The New Chapter

"I miss her everyday..."

Chapter Sixteen

"Missing each other..."

As Naruto arrived at her destination she inhaled the fresh scent of morning dew. It's been three years since then but the place hasn't change a bit. She sighed, feeling nostalgic.

Staring at the big corn fields in front of her. That was the place where she usually play hide and seek with Sasuke and Itachi.

"Sasuke…" Naruto, covered her mouth, scolding herself inwardly. She can't think about Sasuke right now! "You just broke up with him Naruto so…keep him out of your mind will you!" she said scolding herself, "This is for the best Naruto…" she thought, trying to convince herself that her decision is for the greater good.

"Mom?" Naruto knocked at the front door of her mother's apartment, few years back she visited her mother with Itachi. She learnt that she resigned and move out of the Uchiha mansion after discovering the truth about the 'deal' she had with the Uchiha brother's father. "Mom? It's me Naruto…are you home?" she called out to her mother once again and this time louder.

"Naruto?"A surprise voice exclaimed from behind.

Naruto turned to her back to see her mother holding a laundry basket. "Mom!" Naruto jumped on her mother's arms. She promised herself not to cry but in the end she's now crying like a baby on her mother's embrace. "I've missed you mom…"

"My dear…Naruto welcome back…" Kushina greeted her daughter warmly.

That night:

"Naruto I'm sorry I only have one bed…you just have to make do with the futon but don't worry we have this curtain so at least you have some privacy." Kushina said with a faint smile while she sits down the edge of the bed with her daughter.

"Mom its fine…you don't have to worry about me." Naruto said, putting her hand over her mother's shoulder squeezing it reassuringly. "I am the one who came here without any notice so you shouldn't think too much about me…"

"Did something happened back there in Tokyo?" Naruto gulped at her mother's question, she wanted to tell her that her husband (and her father) is still alive and that he didn't died in a car accident but instead he left them because he has other family.

"Naruto?"

"Nothing mom…it's just that it's my time off now from college so I decided to spend my holiday here with you." She said hugging her mother's arm close to her chest.

"Holiday without my cute granddaughter?" Kushina pouted.

"Unlike me Kaoru still has school…"

"But if you're here who's taking care of Kaoru?" Kushina asked her daughter, feeling worried about her granddaughter's well-being.

"Don't worry mom her otou-san and her real dad are there to take care of her…"

Tokyo,

Sasuke stared emptily, facing the elegant Tokyo harbor bridge. The sepia lights from the city were mirrored in his onyx eyes. He gulped the last drop of his beer before throwing the empty can to the side.

"Sasuke…" Itachi called out, as he took a seat a few inches away from his younger brother. Sasuke spared his older brother a glance before turning his gaze back to the calm lake before them.

"Naruto left…she broke up with me."

"What did she said?" Itachi asked his brother.

"She's basically asking for a space…"

"If that's what she need then give it to her." Itachi shrugged his shoulders. "I know it's not that easy but if that's what she was asking you then you have to respect her decision. Remember she didn't break it off because she wasn't in love with you anymore…"

"I…I don't know if I can do this alone Itachi…I can't…" Sasuke sobbed, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"You have to be strong for Kaoru…"

"Yeah…you're right…" Sasuke agreed.

"But still…" Itachi paused, pulling out something from his pocket then shove a piece of paper on his younger brother's palm.

"What's this? Itachi." He asked, confused of his older brother's action.

"That's where you could possibly find Naruto…"

"I-Itachi…"

"I know Naruto asked you for some space…but it doesn't mean that you can't see her from afar. Right? Younger brother." Itachi said with a smile, patting Sasuke on his back.

"Thank you Itachi."

Kyoto, Japan

Sasuke arrived at his destination, parked at a secluded but a short distance from the house Naruto is staying right now. It's also been five hours and half since then but still has no sign of Naruto coming out of the house. He sighed, leaning his back against his seat. He can't just lose hope and leave, seeing Naruto from afar is better than not seeing her at all.

"Mom I'm home from the market I bought something special for dinner!" Hearing Naruto's sweet voice, Sasuke sits up straight, there he saw the blonde looking beautiful as ever, but her sweet but optimistic, genuine smile has vanished from her face.

"Naruto...I'm right here..." Sasuke said to himself, as he stare longingly at her back.

That night:

Naruto sighed as she stared at Sasuke's picture on her phone, she smiled faintly.

"Goodbye Sasuke..."

Meanwhile, after he finally had the chance to see Naruto (even from afar) he checked himself in on a nearby hotel. Once inside his room he flopped himself over the fluffy bed, pulling his cell out of his pockets. He smiled as he started scanning the blonde's pictures in his phone.

"I miss you Naruto..."'

A/N: Nothing much happen in this chapter but I promise the next 2 chapters will be full of 'excitement' and 'heartache' :D
