Chapter 2: I need your help

Juliet's POV:

"Look Juliet I need your help" rioketsu said to me, but I wondered what could I do to help a shinigami "help with what?" I asked. I was not prepared for his response "to save L from dying" I almost choked myself with my on saliva "you want me to help you save L" I responded with disbelief "yep" rioketsu nodded with his arms crossed, "why would you care if L lived or died?" I asked with a blank face "in the real story line L does not die" I looked at him surprised

"So if L wasn't supposed to die then why did he?" I asked with interest, curse my detective side "Ryuk" rioketsu responded

"Light's shinigami of course" I narrowed eyes "yep" rioketsu responded serious "how?"

"Ryuk was forbidden to "drop" his death note in the human world because of a previous incident that shall not be spoken of"

"Okay"

"So will u help me?" I turned away from rioketsu thinking. When I finally made my decision I turned to him "yes" I responded with a smile I wasn't gonna pass an opportunity to meet L. "really? Great that was easy but I knew I picked the right human" rioketsu responded not believing that I would help him without thinking twice about it

"But there is one thing I don't get"

"What?"

"How does a Manga, that's not real and is only a book, affect us?" I asked

"Juliet I know this is hard to believe but trust me when tell you there are more worlds out there than I can count and every world out there is connected, to such a degree that the things that happen in here can very much affect you and your world" rioketsu responded with a serious tone, but his mood completely changed from serious to happy "anything else no? Okay"

"I wonder what light will think of me when I meet him" I said in wonder and somewhat dreamy eyes "what? But I thought you wanted to save L!" rioketsu screamed in fear that he made a mistake in choosing me. "I do but I can be on light side and find information faster"

"Oh you mean like a double agent" rioketsu said exited once again for some strange reason "yep now let's go" I said with a smile turning away from him starting to walk out of the ally until I heard him say "wait! " he said quickly grabbing my hand "I don't advice you to use your real name" rioketsu responded

"I wasn't planning on it" I said with a blank face he then let go of my arm and said "oh then what's your name?" I smirked at him and said "kiome, kiome Higurashi"

"Hmm not bad" but then my smirk turned into a frown "wait! What about money? Food? Shelter?" I screamed panicked thinking how would survive

"Calm down when you said you "name" money accounts were created in your name. You'll have enough to survive" rioketsu responded with bored tone "oh okay then let's go buy an apartment"

A few hours later we finally found a house I liked and was in my prince range "I can't believe you got this house for 900$ (0_0)" rioketsu responded with a WTF face as I like to call it. "Yeah well I got a gift for "negotiating" with people" I said with satisfied grin "If by negotiating you mean threatening and blackmailing the dealer then yes you do have a gift"

I shrugged him off and walked away to where the couch is and grabbed the remote "lets watch some TV" When I turn on the TV I see a guy talking about catching kira and then I realize it was the criminal L used to trick kira to know which country he was in.

I kept watching the news until the criminal died and the letter L appeared in the screen basically telling kira that he was stupid and arrogant and that he knew where he was and that's his gonna catch him. I turned off the TV "I better start making my move" I said with narrowed eyes at the TV "And exactly what do you plan on doing?" rioketsu asked curious of my first move "well first things first I have to find a ally" I responded

"And how do you plan on getting one?" rioketsu asked

"oh I've got the perfect person in mind" I said with smirk

"Oh I don't like that look in your face" said rioketsu my smirked disappeared "what look?" a smirk appeared in his on face and said "Oh nothing don't worry about"

"Fine don't tell me. I don't want to know anyways" I turned away from him slightly pouting "Hahaha don't be like that Kiome I was just joking" Rioketsu say's poking my cheeks. I bat his finger away and walk toward the couch and sitting down "Anyway it will be a while before my player comes out to play so I must be patient."

"Ha! Good luck with that" he turned away from me, I through a book at his head. He turned around and screamed "Hey!" I looked away from him "Hmph sorry" I laugh looking at my coffee table when I see the death note that the old man had given me. "Hey Rioketsu do you know anything about this note book" He turned to me and when he saw the note book in my hands his eyes widen "where did you get that" he walked towards me and grabbed it began to examine it "A weird old man gave to me saying 'remember keep it close to you at all times while you're there' weird right?" He looked back at me "his right, never lose this Kiome its very important" I looked back at him serious "how so?"

"It can very well help us in our journey but hope we won't have to use it and let's just leave it at that ok?" he gave it back to me and turned away deep in thought 'hmm what's so great about notebook that's living him so… worried'
