WhatNinja: Without further ado, chapter 3. We start on our journey on why she became….unstable. ALSO, CHECK OUT STORY UPDATES 3
Recap: We found out that Natsu kicked Lucy off the team on her birthday and her mother's death anniversary, even though Lisanna didn't want it. She left crying.
Lucy cries her heart out on her bed in her apartment. It's not fair…what did I do to have them forget me? To ignore me…..to leave me. Was I just a replacement to them? A fill in for Lisanna? Well they got her back. I'm happy for them, they lost a family member that pretty much came back from the dead. I just wish I got to know her. She seemed like such a nice person. Heck, if she is Mira and Elfman's sibling she must be nice.
Lucy slowly stops crying and sits up from her bed. She looks around her room and is filled with all the times her team…no ex-team, came barging into her apartment. Her heart aches at the memories. Maybe I should just leave. It's probably for the best. She looks around her apartment again. Yeah, I will just leave. Lucy gets up and summons Virgo.
"Princess, brother felt your distress bit couldn't come due to a meeting. He said whoever you called has to find out what wrong and to report back to him. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine Virgo….sort of…..not really. I will talk about it later okay? For now, can you just pack up all my stuff and store it in the spirit world. Everything can go, except my desk, papers, novel, and my box of letters to mom."
"Of course princess. I will get started right away."
"Thanks Virgo. I will be back in a bit."
"Be safe Princess."
"I will. See you later."
Lucy leaves her apartment and walks down the street to Fairy Tail. She thinks back to all the times they shared, be it good or bad. She looks at the sky, it's turning night. Was I crying that long? She reaches Fairy Tail and takes a breath and exhales. "Okay, let's do this." She walks in and as usual no one notices or greets her. She solemnly walks up to the second floor and softly knocks on Markov door. A muffled 'come in' is heard. She walks in and closes the door behind her with a soft click. She sits in one of the seats in front of his desk. She looks at the floor. Markov looks at her sadly, knowing where this talk will go. "My child, what is it? Are you okay?"
"Master…." She speaks softly. "I wish to leave Fairy Tail. I can't stay here anymore…not like this" Her voice cracks as she tries to stay composed. Markov feels his heart break at someone wanting to leave. Alas he must respect her wish. "Is this what you truly want?" She nods. "I can't stay in a place the doesn't even know I exist. Watching day and night everyone having fun and being happy, while I stay alone and forgotten. You once said that one's happiness is everyone's happiness. And one's sadness is everyone's sadness. Well, that isn't true anymore, so yes. This is what I truly want." "…I understand. Although it pains me to see a family member go, I will respect your wish." He gets up and stands next to Lucy. He takes hold of her hand that has her guild mark and murmurs some words she did hear. Her pink guild mark glows pink and peels off her hand like a sticker and floats up a few inches. She looks at it wonder. It glows a bit brighter before fading in a flurry of pink and gold sparkles. During the whole process both Markov and Lucy started silently crying. Markov then brings Lucy in for a final hug good bye. She hugs back leaning on his shoulder. "I'll miss you Mas- Markov. You were like a father I never had." "I'm honored you feel that way. You will always be a child of mine, no matter what" She cries a bit louder at that. She hugs him tighter for awhile longer before finally calming down. They release the hug and she stands. She smiles for the first time in so long. "Good bye Markov." "Good bye my child and good luck. Know that you are always welcome to come back." "Thank you. I will try to keep in touch." Lucy leaves the office and heads to the guild doors. She opens them and looks back sadly. "Good bye Fairy Tail….." She leaves the guild for the final time and head back to her apartment. It was at this moment, the light of Fairy Tail was no more.
She goes into her now empty apartment where Virgo was waiting patiently. "Princess, I finished your request. Everything but the specific items you mentioned are in the spirit world. I left a bag with clothes and other necessities for you to take on your journey. Punishment?" Lucy smiles a bit. "No punishment Virgo. Thank you." "If nothing else is needed I shall take me leave." "Bye Virgo, thanks for your help." "Anytime princess." She bows and disappears back to the spirit world. Lucy sits at the desk to write letters to Fairy Tail and her team. She leaves a separate letter for Levy on top of the novel. Even though she was forgotten she will still keep her promise. She walks to the door and looks at her now empty apartment. She starts to tear but stops herself. I cried long enough. No more tears. She leaves and closes the door behind her and heads to her land lady's office. She drops off her final month of rent and says her goodbye to the landlord.
She heads to the train station, buys a ticket to the farthest place from Fairy Tail and boards the train. She sits in an empty compartment and looks at the passing scenery. Suddenly Loki appears next to her using his own magic. "Princess? Are you okay? Virgo told me what you said. Want to talk about it?" She knows she can't bottle up her emotions, it's unhealthy. Still, she hesitates before telling him. She explains all that has happened. Lisanna returning, the guild ignoring and or forgetting, her feelings and troubles…..team Natsu. She started to cry again near the end of her story. Loki embraces her whispering words of comfort and her keys shimmer as if comforting her too. Eventually, she falls asleep exhausted from the day. Loki stays by her side the entire time.
Eventually, the train stops at its last destination, Ourania. The town of Stars.
