Chapter 19

Third Person's POV

20 minutes before Peter and Charlotte's arrival...

To say that there was tension between Jasper and Bella since the revelation of their being mates would be like saying the guy who plays Eric Northman is 'a bit of alright'. A big understatement.

The tension between the two of them, or rather the glares of death from Bella to Jasper, were so powerful that Rosalie and Emmett were both relieved they were vampires. A human would have undoubtedly died from terror, alone. Emmett didn't even dare to crack jokes for fear that he, himself, would be on the receiving end of his baby sister's glare and given that he was already aware of her being mated to Jasper. Well, he was just relieved that she took Rosalie's feelings into consideration otherwise she most likely would have hacked him into little pieces and hide them all over the world.

A fear he wasn't about to voice.

"Say, Bella. What do you say you and I leave these two morons and have an intelligent conversation?" Rosalie suggested casually.

"Hey!" Emmett and Jasper protested.

However a quick glare from the women soon silenced them both.

"Sure." Bella replied

And with that Rosalie and Bella headed off into the forest.

"Do you think Rosalie will be able to talk Bella out of killing me?" Jasper asked his brother nervously.

Emmett looked at his brother rather sadly.

"Truthfully? You've got better odds of Rosie helping her getting rid of your body." Emmett told him.

Rosalie and Bella walked in silence until they were both certain that their mates wouldn't hear their conversation.

"How you are you holding up?" Bella asked Rosalie in concern.

Rosalie looked at Bella in shock.

"Me? What about you? B, you just found out that Jasper is your mate and odds are good that the psycho fuckers have known from the beginning." Rosalie replied stunned.

Bella turned to look at Rosalie confused.

"You mean psychic." Bella corrected.

"No...I got it right the first time. Psycho." Rosalie stated firmly. "As well as controlling. Manipulative. Whiny. Bitchy." Rosalie added. "You know what, I'm going to stop there because this shit could go on all night." Rosalie finished.

Bella smirked in response as Rosalie had a point. When it came to insulting the demented twins, you really could go forever if the mood struck you.

"You know what gets me, it's that the entire vampire world think that Jane and Alec are the twisted twins." Bella replied in disbelief.

Rosalie stopped in her tracks, causing Bella to turn and look back at her.

"Well...aren't they?" Rosalie asked uncertain, worried about offending her new found sister by association.

"Let's just say they purposefully have their moments, mostly to ensure only the fucking insane and suicidal make an attempt on the Volturi." Bella replied.

Rosalie couldn't think of anything to say to this, so she just kept quiet and started walking again. After a little while Bella spoke again.

"Look, I know that when I was human Jasper never lied to me and I dare say he'd rather have his flesh carved off than lie to me now. But..." Bella began but Rosalie finished her sentence for her.

"It's difficult to believe someone else saying that you're mates after fuckward." Rosalie chimed in.

Bella gave her a look as if to say 'exactly'.

"Trust me, if there's one person on Earth who knows exactly how you feel right now it's Jasper and it's not because he's an empath." Rosalie told her assuredly.

Bella stopped and looked at Rosalie confused.

"Alice and his maker both spun the exactly same bullshit that Edward spun you." Rosalie told her gently.

Bella looked stunned at this, she suspected that Alice had spun it. Especially given that Edward had told her that Alice and Jasper were mates but she never knew about his mate. Then again, she didn't really know anything about Jasper. It's a little difficult to get to know someone when you have people keeping you apart.

"Hold on a minute...he doesn't think that Alice and Edward knew the truth does he?" Bella asked in disbelief.

Surely they wouldn't be that cruel?

Rosalie squirmed.

Bella felt her eyes narrow in anger as a snarl rips from her lips.

"If that all-seeing slut thinks she knows what awaits her, she is in for a painful shock." Bella hissed coldly through clenched teeth.

Rosalie, despite already have a good idea as to how dangerous a pissed Bella could be, was thankful that she wasn't going to be on the receiving end of this anger. Not wanting to run the risk of Bella's anger reaching Jasper, Rosalie decided to distract her.

"Did I mention Emmett went through a tree?" Rosalie asked.

Bella did a double take.

"He what?" She asked in disbelief.

The two women stared at each for a moment before exploding into hysterical laughter. Their laughter caused sleeping animals to run from the predators that were in their habitat. The two eternally young women laughed for what could have been hours but eventually the laughter died down.

"Will their faces ever go away?" Bella suddenly asked, her voice no longer filled with laughter but pain.

Rosalie sobered up instantly.

"They haven't for me. Maybe they never will..." Rosalie said in a toneless voice before looking Bella in the eye. "but we have Emmett. And we have Jasper. Hell, you still have your Dad and a new step-Mom in Victoria of all women. They'll always be there to pick us up when it becomes to much." Rosalie assured her as she took hold of Bella's hand.

"When Victoria arrived in that gave with my Dad...they both went completely insane. Dad literally ripped off his badge and was advancing on them, he was ready to kill them then and there. But Victoria wouldn't let him, said that if he gave up his morals now he'd be forever doomed like she was." Bella said softly, her eyes unfocused, seeing into the past. "She killed the ring leader first, made an example out of him. I was mostly out of it by that point but...the screams from my rapists...it left very little to the imagination." She added.

Rosalie took in a shuddering breath, desperately trying to keep herself from sobbing hysterically. It was the last thing that Bella need right now.

The two of them sat in complete silence for a really long time before Bella quickly stood up.

"We should head back, we should know better than to leave Emmett and Jasper alone for too long." She said, forcing fake cheer into her voice.

Rosalie smiled a forced smile, she knew the tactic well. After all she had used it countless times herself with Emmett when she slowly told him about everything that had happened to her at the hands of the one man she shouldn't have been able to trust completely.

"You're right. They're probably using the trees as balloon animals by now." Rosalie replied.

Bella looked at her confused.

"Why do I get the feeling they've actually done that?" She asked.

"Because they have, well, sort of." Rosalie replied with a shake of her head.

How they managed to avoid being discovered after that night she'll never know. As Rosalie and Bella talk a slow walk back to Emmett and Jasper, Rosalie told her all about the time when Emmett and Jasper had decided to use some of the trees surrounding their home at the time as balloon animals. Naturally it didn't work, even with them being vampires so instead just decided to carve out some animals instead.

"Their teeth!" Bella said shocked at the end of the story.

Rosalie nodded.

"Yep, those two idiots used their teeth to carve animals out of the trees they'd uprooted." Rosalie repeated the end of her story.

"I shudder to think how they turned out." Bella replied with a shake of her head.

"Oh they were terrible, pretty sure they were both terrified of their own creations. I know I was." Rosalie replied.

"In that case we better pick up the pace a little." Bella said.

Rosalie looked at her sternly.

"Absolutely. Wouldn't want the trees to freak them out." Rosalie said seriously.

The two of them looked at each other for a second before bursting into hysterical laughter.

It took a at least ten minutes before the laughter eventually died down and they both silently agreed that it was time to continue the trek back to the side of the road.

Just as Bella and Rosalie were starting a slow trek back to the main road where they had left Emmett and Jasper. Rosalie sneaked a glance to her sister and instantly knew she was still royally pissed at Jasper for not telling her the truth about their being mates.

"Nobody but himself to blame on that score," Rosalie thought to herself.

She knew that it was going to be explosive when he admitted the truth to Bella. How could it be anything less after what that shit Edward did to her? In fact, as far as Rosalie was concerned, what Edward and Alice both did to Bella was just as bad as being raped.

Knowing that she knew what they were doing to Bella and never once doing anything to stop them, it made Rosalie feel more awful than she could ever possibly begin to explain. The way they would control Bella, it was no wonder that the human world saw vampires as monsters. Then again, Rosalie can't help but think about Esme and realised that humans are just as monstrous as vampires.

"How long are you going to torture Jasper for?" Rosalie suddenly asked, she needed to stop her thoughts dead in their tracks. Before the guilt of doing nothing to protect her sister swallowed her whole.

Before Bella could answer her sister's question a horrific sound reached their vampire ears and it brought them both to a terrified halt.

A/N: There we go, I kept going back and fourth on how best to write the conversation and just added a little extra to the closing scenes so it'll make more sense.

As I'm sure you have all noticed, Married To A Vampire has been re-posted and edited. That story will be updated every 2-4 weeks. I promise to have the next chapter up by no later than next Friday.
