Before any of you say anything… let me explain…. There's such a time, that I've recently experienced as a writer, where after reading tons of books and essays, trying to perfect my writing ability, where I soon began to imagine where I wanted this story to go… unfortunately, those ideas turned to scenes, and those scenes into an imaginary script. Soon I found myself speaking lines that I so desperately wanted to implement into these chapters… but unfortunately, I've discovered (for me at least) that I have a hard time turning what I just said into what I want it to sound like when read (and either way, I still write these chapters out much slower than I can say them). As you can tell by my unprecedented absence, that these ideas were flooding my mind. I've been having dreams multiple times during the week where I've been seeing Raid and Marlon flying around a battlefield, banking left and right, crisscrossing each other in and aerial ballet of destruction where nearly everything (enemy related) was destroyed. Then, during the day, I find myself literally speaking words of future chapters that I could only dream of writing. Seriously, if I could just speak the chapters, I'd probably be done with this story by now, and that probably isn't an understatement. And as you can tell by the enormous intro that I've included that I don't really mean to mess around. I literally had times where my parents were like… "Uh… who are you talking to…" … Well in any case, you probably didn't come here to read my part of this story, so without further ado… into the story we go… Enjoy.

Into Reality Ch. 13 – Sight Sharing

"Speech"

'Telepathy' or Thoughts

(Extra information)

*action* or *special cue*

Everything was blurred. Nothing made sense. I struggled where I was, moving around. My hearing buzzed back ringing in my ear as my eyesight returned to me. There were lights. Someone was standing in front of me. I looked around. White everywhere and something big and blue next to me.

Raid?

I refocused on the person in front of me. It was still a blur. I wasn't in pain, nor did I feel I was in danger. Senses still tingled, and I could feel the cold floor underneath me; I was still alive.

What's going on?

The blue creature next to me didn't move. My eyesight fixed itself and in an instant the world became vivid again, shocking me back like I'd been hit in the face. Raid lay next to me asleep, while I was in the center of the room.

Claws, wings, a red triangle on my chest. I was still in my Latios form. Sam stood there in front of me. There were mirrors around us, with white painted walls with barely a smudge on them.

Where am I?

An interrogation room I presumed. Why else would Raid and I be alone with this man. Noticing that I'd stirred and was now watching him, he turned around and knelt down.

"Good morning. I hope you rested well."

'Why are we here?' I cooed.

"Due to the escalating nature of the situation we are in, it mustn't be ignored of the future that lies ahead of us." He began pacing around the room. "If you choose to stay with us, we need to more about you. We both want to know more about each other, do we not?" He said looking directly into my eyes. Despite still wearing glasses, I could still feel a dark presence from behind him. I may not have seen it, but my feathers stood up a bit more than they normally did.

"Now if you choose to leave, then the door is open for you." He said motioning to the open door in the far opposite corner of the room. "We will nothing against you. Outside that door is the garage you came through and are free to leave when you want."

Lifting myself off the ground I went over to Raid and tapped him on the side, keeping my eyes locked on Sam, while using peripheral vision to watch the door. Raid stirred before waking up. 'Marlon. W-What's going on?'

I cast a quick glance over at him and back at Sam. He knew what was going on. "The Door is open." Sam repeated himself. Raid and I shared stares before both eyeing Sam. Everyone was at a standstill for a minute, and if the wind blew hard enough a tumble weed would surely go by, like an old Mexican Standoff.

'What do you want?' Raid and I both asked.

"I take it you are staying then."

I nodded.

"Well then. If that is the case, then let us proceed. I believe you know what we will be doing next, but I will get to point." Sam found a chair from the corner of the room and sat down. Just a clipboard in one hand a pen in the other. "We need to know more about you both in particular. Hopefully by the end of this, if everything goes smoothly the squad sent out will be back with you friend."

I blinked.

"It would be best if we could start from the top. How have you come to be in a world that doesn't contain beings of your type?"

Neither Raid nor I really knew how to answer the question, and just gave off a low audible coo.

Sam knew very well from our earlier experience outside that Raid and I understood what he was saying, but it quickly became apparent after the first several questions that no one was getting anywhere. Even with the questions we did know the answer to, Raid and I still hesitated to expose the personal information.

Half an hour had gone by, indicated by the clock on the side of the reflective walls, but Sam didn't seem to be getting frustrated in any way. Instead he just sat there, holding his pen, as if thinking, before asking the next question. There was absolutely no way he could be understanding us right now, but it bothered Raid and I of not being able to know what he was thinking, almost like a greedy little troll keeping all his golden coins to himself and not letting anyone know his secrets. Except in this case, Sam was someone who really couldn't be compared to anything as he stood out as his own individual character.

After sharing concerned glances, particularly from Raid, I knew there wasn't much less that we could do.

As Sam watched Raid and I shared looks, Raid broke off and approached Sam, who showed little reaction and remained as he was.

In an instant both Raid and I were snarling and baring our teeth at the lone man in the room. Raid cast out both of this paws and grabbed Sam by the shoulders, throwing him across the room cleanly knocking his glasses off. The sound of a body slamming into a solid window before falling to concrete was unnerving to the weak, but Raid didn't stop there – now able to see the look of pain in Sam's clear blue eyes. While Sam was on the ground, he looked up just in time to see Raid cast a glowing white dragon claw at his side. His red filled eyes showed nothing of the peace and serenity he was in not too long ago, and were now filled with a rage that could be felt throughout the room. Baring all his razor sharp teeth once more, Raid yelled out before swinging both claws at Sam.

Unable to move out of fear, Sam took the brunt of the blow head on. Four expertly well aimed slashes were swung and as Sam looked down, his body armor that lay below several other layers of protective gear had been sliced into four pieces, exposing his chest. Raid flew back a bit retracting both claws before lifting Sam with psychic, pulling him closer to look directly into the eyes of Raid, before slamming him back into the wall. Raid continued throwing him around, and tacking him head on for several more intense minutes. At this point, Sam was coughing up bits of blood but there wasn't any real physical damage. Like a giant enemy about to deliver the final blow, Raid stalked the prey in front of him, watching him while approaching slowly. Sam's eyes' showed signs of strength but was still feeling the impact of the thrashing.

Raid waited. Keeping one eye on Sam and mentally watching his surroundings.

'Finish the deed Raid.' I said from the back of the room.

Raid cooed acknowledging and growled at the crippled prey on the ground. This time, tucking in both paws, a ball of light and purple energy formed in front of him; directly in the firing lane of Sam - who lay unable to move. With one final ear shattering growl, Raid let loose his attack detonating the room in front of him and blinding everyone in the process. The blast went straight through the wall in front and severely damaging other wall at the end of the garage 100 feet away. When the light faded and things became clear, the wall where Sam once lay against was ripped outwards but the sheer power Raid unleashed. The garage wall showed not much difference with large cracks from the epicenter of where the attack collided with the concrete. As for the impact itself, the area was steaming from all the energy that was transferred from a charged attack to a solid object, making the wall go from a solid to a liquid in a flash before returning to a solid.

Opening his eyes, and shaking noticeably, Sam sat found himself several feet to the right of where he just was.

'I've seen enough. He's cracked. I've seen all that I need to see.' I said to Raid.

'What do you want to do now?'

I looked over at Raid, then back to Sam, who was trying to recollect what leftover strength he had.

'Let's do this.' I said.

Raid nodded, and before Sam could do anything, Raid tacked Sam into the wall behind him, overloading his mind in the process. After hitting the floor, Sam went limp on the ground, unresponsive and still.

'Good. Now let's begin.' I told Rad putting up a half dome psychic barrier around the three of us while Raid took his spot in a little triangle with Sam at the peak, Raid to the left, and me to the right. 'We haven't done this kind of thing before in a long time, especially not with a human.' Raid said, with uncertainty that the procedure would actually work. Although it was true, I knew there was no other way to handle the situation.

Raid and I both closed out eyes and focused on the world around us as our bodies became enveloped in a thin layer of psychic energy. We concentrated, trying to connect each other's minds, searching for each other's aura. Just like before, Raid and I manipulated each other's energy and focused our minds on what was about to happen next. In a split second, the world disappeared, and all was quieter than before.

Slowly opening his eyes Sam looked around.

Darkness. No light. But absolute darkness could be found. Everywhere. In every direction there was an endless expanse of nothing. Absolutely nothing. The pain was gone. Looking around and listening with intent, trying to find anything that may be of use. He was alone. Sam stood up looking out into the void of darkness before looking at himself. Everything was as it should, a white sweatshirt and navy blue jeans except, there were no signs of any physical damage nor were the clothes he had on any different than they would normally.

Am I dead, was the first question that came to mind. Was this what the bottoms of hell looked like. An endless void of pitch black darkness with nothing around him. Not knowing the answer, he began to walk. In no direction in particular, but just began to walk forward. He could breath, yes, but where was he was the question he couldn't answer.

"Hello." Sam said from his point in the void. No answer came. Not even an echo rang out. It was true silence.

'Why hello Sam.' A voice came in to Sam's head.

Now aware that he wasn't alone, Sam turned around expecting to be greeted by the source of the voice. But all he found was the same as before, and endless wall of darkness. Sam looked around, checking his surroundings, but nothing came into sight.

'Funny I thought you'd be quicker.' Marlon's voice felt to be right at Sam's ear, but after quickly spinning around, Marlon could be seen floating as a Latios several feet off in the distant. 'It's nice to see you up and moving again. I must apologize for what happened moments earlier, Raid and I weren't truly trying to harm you, but in order to do this, we needed to be sure you weren't going to harm either of us in any way.'

"Then what is this place. How do we get out?" Sam asked.

'Ah, quick to go are we. Well to start, I might as well introduce myself properly.' In a bright flash, one that forced Sam to shield his eyes from the light, Marlon became enveloped in a blinding light. In moments, the light died down enough for Sam to see what was happening. When all dimmed down, what remained was no longer a levitating large brown winged, but a young tenage boy. Wearing black tennis shoes, white socks, long black cargo pants – each pocket filled with some content – a white collared T-Shirt, a brown scarf elongating all the way down his back, and a brown army cap with a black stripe running the length of the cap, Marlon stood, smirking at Sam.

'Being observant are we?' Marlon telepathed through the air. 'I can tell from reading your mind. You're thoughts are clear to me. It's like reading a book that can talk and move. But then again, that doesn't answer your original question does it?' Sam made no move. Despite not wearing any glasses, armor, or anything that would seem intimidating, the simple serious glare he gave accompanied by his silence made the whole situation seem more not at ease.

Marlon sighed, 'Well seeing that you already know who I am… welcome to the realm that runs between reality and those of dreams. This realm is created straight through the linking of minds, specifically yours, Raid's, and my own. It is here that everything bends to Raid and my will, where the world is built upon our imagination. It's is also here where I found it most suiting to discuss matter, but as I said earlier I must apologize. In order to bring you here, Raid and I needed to know for sure that your intentions were only the truth, and in order to do that, we needed to crack you.'

"So you killed me." Sam replied, no hint of emotion in his voice.

'On the contraire… you're body remains in the real world, but in order to be here, we needed to gain access to your mind. However, being the well-built stubborn secretive being that you are, cracking your mind through fear, appeared to be the only option. And now, all three of our bodies are subconsciously interacting through thoughts, images, and signals, which are then interpreted, translated, and understood by one another. However, this works mainly in one direction, being that although we can read your thoughts, you can't read ours. As I've said, everything here bends to our will, for example… kneel."

In one jerking movement Sam found himself on his knees again, unable to move.

"See? As long as you're here, we control you. However, even as you're able to speak freely, your freedom is limited by our decisions. But yet, I can still feel a part of your mind that hasn't become clear to me. Like a small safe locked in the back of a closet that I'm unable to crack open…" Marlon turned towards Sam. "What are you hiding?"

Sam remained silent.

"You're able to speak, so you'd do yourself good to tell me."

"…"

"Must I remind you that things that happened to you here, can have consequences in the real world… if we let it be that way. Will you tell me?"

"…"

Marlon cocked his head to the side, kneeling in front of him. "Why don't you tell me?"

Sam kneeled where he was, "It's personal information that I've kept hidden from myself. It doesn't pertain to you."

Marlon cocked his head in the opposite direction as images and memories appeared off in the distant, like a movie playing on a big screen. "I've seen through all your memories Sam. It was as if I lived them myself, but what could be so important that you would hide from me."

"It's personal."

Marlon drooped his head forward and sighed again. The images disappeared. "So be it." With that Sam could feel the weight of his shoulders vanish, and he could move freely again.

Checking himself, Sam recomposed himself. "So how will this work?" Sam thought.

'Well if I read your mind as I just did to hear your thought, then I would then have to explain. We're here to discuss what we can't do in the real world.'

"If I have to ask, then why is that?" Sam returned the question.

Marlon shook his head, 'The reason being that keeping our secret as it is for as long as possible is something Raid and I find most important. So by coming here, we are free to discuss matters without having to concern real world affairs. And must I add that time spent here is different from the outside world. Being that an hour here, turns out to be several in reality. So if you want to continue this interview, then I suggest we move ahead.'

Sam nodded.

'Well then, ask away. Raid and I are both in on this conversation so any questions you have can answered by both of us.'

"Well then, if you've granted me permission, then I must ask… what are you?"

Marlon looked into the question. Soon he found himself pacing back in forth around Sam. Several moments went by before Marlon stopped in front of Sam smiling. "Wow, we're barely one question in and I don't know how to answer. Is there a specific answer you're looking for?"

"Are you Human, or some mythical beast that just happens to come into reality?"

"Well first off, I'd prefer that you'd said creature over beast. The term beast gives off a bit more of a negative connotation. But the truth is, I really don't know anymore. If you'd given me third option, I'd say I was both."

"But then what do you consider yourself more as?" Sam asked as he watched Marlon walk around him.

"Well in that case, I'd say I am more human." Marlon replied with a smile. To Sam, Marlon didn't look any more like a threat than he looked as a Latios. He looked calm and a happy kind of person, but yet, he felt troubled.

"What's the matter Sam, can't accept that a teenage boy like myself is doing all this?" That moment Sam was reminded who he was dealing with. That made Marlon chuckle from where he was.

"Okay. How old are you?"

"Who me, or Raid?" Marlon asked.

"Both of you?"

"Well me as a human, I'm going for…. Uh…. Hold on the whole asleep for a couple years threw me off… ugh…. At this point, I'm 18 years old… wow, I now that I think of if, I lost so much time while in a comma…. Ugh, but getting back to the question, Raid is about 4 years old by now. Isn't that right Raid?"

Raid's voice came in out of nowhere, "Yah, I'm four years old." A hint of enthusiasm was clearly heard by Sam in his voice.

"As for me, same as Raid."

Sam cocked an eyebrow, "I thought you said you were 18 years old?"

"Yah, my human age is. As a Lati, I am 4 years old as well."

Sam took as second to register what he'd just be told. So you weren't always a beast?"

Marlon looked down. Sam felt the weight return and was quickly on the ground again. *Sigh* "Come on Sam, I just said not to refer to me as a beast. At the very least, you could refer to me as a Lati."

The effects of gravity lessened and Sam stood up once again. "My apologize then. But I still don't understand, how did you come to be a Latios if you weren't always one of them? Were you always with the other Latios and Latias?"

"For the record, they have names." Marlon said, a hint of agitation in his voice. "Raid is the Latios and Latias …. Well she's Latias."

Sam simply nodded.

Marlon shook his head. "What is it that you want to know about Sam?"

Sam looked to his side for a second, before making solid eye contact with Marlon. "I want to know how it all started for you."

Marlon smiled crossing his arms. "I knew eventually it was going to come to this. I was just waiting to see how long it would take. To fully understand who we are you're going to have to start from the beginning. But before we do anything else, are you familiar with sight-sharing?"

Sam nodded.

"Good, then that saves a bit of time of me explaining things… Well then, let's get started shall we." With that Marlon vanished into thin air and the darkness was all that was left.

Out of nowhere the world flashed into existence, flying straight into Sam's eyes that would have caused anyone to have flung themselves back out of flinching. The earth came into existence, as it spun slowly orbiting Sam. Without warning, Sam was falling towards the Earth at a heart breaking speed, yet he didn't feel like he was falling. There was no wind blowing up, no noise rushing by, before his descent slowed and the city lights could be seen more vividly.

'This is California. Where I was born.' Marlon telepathed to Sam. 'Specifically, I was born in Southern California.'

Once again, Sam began descending once more. This time, the ground was a lot closer, and he could just make out people walking down below. He did notice one feature that stood out; a white sign protruding off of a small mountain.

"Welcome to my home city. This is Hollywood."Marlon said becoming visible next to Sam. "This is a place where people believed dreams come true, but most people think otherwise, that this is all gimmick." Marlon placed his hand over his heart, a bit of pain could be seen in his eyes. "Although I must say I didn't believe that this was how it was supposed to be."

"What do you mean?" Sam asked.

"Well if you really want to understand how I think it all started… then there'd probably be no other place to look than here." Once again the world zoomed in in-front of Sam and Marlon to a school. It was all painted white with the exception of red lines running throughout the school. From a bird's point of view, the school looked small. Nothing spectacular to remark about. There was a pool on one side, and a giant square field containing three baseball diamonds, a football field and a running track encircling the other two previously mentioned. There were only main buildings. One was shaped like an "L" from above, housing the classrooms between four floors. The next building was a plain square, with two floors, a gymnasium on the second floor and all the normal high school locker rooms down below on the first floor.

"Welcome to my high school. Known to most students as East Lorend High School." Marlon was taking his time, looking over the school before continuing. Marlon looked up at Sam who was already staring at him. "Oh sorry, I must've dazed off… *sigh* Well I can't say that my best experiences were here but overall, I'd have to that the first two years here were probably some of the best I'd ever had. I had friends, the teachers liked me, the staff enjoyed having conversations with me, and it was overall a great place for me to be besides home. The world zoomed in even further. A group of teenagers could be seen all around the campus. "These images are nearly five to six years old if I can remember properly. Normally, sight sharing would put you in my place, being first person, but I've managed to create a perspective from my memories so that we can see things in third person."

Sam and Marlon were now at ground level, watching teenagers walk around while talking among-st each other's. Marlon walked forward ahead of Sam, gesturing him to follow. The two walked forward near the arch where the two pieces of the main building came together to form an "L". As Sam was walking forward he noticed several of the people Marlon passed by walk straight through him without changing their moods. By the time they got the connecting bridge, Marlon was already standing next to one of the pillars. Sam walked up next to him to see him pointing at a group of people.

"See that boy in the group right there, wearing that big bulky orange backpack with the white butterflies on it… Well if you recognized the facial features you'd know that me. This was on my first year at high school…" Sam took a moment to inspect the scene. The Marlon in the vision sure looked happy. He was conversing with another boy wearing a baseball jacket and his friends about the latest video they had all seen on the internet and were joking at how hilarious it was.

Suddenly the world shifted again. The people around them became a blur, moving around so quickly Sam couldn't keep track of their positions. The sun also shifted across the sky countless times as the weather shifted rapidly, raining for a fraction of a second, before becoming sunny and bright, before rapidly changing to night as the cycle continued for several seconds. Soon after it started, the world began to slow, as people were coming out of a blur and becoming recognizable again. Sam and Marlon were still standing next to the arch of the school except, this time, the students looked different, the campus looked dirtier than it had been before, and there was an eerie negative feel floating around in the air.

"Two years has elapsed." Marlon suddenly spoke. "Come with me."

As the two walked away from the archway, they came near a stair well leading up the north wing. All the way to the stairwell, Sam took notice of Marlon placing his right hand over his heart.

"Things have changed dramatically since then." Marlon said. Immediately after, vanished from Sam's view. Everyone on the campus suddenly turned towards the stair well and were throwing things up at someone coming down. Sam looked closer, but before anything else came into view, Sam caught glimpse of an orange bag. It was Marlon.

Sam turned around to see what the other students were doing, and from the sound of hundreds of kids yelling, it was clear to say that everyone was in on this event. Sam took off from the ground and was now looking down from above. Nearly every single student had rushed towards the north stairwell and were now throwing anything they had in their hands. From food from the lunch they were given, to pencils to scraps of paper. It was clear to see Marlon put up his hands as a shield from the oncoming debris. Sam looked back. There was not a single security guard at front, trying to contain this riot, and Marlon was left all alone on the stairwell being pummeled by other people's trash.

"What the hell is going on?" Sam asked himself.

Suddenly Marlon came back into view alongside Sam. 'I know… I thought the same thing that day.'

Sam looked over at Marlon. His face was emotionless. For the first time Sam had ever seen him, Marlon didn't seem to be displaying any sign of emotion. His voice voice followed. 'I didn't really understand how this happened.'

The world shifted again. This time Sam and Marlon found themselves in the cafeteria, a student had just gotten out with his lunch in hand, when a bunch of people got up from the seats and gathered around him. "See that boy in the center, same person as before…"It was a mob. In moments there were hundreds of people surrounding the lone student. One boy came close to Marlon, looked his straight in the eye, then raised one and slapped the tray out of his hand. "See that other boy, the one who just slapped the tray from my hands, the one with the red cap? That's Brandon, otherwise known to every other student as Brad."

"What exactly is going on?" Sam asked, clearly unable to understand what was going on.

"It's a mob… It all started when school started again. Eleventh grade was nothing like the last two."

"How exactly?"

Marlon looked down taking a breath, before looking up again. "It was the first day of eleventh grade." The world went into a blur and the scenery changed again. Now they were in a classroom. "I had just gotten to my first class and was trying to greet everyone just as I did the year before. They were all my friends. I knew them, and they all knew me. We'd all gotten along well. I was never the center of attention, and I always had friends I could turn to…But… this year was different."

A boy walked in, he was wearing a big white baseball jacket with black stripes along the side, torn up black pants and overall, a red baseball cap. It all really started here. The boy walked up to Marlon and all of the sudden the world went blank.

Sam looked around, seeing the world of color around him sudden disappear back to the black void they started out in. "What happened."

"I honestly don't know. I lost all memory of what happened that day… I only really remember my parents talking with me briefly at a hospital and then sometime later, I was at home." Sam was looking at Marlon who was looking away.

The world shifted once again. Now they were back in the cafeteria right where they left off. Then, all became still. "See all these boys and girls Sam?" Marlon asked.

Sam nodded.

"I knew all of them... And they knew me… well before any of this happened… we were all friends…" Marlon said, taking moments between each phrase.

Sam took a moment looking at Marlon then back down at the students. Then, Marlon started naming one by one. "Silva. That one next to her on the right is Diane To her left is Roxanne. That girl next to her with the purple hair is Duke. And then there Bryan…" Marlon kept naming them. One by one, until he named every single person in the room. "They were all my friends."

"Then what happened?" Sam asked again.

Marlon faced Sam before looking him in the eyes. "Do you really want to know?"

Sam looked away before staring back. He nodded.

Marlon shut his eyes and the world around them shifted once more.

Now they were in the parking lot. The school could be seen to their right and a wall of another building to their left. Their appeared to be solar panels above them and the moonlight casting the only natural light through the thick dark clouds above. Water was falling from the sky as if crying. Sam looked around. There was no one, until he saw a lone boy sitting next to one of pillars of the solar panels of the parking lot. Next to him, was an orange bag. His face was soaking wet. Sam couldn't tell if he was crying or not, but from his curled up position, he could tell he wasn't comfortable.

"What's going on?"

"You truly wanted to know what was going on. Didn't you. Then, from all that I've gathered it started here." Marlon simply said.

"What are we doing in a parking lot? … Is that you over there in the corner?" Sam asked.

"My grandpa was always there for me. He supported me… he was like the second father I never really asked for… he raised me when my father couldn't… like my mom, he was always working hard, tripling shifts just to make ends me…. He was supporting a family with four children."

Sam just looked Marlon. His head was low and he wasn't making direct eye contact.

"… He was always there. When times were rough, he would step in and fill the hole that was in my chest… he would teach me when I was young ... we laughed together… played together…. He used to walk me everyday to school up to middle school. That was when he began having trouble walking… today was different… my dad would normally pick me up, but couldn't today … so my grandpa decided he would come and pick me up instead…"

The moon was full and now directly overhead, but the rain kept coming down.

Sam continued to watch Marlon. He stood still and looked behind Sam. Sam followed his eyesight to see him looking at his vision self. When Sam looked at the Marlon in front of him, his hand was over his heart. His head was down and he walked next to Sam who didn't move.

In a low voice Marlon said a few words… "This is where it must've started…" With that Marlon disappeared.

The rain kept pouring and all was quiet.

*BANG*

Another loud crack filled the air, instantly putting Sam on edge. When he looked around, he saw a man collapse on the floor. Suddenly a boy ran straight threw Sam yelling, "GRANDPAAA!"

It was Marlon running.

Marlon was yelling at the body that now lay motionless on the floor. Something was wrong, it could be felt in the air. "NO! GRANDPAA!"

Sam took a step forward approaching the two, when out of nowhere…

*BANG*

Another loud crack filled the air. This time a spray of read liquid flew out threw the center of the boy's body as the body fell slowly to the ground.

There was a dark object in the background of the scene. One hand was raised holding a pistol, with smoke coming out of the barrel. The person didn't move, and looked at the scene. There wasn't enough light to see the object.

Wanting to see for himself, Sam took a step forward… then his steps became a run… but one thing was common… with each step he took… he was no closer to the object than he was a few seconds ago… it was as if he was running in place… the world didn't move, and the man holding the gun ran away…

The wind blew over the surrounding buildings, and the world fell silent.

Sam stood still, reviewing in his mind every single detail he saw, trying to fully understand what he had just witnessed. But before he could begin to analyze anything, the word went blank. Once again the sudden shift of environment forced Sam to flinch back, throwing his arms up to shield his eyes, from nothing.

Realizing that he was simply overreacting, Sam dropped his defensive stance, to catch sight of Marlon in front of him standing with his back to Sam and his arms behind him.

Sam was meaning to say something, but slightly hesitated to speak.

Marlon turned around, sensing this through Sam. After making eye contact, Marlon shook his head and smiled. 'It actually pleases me to know that you show some kind of sympathy for me… even if you don't physically show it.'

Sam didn't react to the statement being made at him. Instead he just stood as he was, as if not hearing the comment.

Once again, Marlon sighed. "Still not showing any emotion. Figures as much since it's you. I feel as if I knew you for quite some time, when in fact it's just that I've reviewed your memories." Marlon smiled. "I'll probably regret saying this, but it's probably better that you don't show any emotions, that way I don't have to worry about getting the wrong response from you when I say that me and Raid are probably going to have to ask for a much better meal when this is all over." Raid could be heard chuckling in the surrounding air along with Marlon.

Sam took a moment to let the other two finish their moment of fun. "So if this is how it all started for you, then how did you end up like this?"

Marlon was catching his breath before he spoke. "That monotone-like voice of yours makes it sound like being a Lati is a bad thing to be." Marlon smiled, acknowledging his own joke. "Well if you thought this was even slightly dramatic, then things are about to get a lot more interesting for you."Marlon walked up to Sam to shake hands.

The moment the two came in contact with each other, the world flashed again. This time, Sam just shut his eyes expecting this. But once he opened them, the world hadn't changed. Not completely understanding what was going on, he simply asked, "Where are we?"

Marlon being the only person Sam could directly talk to answered in a slightly more urgent tone. "It seems that something is going on." As he said this, a pulse of some sort could be felt in the air. Marlon noticed Sam react to this, "Don't worry, that's just Raid. I told you he was watching us. Apparently there's something going on outside, in the real world." Marlon had already let go of Sam but quickly put his hand on his shoulder. "I'm sharing some of my memories with you. I can't really do much after this in terms of communicating with you but you'll be able to review my memories in pieces. Once you've sorted all the pieces, you'll feel like you lived a portion of my life, except you won't have the extras that came with it."

Sam looked down at Marlon, who returned the look with the smile. But before Sam could respond, the world around him, blacked out, with him along with it.

Raid was the first to awake. Recovering his senses from the very recent action, Raid looked around. I was next to awaken with Sam quickly following. Raid who was now next to me quickly poked me with a claw and with this free paw, pointed in the direction of the whole he'd created with his previous Luster Purge.

I'd just recovered my senses and noticed that there was a purple little bubble surrounding the three of us. 'At least the shield is still up. It's certainly been a while since we've been able to do this.' Although it wasn't what was around inside the bubble that mattered, but more of the several teams of soldiers outside shooting rounds into our little bubble that stirred a bit of concern… for the soldiers that was.

Before Sam could come to his senses, I quickly flew up to Sam, put one paw around one arm and the other with an extended dragon claw around his neck. I yelled at the soldiers outside trying to see if they would understand my threat. 'Put the guns down! I won't hesitate! Put the guns down!'

Raid joined in and snarled at the soldiers outside the pink indestructible bubble. Once Sam came to his senses – easily sensed by both Raid and I – Sam remained still. Noticing the situation he quickly found himself in, Sam caught a quick glimpse of the men with their buns aimed at both Raid and I.

"What the HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Sam quickly yelled out, catching me of guard. As a reflex, I rewrapped my free arm around the other arm of Sam and did a full backflip, still holding Sam, slamming him in the ground and re-extending my dragon claw at his chest. From Sam's perspective, he could clearly see me smile.

Outside, the men had lowered their guns. From pistols to rifles, all were either put back in their holsters or dropped to the floor.

With that Raid lowered the shield and cooed happily, shedding all signs of ever being angry and quickly retreated next to me. I did the same, retracting my claws and helped Sam up. Unfortunately for Sam, along with recovering his senses, Sam also recovered the feeling of pain from the earlier attack.

Sam showed no sign of pain as he got up, and dusted himself up. "I'll see to it that whoever's idea it was to disturb us is dealt with." And with that Sam walked over the rubble left over from Raid's attack and outside into the garage.

Raid and I followed, with our own individual shields around us (a layer of psychic energy lined our bodies).

A man from in front of the crowd came up to Sam, "Commander… there appears to be a situation."

Sam turned to the man, "What is it?"

The man gestured for Sam to come close, and whispered into his ear. Unfortunately for the man, the whole conversation was clearly heard by Raid and I.

"Sir, Kevin and his men have been lost from the radar. Their knee radars aren't responding, and we've lost all communication with the men on the outside…" The man talking to Raid made a noticeable, gulp. "Sir… I also regret to inform you that the main target has also started moving… but in the opposite direction of this base."

Sam turned to us and was met by the opposite beings who were previously with him. Raid and I were no longer pleased, and more concerned than ever.

The operation outside had hit a problem, and a very serious one.

There was only one thing running through both Raid's and my mind…

Latias…

Well so much for finding more about Marlon and the trio…. Or is there….. O.o… and what's to be found of Latias? What will Marlon and Raid do to get her back? What could have happened while the trio were unconscious? Did my parents finally decide to make me a sandwich?! Find out next time… on Into Reality…

P.S. School starts in a week, so the likely hood of being able to get another chapter up may be slim… it pains me just as much as you the reader may understand… seriously, if I could write the way I dream these chapters, I'd be a very hapy man… any suggestions? I'm sure there are some readers reading this after reading the chapter who are like "OMG… this guy s***s." Well first of all… good to know… second… mind giving some criticism?! Seriously, if I can't get any kind of criticism - then may the lord forbid - this story will continue on the course it's on and never improve… I want this thing to be awesome, so I resort to the reader to seek your opinion… Well in any case, I hope everyone had a special and happy new years resolution, as we all make our ways into a new year full of adventures and new experiences.

As always, this is marcturbo1, check you six and always stay on guard. Bye! :D
