Haha...Has it really been three years. Yikes. Sorry bros. But here is the next chapter. Hope those who still follow this story like it.
Chapter Four: First Day At School
Levia looked at her new class schedule with a small smile. The past few days she had been given a break to get to know the school and town. Starscream had insisted that he show her all the good places and so they had been given a chance to get to know each other. She found Starscream to be quite charming, if a bit snarky and rude to the general populace.
She couldn't understand it, but the more time she spent with him the more she got this strange fluttering feeling in her stomach. It was disconcerting for sure as she'd never felt anything like it before. The feeling of her heart clenching and beating rapidly; her body warming more than normal- especially around her face area- whenever they had any physical contact. And she generally hated physical contact with others aside from Sam and her family. But with Starscream, she almost desired it. Things as small as a hand placed her her shoulder made her breath hitch slightly and wish it to stay. Her thoughts and desires were becoming traitorous.
She was shook out of her runaways thoughts by a small nudge and she looked up into the crimson optics of Thundercracker. The seeker had the same classes with her with the exception of art and had offered to show Levia her classes. Out of the seeker trine, she found Thundercracker to be the more level headed and quiet of the three. And her dog Malka, seemed to really like him. She was always found following him and sitting with him. Betraying her in favor of the reverent attention the seeker seemed to bestow on her. Malka's affections were definitely reciprocated by Thundercracker.
"We should start heading out; we don't want to be late." He told her softly, leading her out of their shared dorm and into the hallway. She stole a quick glance at her schedule to see what her first class was and stuffed the paper in the pocket of her jeans, following the blue seeker out. They were almost to the staircase that led down to the classes when they heard a shout.
"LEVIA, WAAAIIIIT!" a voice cried out desperately. She and Thundercracker turned around to see a dramatically teary eyed Sam running at them at full speed, waving a piece of paper in one hand and a backpack in the other. Thundercracker's optics widened, alarmed by the speed the boy was approaching them. And he didn't seem to have any intention to stop.
Levia reacted instantly, calling out to him, "Sam, slow down, you're going to-" she didn't even get to finish her sentence when all of a sudden, Sam's foot seemed to catch on thin air. It was almost like time seemed to slow as he pitched forward, arms flailing to hold his balance. It was in vain as time speed up and he flew straight past her and crashed headlong into Thundercracker. They both went down the short flight of stairs in a tangle of waving limbs and twin grunts as they hit the hard ground at the bottom.
"-trip…." she rushed to the staircase and peered down at the pile of human and seeker. they both seemed unarmed, probably thanks to Thundercracker's metal body.
"Oh god…ow..." Sam mumbled, rubbing his head gingerly. He felt the hard, lumpy surface below him that definitely wasn't the ground. He looked down to see two amused optics below him. His own eyes widened comically when he realized he was practically sprawled across and straddling the mech.
"Oh god!" he scrambled quickly of the fallen seeker, landing on his butt as his face turned a bright cherry red. "I am so so sorry." he rambled. Thundercracker only chuckled and stood, wings aching slightly from the fall. He smirked at the sputtering young man and held a hand out.
"It is quite alright."
Sam glanced at the offered metal hand and then back up at the blue winged seeker. His mouth opened like a stupid fish before accepting and he sputtered another apology as he was hauled easily back onto his feet. His face stayed pink with embarrassment.
Levia frowned and walked down the stairs to her companions. When she reached them, she reached out suddenly and grabbed Sam by the ear. His arms flailed pathetically as slight pain assaulted him.
"Ow ow, Levvi, my ear. You're pulling really hard." He cried. He winced when she gave an unforgiving tug and then let go. "So projecting your mom right now." He muttered sourly, rubbing his sore ear.
Levia huffed. "Sammy, you need to be more careful. You can't just run down halls screaming like a banshee. What if you had run into someone less forgiving than Thundercracker hmm? What if you had ran into a human. That fall would have been a lot more dangerous and you could have been really hurt."
Thundercracker hummed in agreement. "Levia is correct. It's best to exude more caution when walking the halls." He said. Sam gave the seeker a slightly concerned look and Thundercracker realized he made it sound like the school was a dangerous place.
"I do not mean to say you should fear for your life here Samuel. You are perfectly safe. But would you run down human school hallways in that same manner and not expect to upset someone with your actions?" He stated matter of fact. The boy scratched at his curly brown hair sheepishly, avoiding eye contact. Thundercracker had the impression that Sam would and had done just that.
Levia tittered and fussed a little more over the boy, worrying like a mother would her child. Thundercracker found it oddly amusing how different she acted around her friend. She was much more open as she hovered over him.
Levia demanded to see Sam's schedule. He handed to her and she smiled with delight when she found he had the first few classes with her. Sam seemed to wilt with relief at the news. It was as if the thought that he had to attend them alone stressed him.
Finally viewing the altercation over with, Thundercracker hurriedly ushered the two down the hall and off to their classes.
Levia glanced amused at the two seekers next to her.
After lunch she was told her class was science and Thundercracker had informed her that Skywarp would be attending the class with them. The moment they got to class, she chose a seat and the blue seeker followed close behind and claimed the seat next to her, as he had strangely done in all their shared classes. Sam went to take the other but before he could a bright spark of purple electricity flashed next to her and Skywarp appeared out of nowhere. He quickly took the seat for himself.
Both Levia and Sam looked at him in surprise and Skywarp only grinned.
"Teleportation. I can go anywhere I want with a snap of my fingers or thought." He explained cheerfully and sat back in his seat and raised his feet onto his desk.
"Yes, it also makes him extremely irritating." Thundercracker glanced up at the still shocked Sam. "You may sit in the empty seat beside me Samuel." He offered smoothly, gesturing to the vacant seat on his other side. Sam closed his mouth - which was open from his surprise - and nodded. He shuffled awkwardly over next to the blue seeker and quickly plopped into the chair. He gave the mech a quiet thanks.
As soon as everyone was adequately situated, they broke into chatter as they waited for their teacher. Levia was quiet though as Skywarp spiraled into a rant about his day. His purple wings moved erratically with his words. Thundercracker only nodded along, offering only a few words to his purple trinemate here and there.
Sam suddenly leaned forward and whispered over to Levia across from Thundercracker. "Hey Levvi, isn't this science class taught by your other seeker roommate." he asked. Levia perked up but before she could answer, the mech who Sam was talking about sauntered in. With a loud bang, he dropped his datapads on the front desk, starling everyone to attention. He flashed a falsely sweet smile at his group of human and cybertronian students and thread his fingers together behind his back. HIs stance was ramrod straight and authoritative.
"Ah yes, now that I have you slaggerds attention I can begin. For those who are new, I am Starscream and I will be your teacher for science. I have only two simple rules that should be easy for you to follow. Listen and no talking unless spoken to. It's rude and annoying to have to speak over your chatter. I also dislike having to repeat myself. If you listen I don't have to, and everyone has a smooth and swell time." His gravelly voice of no-nonsense belied his smile when he addressed them.
A student in front of Levia and her group rose his hand. "What happens if we miss something?" he said cheekily, as if trying to get a rise out of the seeker.
Starscream's smile turned to a frown and he rolled his optics. "If you listen, then you won't miss anything now will you?" he replied.
"Now, are there anymore stupid questions," he gave a brief pause to give anyone else a chance to speak up. When none did, he continued. "Good, we can start then."
Levia was near the end of her first day of school and it was with great relief when she entered her last class. She had art or more specifically painting, a good a simple class that shouldn't be all that hard. It would allow her to have some fun and wind down before heading back to her dorm.
She didn't know why, but the sudden thought of going back to the dorm room had her feeling apprehensive. She hadn't given it much thought before but after Starscream's class, she felt jittery. Despite not majoring at all in science, she found herself hanging onto every word Starscream had said in his lectures and explanations. In fact, she had only picked one of Starscream's two classes that he taught as she was curious as to how he taught. He was precise and thorough. He covered everything from head to toe and took zero shit from his students. Sam had said he was a hard-ass but Levia knew better. The seeker was just very passionate in his work and he wanted his students to learn, not goof off. It just may have come across as him being a slight control-freak though.
Or hard-ass, as Sam had so nicely put it.
When her teacher finally arrived she was quick to push her thoughts away for later as she brought out a notebook. Her teacher, a mech named Sunstreaker, started listing off everything they would require the rest of the year. She put this in her notes, with a reminder to head to the store afterwards to gather her supplies for each of her classes that required it.
The rest of the class was spent going over color theories and such and she was surprised by how she seemed to have breezed through on auto pilot. Before she knew it, the class was over and she was heading out the door.
She was met quickly by Sam, who seemed to have had no problem hunting her down after his own class. He approached at a much more sedate pace than he had this morning. He steps where almost robotic as he tried not to trip again.
"Hey Sam." she greeted as Sam step up next to her.
"So, my place or yours?" he suddenly asked.
"What? Why?"
"Homework, duh. I'm not gonna do all this on my lonesome." he said, waving a nicely thick binder full of his due work.
"Poor poor Sammy. So incapable of solitude and doing things on his own." she teased.
Sam pouted. "We should do your place."
Levia rose a brow in question. "You do know I have three roommates right? And that my room is also shared with Starscream?" there was the fluttering. She hastily pushed it down.
Sam sighed. "Yes, yes, I know. But my roommate drives me nuts. Like 'needs a good punch in the face' nuts. All it is is boobs and kittens. I would rather death battle it with your roomie slash teacher." he said seriously, giving a weak mock punch to the air in front of him. Levia laughed.
"Whatever you say Sammy. I have to go to some stores though for supplies. Mind joining me and then we can head back to my dorm to go over our collective homework?"
"Sounds like a plan." he cheered and looped his arm with hers.
Levia smiled and led the way.
