OH MY GOOOOOOOSH! I'VE BEEN GONE FOR SOOOOOOOOO LONG!
I've experienced a very long bout of writers block and also my life has gotten way busy, but HERE I AM WITH AN UPDATE AT LAST. It's short I know, but consider it a filler until I get things going again full steam ahead!

"Vicki!" A whisper between the bars of her cell.

That voice! Oh how glad she was to hear that voice. But… no. He shouldn't be here! He was in danger!

"Judd?" Vicki whispered back crawling through the dark towards the voice until a dim light from the hall illuminated his face.

"I'm here, it's okay." He replied reaching between the bars and cupping her face and gently running his fingers over her bruised cheeks.

"What are you doing here? You can't be here!" she whispered, panicked.

"Shh." Judd cooed, stroking her hair, "I'm okay, I'm taking you home."

"How did you get here!?" she demanded, "You have to go! They want to ki-"

She was cut off by her worst fear. The Commander, grabbing a handful of Judd's hair and pulling him away from the bars.

"No!" she screamed, trying to clutch to his shirt to no avail.

Fulcire smiled a smile that could only be described as demonic.

"What'd I tell you kid?" he spat at her.

Judd looked at her wide-eyed as Fulcire leveled the pistol to his head.

"I love you." He said before Fulcire pulled the trigger.

Vicki woke up in a cold sweat with a scream. Her heart was racing and blood was pounding in her ears. She shook uncontrollably as she tried to sit up. She hugged her knees to her chest as tears began to flow. With every lonely night that went past, she became more and more convinced that she would never see Judd again… or if she did it would be as a bullet was fired through his skull. She sobbed into her knees. She was completely losing hope. This was the end. She came through the years of Tribulation so far, she had survived apocalyptic earthquakes and metors, demon locusts and heat waves, she had been chased across the country and defied the Antichrist himself, all to die in this lonely, grey, dank cell, miles away from her husband and friends. She thought about what death woud be like. The obvious upside was being reunited with her family and friends who had gone before. Her mom and dad and Jeanni and Eddie. Bruce, Ryan, Chaya, John and so many more. She smiled at the thought of seeing them again, but her happiness was cut short when her mind wandered back to her friends that were still alive. What would happen if she died? How would Judd react? Would he lose his mind? Would he break down? Would he mourn for long? Would he have to move on and keep fighting? Would he do something stupid and get himself into trouble? The last option was the most likely. In her mind, if she died, Judd would go off the handle and do something ridiculous that cause himself to fall right into the GC's hands. Vicki sighed and rested her head back against the wall, staring into the darkness of the cell. This was going to be it for sure. Suddenly, the darkness of the room was filled with a warm glowing light. Vicki panicked. What was going on now? With the light, came a supernatural feeling of peace that washed over her, replacing her fear and hopelessness.

"Vicki," a voice came, "Don't be afraid."

A figure appeared, a giant but humanlike figure with a kind face. An angel! This wasn't the first time she had been visited by a messenger from God and she'd forgotten how scarily wonderful it was.

"Don't fear, don't lose hope. God is with you and He is protecting your loved ones. Right now, they seek you."

"No." Vicki replied, her voice shaking, "They can't. The GC will catch them! It's a trap!"

The angel smiled at her, "Relax, everything's going to be all right; rest, everything's coming together; open your hearts, love is on the way!"

And with that, he was gone. The room reverted to its gloomy dark state. Vicki noticed she wasn't shaking anymore. Tears still lined the rims of her eyes but she felt a strong sense of peace deep inside. She was still scared. But she believed what they messenger said. God was watching over her, and he was protecting her loved ones. She felt hope at last. Judd was coming for her, but he was protected. Maybe this wasn't the end.

I hope you enjoyed! It's good to be back!

Peace xo
