CHAPTER THIRTEEN
"Mama, why is Papa mad all the time?"
The teal haired woman gently brushed her son's silky teal hair, much like her own with a sad smile on her beautiful, young but weary face. "Papa is just...very tired. That's why we must be strong for him."
Five years old Kuroko Tetsuya still doesn't understand why his father was still mad. How can Papa be tired when he doesn't have a job and all he does is...drink that weird bottled drinks and lock himself in his room.
And for the next six years, he had learned to make himself invisible. Reduce his presence so that his father won't notice him. Blend into the background so that his father can't hurt him no more.
Manami hummed as she stirred the pot filled with ramen. Tonight, the four of them are going to have ramen for dinner. A warm, good, traditional ramen for both her adorable sons who are working so hard in their basketball practice. She had noticed her youngest son's sudden lack of sleep, seeing as there are dark circles under his eyes and bumping onto walls when he momentarily closes his eyes without his knowing.
"Manami-chan, is dinner ready?"
Yuuta wraps his arms around his wife's waist, snuggling against the smaller body. He's very lucky to have married someone like his beautiful Manami who has the skills of heavenly cooking. Not only that, an additional son! One who Yukio has become attached to!
The teal haired woman chuckled. "It's almost ready darling. Can you please call Yukio down? And have Tetsuya set up the plates?"
"Of course darling!"
Tetsuya watched both his parents be lovey dovey with a deadpan expression.
Yukio watched both his parents be lovey dovey with a deadpan expression.
The four of them are eating their dinner by the dining table with their usual arrangement. Yuuta by the head of the table, Manami on his left, and his two sons on the left. Both husband and wife flirted and exschanged pet names and such. Tetsuya wasn't sure whether to keep watching (it's like that moment where something happens in front of you that its neither good or bad but you just can't look away) or continue eating his ramen. Yukio urged his younger brother to continue his dinner whilst he ignored the lovey dovey couple in front of them.
But both teens are happy for their parents. Manami needed someone to pay attention and take care of her, and Yuuta needed someone who would give him tender affection, love and care. And because of their love, Tetsuya and Yukio have become brothers.
After dinner, both brothers washed and cleaned the dishes, while their parents relaxed on the living room.
"Mother is very happy." Tetsuya said as he wiped the plate and placed it on the rack.
Yukio nodded in agreement. "She is."
"Yuuta-san is making her happy."
The older Kasamatsu nodded again. "He is."
"...can I call him Papa, from now on?"
On the other side of the room, Yuuta's gaze sharped and stood from the coach while his wife gave him a curious look. He gave Manami a reassuring smile before he walked to the kitchen with a large, goofy smile on his face.
"Of course you can call me Papa, Tetsuya-kun!"
The teal haired teen jolted in surprised, and relieved that he's not holding any plate ware or else he might have dropped it at that point. "Yu-Yuuta-san?!"
Yukio was not surprised. His father has unbelievable sense of hearing, much like how their mother have an unbelievable sense of sight.
The man ruffled his youngest son's hair and chuckled. "No, no, you have to call me Papa from now on."
"Oh my, is Tetsuya-kun finally opening up to his Papa? This is good news! We must celebrate this!" Manami gushed. Her baby boy finally calling Yuuta Papa.
And the rest of the night was spent eating deserts in celebration of Yuuta finally becoming a Papa. For the second time.
