Meeting You Ch. 10
AN: I know it has been a long time coming but here is the newest chapter of Meeting You.
Once again, the two males in the Jeep were astonished at the size of the Ambassador's house.
"Ok, guys, you can close your mouths. Like I said earlier, Emily's house is much bigger," Bianca said as she got out of the car.
"Miss Bianca, you're home from school early," Albert said as he opened the door.
"Only home for the day, Albert," Bianca said as the rest of the group entered the foyer. "Just came to show a few friends around the place."
Twenty minutes later the group was back in the Jeep and headed to the first museum of the day.
"I told you my house wasn't as big," Bianca said as they left her subdivision.
"But you have a fountain in the foyer," Sam said as he looked back towards his girlfriend's house.
"And Emily's has a gym, pool, and guest house," Bianca said as Emily pulled into the National Museum of Natural History parking structure.
"I figured that we'd park here for the day and walk around to the other museums," Emily said as she pulled into a parking spot. "That ok with everyone else?"
"That's fine," Aaron says as they all climb out of the Jeep.
Five hours later
"Wow, you both sure know your way around the city," Sam said as they arrived back at the car.
"It's called having nothing to do during Christmas break and trying to find something that won't get you into trouble," Emily said as she backed out of the parking spot and headed towards her house.
"It's also trying to stay away from your house so that you don't have to deal with your parents constantly trying to sign you up for something that you aren't interested in," Bianca said. "Remember knitting lessons, Em?"
"You knit?" Aaron asked as he looked at Emily.
"Thanks, B," Emily said. "No, I don't knit but that was one Christmas break that I'd prefer not to talk about."
"Come on there has to be a story there," Sam said.
"Either you tell it or I tell it and embellish wildly," Bianca said as she caught Emily's glare in the mirror.
"Fine, my mother doesn't seem to know how to take no as an answer. She had tried numerous times to get me interesting in things that she wanted. Three years ago, it was knitting," Emily said as she pulled up to the gate of her house. "She made sure that she talked Bianca's mother into signing her up as well so that I wouldn't be all alone. Bianca and I showed up to the first day of class and the teacher was quite astonished to have two young ladies in her class."
"You got sucked into this as well?" Sam asked his girlfriend.
"Yep," Bianca said as they got out of the car.
"As I was saying, my mother thought that it was a class for younger people to learn. We got stuck with a group of people my grandmother's age who only wanted to talk about their families and how they could get their kids to come to the classes," Emily said as she unlocked the door to the house. "Let's just say that after the first class we never went back and we found our own way to occupy our time. I don't know about you guys but I'm going to go and take a nap. I didn't get much sleep last night. Feel free to look around, watch TV, or grab a book to read."
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Cary said as he met the group at the door. "Hey, cuz, Bianca, and guests."
"Cary, mom told me that you wouldn't be here until late tonight," Emily said as she hugged her cousin.
"I was able to catch and earlier train. Now introduce me to your guests," Cary said as he allowed the group to walk into the foyer.
"You already know Bianca. Well this is her boyfriend, Sam Kassmeyer and Sam's friend Aaron Hotchner," Emily said as she placed her coat in the closet near the door.
"So where'd you two take them today?" Cary asked as they headed into the living room.
"We went to a few museums just to get out of Helga and Quincy's way as they get things together for the party tomorrow night," Bianca said.
"Why shouldn't I take a nap?" Emily said.
"Hell, if I were you and your guests, I'd get out of the house until after your parents head to bed," Cary said as he watched his cousin and her guests.
"What's going on now?" Emily said as she raised her fingers to her temples trying to stave off a migraine.
"You've dealt with these parties before. You know exactly how your mother gets," Cary said as he turned on ESPN.
"I do know how she gets. I just figured that this one would be a bit smaller than the rest," Emily said as she looked at her group. "How wrong was I?"
"Your dad is hiding out in the gym because she already yelled at him multiple times since I've been here," Cary said as Emily thought about other things that the group could do. "If you do end up going anywhere though, take me with you."
"How about the three of us try to find something to do since we are the ones who know the city more?" Bianca asked as she looked behind her expecting to see the Ambassador. "But how about we all head into the sitting room in between Aaron and Sam's rooms before the Ambassador finds us?"
"She's right about us knowing the city better and also about us staying away from the main rooms," Emily said as she led the group to the stairs. "I'll meet you guys in the sitting room in five minutes. I just want to let Helga know that there will only be two people for dinner tonight."
Five minutes later
"Have you guys managed to figure something out yet?" Emily said as she walked into the sitting room.
"Cary suggested a few things but you know how interesting his ideas usually are when it comes to doing things with us," Bianca said before sticking her tongue out at Emily's cousin.
"What did you suggest?" Emily said as she looked at Cary.
"An old French movie or a regular movie," Cary said as he got hit upside the head by his cousin.
"I can't believe that you'd even suggest a French movie. I've spent enough time in that general area and don't want to see or hear French for quite a while, thank you," Emily said. "Not to mention we can go and watch a regular movie anytime at school. They have movie night regularly not to mention so does the sorority."
"Well how about you two think of something then?" Cary said as he rubbed his head.
"I have an idea but I don't know if the guys have the right clothes for what I'm going to suggest," Bianca said as she looked at Emily with a wicked smile. "So guys, did you have black jeans and a black t-shirt?"
"What are you suggesting?" Aaron asked as he looked at the two girls in front of him.
"Just one of our favorite clubs that we usually go to when we come home," Emily said with a smile. "But you can't go dressed how you would go to Toad's, especially, you, Aaron."
"Hey, what's wrong with the way I dress when we go out to Toad's?" Aaron asked appalled that the two girls would question his wardrobe choices.
"I'll try to put this as delicately as possible, Aaron," Bianca said as she thought about the clothes he'd worn the few times that they'd met at Toad's. "You dress like a lawyer. If you dress like that to the place we're going, you're not even going to make it in the door; even if you come with us."
"Thank God, I've been telling him that for a while," Sam said as he headed for his room to get changed.
"Do you have the two articles of clothing that I mentioned or not, Aaron?" Bianca said as she looked at Emily.
"I'll go check my luggage," Aaron said as the girls headed for their rooms.
"Cary, are you going to come with us?" Emily asked as she looked back at the sitting room.
"Sure, just give me twenty minutes to get changed," Cary said as he headed for the guest house.
"Ok," Emily said before closing her bedroom door to change.
Twenty minutes later in the front hallway
"Well you girls sure clean up nice," Sam said as he and Aaron walked down the stairs to meet everyone.
"Thank you, sweetie," Bianca said as she spun around. "I see you managed to find the right clothes, Aaron"
"Yes, I did," Aaron said as Emily hung up the phone. "Great outfits, girls."
"Thank you," Emily said as she pulled on her jacket. "Cary decided not to join us this evening. He's evidently just going to sit in the guest house watching sports with my dad."
"So where exactly are we heading?" Aaron said as they pulled out the garage.
"We're headed to Club 9:30. It's considered the hottest club in D.C." Bianca said as she looked at the tickets she'd had couriered to the house.
"It has four bars and the largest dance floor in D.C.," Emily said as she turned down V Street looking for a parking spot.
Four hours later
The girls had managed to get the guys out of their comfort zones with the club. It was surprising, for Emily, to see the guys out of their element.
"Evidently, you guys don't go out when you're home?" Emily asked as they headed to a 24-hour diner after the club.
"Not usually but then again I think the closest club to me is a two-hour drive when I am at home," Sam said as they crossed the street.
"I guess I just tend to spend my time doing other things," Aaron said as he held the door open for everyone.
"Glad we could get you guys out of your comfort zone though I doubt there was much to be worried about at the club tonight," Bianca said as she slid into a booth. "Tonight was a pretty tame night compared to some of the holiday nights that we've been in there. Right, Em?"
"Definitely," Emily said as she took a seat next to Bianca. "How about we order this stuff to go? I kind of want to get home and get to bed because I know exactly what is going to be happening later on today."
"You seriously think that we're going to get stuck, don't you?" Bianca asked as she looked at the menu.
"You remember that this is my mother and when it comes to her shindigs, it gets bad," Emily said as the guys watched the exchange between the two girls. "I guess I should probably clue you two in since you are the guests. Later today, you guys will probably be asked to spend the day in the guest house so that you're out of the way of the caterers and other people coming and going from the house."
"Where will you two be?" Sam asked as he looked at Bianca.
"Well that all depends. If Emily can get her mother off our backs about the dresses we brought, we'll probably be able to hang out with you guys but if not then we'll be forced to look at zillions of dresses, shoes, and accessories," Bianca said. "That's all before getting ready for the party."
"Seriously?" Sam asked.
"Believe us. It's happened numerous times," Emily said as she put the menu back down on the table. "That's kind of why Cary told us to go out tonight. I'm guessing that my mother had her personal shopper there and was trying to figure out what she could get for us to try on tomorrow."
"I have no issue with taking some food back to the house," Aaron said.
P.S. I am soooo very sorry that it has taken me this long to get back to writing anything (besides papers for school). I finally decided to reread all my stories both random writings and my fanfiction stuff. Rereading has helped me regain a passion to write again. I plan to continue this and Consequences for right now. I may go back to some of the others (Keeping Up and Red Silk) eventually if I have time. I just want to thank everyone who has commented and favorited/alerted my stories. I hope that I won't have another huge bought of writers block but one can never say what is going to happen.
