MOONLIGHT MADNESS
Full moon, partial cloud - shadows on the ground.
On nights like this she twirls in her garden and she dreams...
She searches - amidst the revelry, behind the masks.
His face - as she finds him.
His voice - as he sings.
Her steps - light as air while they dance.
He offers her - her dreams, his love.
She wants this to last forever - one perfect moment in time.
The clock strikes.
Her twirling stops.
Regret - not that she wished Toby away.
Regret - that she couldn't stay...
with him -the Goblin King.
It all began with a simple rhyme - one that did no harm.
But she wished - it came true - and then she changed her mind.
In the end she had no choice - required to deny him.
Once again, all alone - the child she lost was safe at home.
A smile.
A tear.
She hangs her head and bows...
to the one who began it all -
the dance continues on...
