Harry Potter
The Fourth Son
Chapter Two
Diagon Alley
The day was spent with opening gifts that Jason had gotten from his siblings and parents. His dad had gotten him the newest Firebolt six. His brothers and sister pitched in and got Jason custom quidditch gear. His mom had gotten him a necklace with his birth stone on it. After opening his gifts, Jason was seen running outside with his new broom in hand. His dad and mother walked outside with him. James of course had grabbed his and was already mounting It and kicking off into the air. Albus following suit as well. Jason mounted his broom and kicked off into the air, behind his brothers. He felt the crisp summer wind hit his face, blowing his hair back. He raced with his brother's around the back yard.
Harry watched his son's fly around and looked to his wife.
"I can't believe you got him the new firebolt" she stated
"yeah well he is the youngest" said Harry "and for everyone's eleventh I did get them good racing brooms"
Ginny nodded her head and looked out to the air. She saw her youngest whipping through the air after his siblings as they raced around. She saw how excited he was, and it brought a smile to her face. She leaned against her husband.
"we did a good job" she muttered
"yeah we sure did" said Harry.
The next day the Potter family were making there way through Diagon Alley, for Lily was entering her fifth year, and Jason was now entering his first year at Hogwarts. The family walked through the secret passageway that led to the wizarding town and Jason looked around in awe. He always liked coming to Diagon Alley, even when he wasn't going to be going to Hogwarts, he liked wandering around the different shops.
Jason was interrupted from his thoughts by the feeling of his dad's hand on his shoulder. Jason looked up at his dad.
"Your mom is going to go and get your books" he said "you and I are going to be going to go and get your school robes and wand, so stay close to me ok"
Jason nodded and followed beside his dad. His father led him to the Robe shop and held the door open for him. Inside the tailer was busying writing down measurements for a young girl. Jason noticed how her skin was a dark tan, probably from being out in the sun for so long. The tailor had taken the robe off the girl and with a wave of her wand, the robes began to shrink and change until they were the right size for the young giril. The woman placed the robes into a bag and handed it to the girl. The girl looked excited as she ran out of the store. The elderly witch looked towards Jason and then she noticed his father and her face lightened up.
"ah welcome welcome" she said "am I right to assume that your youngest is finally going to Hogwarts"
"That's right" said Harry
The witch lead Jason to the stool that was infront of three mirrors. The witch took out a measuring tape and began to measure every inch of Jason's upper body. Jason then noticed that the measuring tape was moving on its own through the air. The witch was writing down on a small pad. When she was done, she pulled out her wand and with a flick, the measuring tape slid back and floated to her opened hand. She then walked to the back room and came out with two sets of robes, dress pants, sweater vests, button down shirts, and ties. She put them into a bag, Harry took the bag from the counter and paid the the Witch.
"I do hope you have a good first year young Mr. Potter" she said happily
"thank you ma'am" said Jason as he waved good bye, following his father out back to Diagon Alley.
When they got outside Harry pointed towards and old looking shop.
"that is where you will be getting your own wand" said Harry "Why don't you go in there, and I will wait for you outside"
Jason nodded, and his dad walked him over to the shop. Jason opened the door, and the bell jingled. Inside Jason looked around. The shop was stuffed with rectangular boxes, which Jason guessed had wands in them. He walked to the front desk and looked around. There was the sound of a ladder being rolled and an elderly Wizard came into view. He looked at Jason with a twinkle in his eye, it was almost as if the wand maker was expecting Jason to walk into this store.
"ah I wondered when I would be seeing you Mr. Potter" he stated as he walked to the front of the room "It seems only yesterday that I was giving your father his very own wand, took quite a few tries to do that, but eventually he got his wand, Holly, with phoenix feather, eleven inches if I recall correctly, very sturdy wand"
Mr. Ollivander pulled out a box and opened it and took out a wand. He handed it to Jason, who nervously took it.
"Applewood, and dragon heartstring, eleven inches" he said "go on give it a whirl"
Jason flicked the wand, and nothing happened. The wand maker muttered something about the wand not being the right fit and took it from Jason.
"lets try Birch, with unicorn hair" he stated
As the wand maker was handing the wand to Jason, he immediately pulled it back.
"no no" he said "not a good match either"
It felt like ages to Jason. He must have counted atleast a dozen wands that he had held or nearly held. Jason looked at Mr. Ollivander with frustration.
"do not fret young Mr. Potter" said the elderly wand maker "you are not the only one to have this problem, you see in my time of Wandmaking I have come to know a simple fact about wands, And I have told this to many doubtful young witches and wizards this, for you see it is not the wizard who chooses the wand, But the wand who chooses the wizard, now that I have said this I do wonder"
Mr. Olivander walked to the back of the room and came back with a black box with golden embroidery. He set it down on the desk.
"Let us try this wand" he stated as he handed the wand to Jason "willow, with phoenix feather, eleven inches, a rarity in its kind and the only one to be made"
Jason reached out and took the wand in his hand. Immiadtly golden sparks erupted from the wand and Jason felt a warmth spread from the wand through his entire body. He looked up at Mr. Ollivander with a look of bewilderment. His hand was shaking slightly from excitement. He had finally gotten his own wand.
"see" said Ollivander "the wand has chosen you"
Jason looked at the wand in his hand and placed it back in its box. Mr. Ollivander put the lid on it and handed it to Jason. Jason walked out of the shop with a big smile on his face. Harry saw the look on his son's face and looked at the box in his son's arms. He grinned as he got up from where he was sitting and walked over to him.
"Dad it took so long" said Jason "but then finally I got my wand, it has a phoenix feather core like yours does and its eleven inches"
Harry nodded as he and his son walked down the street.
"but you realize that it is not the same phoenix feather as mine" explained Harry "not every wand has the same core, and if they do have the same hair from the phoenix it is very uncommon, and only two wands in history have had the same cores"
Jason nodded. He knew his dad was talking about Lord Voldemort's wand and his own wand. He remembered reading that in one of the history books his aunt had. Jason looked at his dad.
"so dad where are we going now" he asked
"well that is a surprise" said Harry as he led the way back to a newly opened shop. When they walked in the lights were off, until Harry waved his wand and the lights magically turned on and numerous people jumped out from different hiding places.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON" shouted everyone
Jason jumped as he was shocked from the people jumping out. His dad knelt down beside him.
"You think that your birthday would just be celebrated by us and your siblings" he said
Jason hugged his dad, and the huge party started. Music played in the background as everyone danced in the center of the room. Harry was standing at a table with his two school friends Hermione and Ron Weasley.
"You know mate" said Ron "he does look like an exact duplicate of you, its weird"
Harry looked at his friend as he stated the obvious. He set down his glass of fire whiskey.
"well thank you for stating the obvious Ronald" said Hermione in a sarcastic manner
Hermione looked into the crowd of their children as they crowded around a table playing wizards chess. She looked at her godson as he concentrated on the game he was playing against her son, Hugo.
"You know Harry" she said "I look at him and I see such a bright future for him"
Harry nodded. He then looked around and noticed that one person was missing. He let out a sigh.
"Ted is not here" said Harry mentioning his own godson.
"you can't blame him" said Hermione "his grandmother did pass away a few weeks ago, and she was the last tie to his own mother"
Harry nodded and picked up his glass, taking another drink from it. He heard a door open and saw his godson walk in. The young man looked like his old professor Remus Lupin, but had Andromeda's hair and the ability to change the color of it. Right now he had it changed to a strawberry blonde. He walked to where Harry.
"hey Uncle Harry" he said
"glad you could make it Ted" said Harry as he patted his godson on the shoulder "i knew you would not miss his party"
Ted gave a half hearted smile. He looked at where Jason was.
"yeah, but I er didn't get him anything" he said in a disappointed tone
"don't worry about it" said Harry in a knowing tone "you have had a lot of things on your mind, just know that I am always here if you need someone to talk to, and besides Jason will understand, plus you just being here is a gift of its own in his eyes"
Ted nodded and Harry handed him a glass of fire whiskey.

The last few weeks were spent with getting ready for Hogwarts. Jason had gathered all of his school robes and put them in the new trunk his godfather had taken him out and bought. The trunk had his initials on it emblazoned with red and gold. Jason looked at his finished work on packing and felt proud. He still had room left for his personal books he had gotten to read during free time while at school. He picked up one of the books from his bookshelf and looked at it. It was his aunt's copy of Beetle and Bard. He put it the free space in his trunk and grabbed a few more books and stuffed them in the trunk. He closed the lid and pushed the trunk into an open space in his closet. He sat down on his bed and took out his wand from the container on his nightstand and looked at it. He then remembered a spell his dad showed him.
"Lumos" He muttered and the tip of his wand glowed a bright light.
Jason smirked at the success at getting the spell to work. He looked out to the night sky out of his window and was glad. For tomorrow he would be going to Hogwarts and start learning more spells and making friends.
