Moriyama headed towards their classroom. Tetsuya fixed his hair before waving goodbye at the two seniors before he headed towards his own classroom.

Kise was sulking on the corner of the classroom, depressed on how he wasn't able to eat lunch with his beloved Kurokocchi. And when he was finally able to get away from his fans...the teal haired male was nowhere to be found!

Kise was more determined when class ended. He took his timing perfectly and looked a minute before the bell rang. The teal haired male was there, sitting behind him with a blank look on his face. The blonde nearly cried out to the heavens, because he was finally able to catch the phantom.

"What is it, Kise-kun?" Tetsuya asked.

"Come with me to the gym! I'll introduce you to the team!" the blonde once again, sparkled brightly.

No matter how annoying the sparkles were, Tetsuya thought it was a good idea to watch the practice. He may have played against their team, but he wants to see how his brother plays outside the court. So he nodded, and stood from his seat, fixing his things before placing them inside his bag.

Kise brightened all the more when the teal haired male agreed to come with him. He instantly grabbed the smaller male and dragged him out of the classroom, practically carrying him towards the gym.

As they arrvied at the gym, the rest of the team was already there, already wearing their jerseys.

"Oi Kise, change into your jersey already. We're about to start." Yukio said as he stretched his arms.

"Yes sempaI! Oh, I brought Kurokocchi with me to watch the practice!" the blonde practically danced on the court in happiness.

"Kurokocchi? Who's that?" Genta asked. He was holding a clipboard on hand while facing Kasamatsu.

"It's Kasamatsu now, Kise-kun." the teal haired male, for the umpteenth time, reminded the blonde.

The rest of team spluttered in shock and surprise as they finally noticed the extra person inside the court. It was like a dejavu. Almost the same thing happened when they played their practice match.

"WHERE DID YOU COME FROOOOM!?" Hayakawa pointed at the teal haired male.

"I arrived at the same time as Kise-kun did. After all, he was dragging me." Tetsuya answered with a deadpan look.

"WAIT! Aren't you that invisible starter from Seirin!?" Genta said with a surprised look.

The teal haired male nodded. "I moved, so I have to move to another school as well."

"Did you just say that you're Kasamatsu?" Kobori asked, finally calmed down from the shock of Tetsuya's sudden appearance.

"His mom married my dad. He's my younger step brother." Yukio explained as he walked over to the shorter teen and ruffled his hair.

Tetsuya learned to get used to the older teen's way of affection, even though it kind of messed his hair a little. Besides, he liked how Yukio's fingers felt soothing on his head.

'So adorable...' the rest of the team thought as they watched the two Kasamatsu brothers.

"Anyways, this Moriyama, he wears the number five jersey and the shooting guard of the team. The hotheaded idiot over there is Hayakawa, he wears the number ten and the power forward of the team. Our tallest, Kobori, is the one who wears the number eight jersey and our center." Yukio introduced each of the regulars, while Tetsuya tried to memorize each names.

"How about you join the Kaijo's team?" the coach suddenly asked out of nowhere as he grabbed the teal haired male's shoulders. This way, they would have two Generation of Miracles players! He saw how amazing the phantom sixth man's ability and skills are when they played for a practice match.

Tetsuya was surprised. He never thought that the coach of Kaijo himself would ask him to join the team. He badly wanted to join, but he knew that that would be breaking the oath. And breaking the oath meant disobeying Akashi...

The teal haired male shook his head with an apologetic smile "Thank you for the offer, but...I cannot be on a team where there is another Miracle in the team. It would be unfair for the others." Tetsuya rejects the offer, even though he badly wanted to play.

Genta was disappointed with the answer, but that doesn't mean there's no more hope! "Then how about the mangager's spot? If you can't play, then at least be the manager of this team!"

The younger teen blinked. Manager...? He never really thought of that. Even though he would be in the same team as Kise-kun, they wouldn't be playing together. That way...he could still be able to help the other Generation of Miracles through the Kaijo team even if he won't play! He would just have to...leave the job to Kise-kun. Tetsuya thought hard, contemplating whether he should take it or not.

"If you're not yet sure, you can still think about it and give me the answer anytime." Genta said as he waved his clipboard before telling his players to get started for a warm-up.

The teal haired male nodded as he headed to the bleachers where he watched the Kaijo team train. He could think about the manager spot later. For now, he would rather watch his brother play.

As soon as the team was done practicing, Kise turned to the teal haired male with a large smile on his face.

"Kurokocchi, do you want to get ice cream after?" the blonde offered.

Before Tetsuya can even give a reply, the older Kasamatsu intervened as he bluntly hit Kise on the head.

"That'll ruin his apetite!"

"So mean, sempai" the blonde whined as he sulked.
