Okay! This is probably going to be the last chapter in this book! But don't be alarmed; book two will be out shortly!
Please Review!
"M-Mother?" Crystal whispered, astonished, as Glacier rushed forward to embrace her.
"I'm so sorry I lost you…" Glacier croaked her voice weak with joy. "I'll never let you go again…" she sobbed, trembling. Crystal's wide eyes closed and she rested her head against her mother's shoulder.
"Glory?" Starflight piped up, scrambling to his feet.
"Starflight!" Glory raced over to the shackled NightWing and tore the chains away from his wings. "Starflight! We never thought we'd see you again!" she exclaimed.
"Did I hear Deathbringer? And Exotic? And….who are the other four?" he trembled anxiously.
"Yes you did hear Deathbringer and Exotic! And Turquoise and Nish are here too! Along with their friends….a SkyWing and the IceWing princess." She explained, her throat rumbling happily. Her happiness was cut short as she realized something. "They all know now…about the prophecy…" she sighed. Starflight rested his talons on her shoulder to comfort her.
"Hey, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm just glad everyone's alright." He sighed. Glacier stepped aside and made her way over to the eight dragons.
"How can I ever repay you?" she asked. Crystal padded to her side, wearing a beautiful tiara on her head. Glory dipped her head respectfully.
"I don't think that will be necessary." She smiled.
Turquoise, Wildfire, and Nish were saying their goodbyes to Crystal, all three whimpering sadly at the thought of losing their good friend. "Actually…." Glory said thoughtfully. "Can we all be more careful to share our borders and territories?" she asked. "We shouldn't separate these four after all they've been through…" Glacier nodded respectfully.
"I can see that that would make my beautiful Crystal happy as well…." Glacier smiled and Crystal nodded in agreement.
"Wildfire….where will you go?" Turquoise asked as the three remaining dragonets soared side-by-side. Wildfire shrugged.
"I don't know…I guess I really wanna stay with you guys….but I feel like…like something is pulling me somewhere else. I just haven't quite figured it out yet." He said thoughtfully. They glided down to a cliff and he sighed, embracing Turquoise. "You know, Nish…..I always knew that you were jealous of me…"
"Jealous?" Nish coughed weakly, shuffling with embarrassment. "No…" Wildfire's gaze softened.
"I knew that I was threatening you by being so close to Turquoise all the time….And I did love her….I can't deny that."
"What?" Turquoise shook her head in surprise.
"It's true….and for that, Nish…I apologize." He dipped his head to his hybrid friend. "I always could see that she had chosen you….and now, my heart belongs to someone else…" the two hybrids were well aware that he meant Skylight.
"You can go to her….go and be with her forever….she told you, you could, remember?" Turquoise urged her friend. Wildfire's eyes brimmed with tears. He wrapped his huge wings around them and held them close.
"I'm really gonna miss you guys!" he sobbed, and Turquoise felt tears roll down her cheeks at the thought of never being with him and Crystal ever again….memories played behind her eyes…the four joking around, getting out of trouble together….Wildfire worrying about her instead of himself….Crystal shoving everyone around and keeping them in place….It was all gone now, and the memories taunted her and tugged at her heat mercilessly, but she knew it was their destiny.
"Goodbye Wildfire…" Turquoise whimpered. "I'll miss you forever and ever…Please come and visit us….or we'll visit you…..And so will Crystal…" with a pang, Turquoise realized that their lives would be so much more different now….If Wildfire stayed with the princess….he would become a prince…And Crystal was a princess….and if she stayed with Nish, they would be the prince and princess of the NightWings and the RainWings…She would lose this precious relationship forever…
Wildfire unfurled his wings and took off, soaring towards the Sky Palace.
"I'm going to miss him…" Nish sighed, staring at the ground in shock. Their journey seemed to have been so short…and yet, they were no longer the childish, immature dragonets they had been previously….they were more grown up….wiser….Turquoise glanced up and Nish and kissed him on the muzzle. His eyes widened with shock and then closed as he turned to kiss her back. As they drew away from each other, Nish's eyes grew wide again. "So….it was me? You chose me?" he asked in shock.
"Oh, Nish…It was always you….you were always in my heart just as much as I was in yours…." She whispered, wrapping her wings around him to hug him firmly.
"I will always love you….prophecy or not….forever and ever….I swear…" Nish breathed in her ear. He hugged her back and felt as if he never wanted to let go. This was something they would never lose…
Crystal stayed to help her mother govern the Ice Kingdom, and still managed to visit her friends almost every month…
Wildfire was reunited with Skylight, who obviously let him stay with her….they are currently the prince and princess of the Sky Kingdom….their love is undeniable…
Exotic and Glory govern the Rainforest and NightWings as a team. No bitter feelings are left between them…
Starflight returned to find Fatespeaker and their egg….he is worried about becoming a father…
Sunny returned to the Kingdom of Sand to be with her mother, Thorn…She is not exactly a princess and is actually quite okay with that….
Tsunami returned to the SeaWings and her sisters and many, many brothers…she is now a future mother with Riptide as the father to-be of her egg…
Clay returned to Peril, where he found he had a daughter…her name is Venus…
Turquoise and Nish are the prince and princess of the NightWings and the RainWings…they disappear every so often to visit some friends of theirs…
Crystal, Wildfire, Turquoise, and Nish get together often, writing scrolls about their past experiences and laughing about the dragonets they once were…they often go back to the time when they had all just met….and they let their childish sides resurface…Their love is the strongest kind…And it is unbreakable…
Oh….my…..goodness…..Writing this chapter….I sobbed…..I didn't want them to have to separate! :'(
I'm not kidding…I cried. Dang book two is going to be so hard to write without my babies in it….
Anyway, if your characters didn't appear in this book, it is because I have plans for them in book two!
