Their lips met and the ceremony was over. They stood below the setting sun, the cool blue water lapped at their shins. Guests clapped, though everyone knew they were at least a little confused about who the man she married was. But for the most part, the families were happy. Catelyn was upset, Robb as well. Sansa was pretty happy, and Arya seemed to have mixed feelings, though the good outweighed the bad greatly, just as it did with Ned. Bran and Rickon did not completely understand what was going on. They knew they came here for a wedding, but they thought it would be a different groom. But one of their brothers were up there, so it was a success, was it not?
Then, of course, the couple was beyond ecstatic and beyond in love. It could be seen even from the farthest row back. How they leaned their foreheads together after they kissed, like no one else was in the room. Their happiness was obvious to everyone, even those who did not want those two to end up together. It didn't matter to them. Neither could even think of it at the moment. They were happy. Incandescently happy.
They could have stayed standing in the ocean for much longer than they did, but there was a feast in the palace that was needing to be eaten, and musicians that had been payed to entertain. They were all brought back to the palace, and soon the newlyweds were no longer the center of attention, and they were able just to sit at their table and be left alone—mostly. Some people wanted to talk to them.
"Sorry to interrupt." Tyrion said, walking up to his cousin's chair. "I was just wondering the story behind the change in groom."
Kailasa laughed. "They found him in my bed this morning. I mean, it's not my fault they put the wrong name on the invitations."
Tyrion, who was taking a drink from a goblet started coughing before breaking out into a laugh. "My, my, dear cousin. You make me blush. My siblings will be so upset they missed the dramatics on the Coast."
"Oh, it's better this way." Kailasa replied. "You must make me sound more clever and look more beautiful. Promise me."
"Of course." Tyrion bowed.
"But until you get the chance, meet my dear husband." She said, gesturing to Jon. "Jon, this is Tyrion, Tyrion, this is Jon."
"Nice to meet you." Tyrion said.
"Same to you." Jon said.
"Now, Jon Snow you now possess one of the most beautiful women in Westeros, what do plan to do next?" Tyrion asked.
"I'm afraid it is more what she plans to do with me." Jon replied. "I have heard rumor of Silversheet, but I have yet to see it for myself."
"It will be everything you imagine, I promise." Kailasa told him. "It's much like here, except smaller."
"You will have more ships as well." Tyrion said. "It is where most of the ships are held."
"Yes." Kailasa said. "So many ships. Not as many trading vessels, but it is the safest place on the Coast. The armada is all there. I should probably get the Jones's to go with us. Offer them something they can't refuse."
"I doubt they would refuse." Jon replied. "They all spoke very highly of you when I was with them."
"When were you with her dear boatswain?" Tyrion asked.
"He's a captain now, Tyrion." Kailasa told him. "And he brought Jon here when his family did not bring him along."
"Yes, I should have known he would be a captain by now. Did he get the Jewel? I can guess he did."
"Of course." Kailasa said. "He takes better care of that ship than I did when I captained it."
"Well, I guess I will go find him then and get him to tell me about what it's like to be your underling. It must be terrifying." Tyrion said, looking at Jon. "Good luck with her. She's uncontrollable while she's on her Coast."
"Oh, I believe we'll be just fine." Jon said.
"I'm sure." Tyrion gave a little bow. "I will leave you now." He looked at Jon. "Take care of my little cousin. She is the only one I can stand." He said before leaving them, not giving Jon a chance to reply.
"He's…interesting." Jon said slowly.
Kailasa barked out a laugh. "That's not even touching half of it, but at least he knows who he is and never forgets it. No one can use who he is against him."
"And is that how you got to be so comfortable with who you are?" Jon asked.
"Partially. I also had a good family once upon a time." Kailasa said. "A family who loved and believed in me."
"And you will again." Jon said.
"With you?"
"With me."
"I hope we can add to it." Kailasa said. "As soon as we can."
"Well, I'm happy to keep trying until you kick me out of your bed."
Kailasa laughed. "As if that would ever happen." She took a sip from her goblet. "Good thing we have all night and all of tomorrow morning, otherwise they would be very disappointed because we would not be showing up."
"They wouldn't send anyone after us?"
"Oh, if they did they would feel my wrath, and no one wants that." Kailasa teased him. "And then we will leave for Silversheet."
"Our new home."
"I know you would rather wish to stay in the North." She said softly, taking his hand in hers. "Thank you for coming to the south."
He kissed the back of her hand. "You chose me. In turn I choose you. I knew we would end up here together. I never expected us to go North."
"And you still went with Captain Jones."
"I did, and I had quite the conversation with his wife." Jon said. "You told her about us."
"I told everyone I could about us. I did not know of the wedding contract until my father died. Even then, I tried to tell my story. I kept trying to tell my story. But my brother was playing a High Lord and power corrupts. He was suddenly concerned about allies, and he forgot that I was promised the same thing he was."
"And our children will have the same." He kissed her.
"I am very happy that you agree with me, husband." She smiled.
"It would be hypocritical if I did not. It is only because of that promise we even had a chance to be together."
"And everything would have gone much more smoothly if the men in my family did not jump to conclusions." She said. "But all is well that ends well. It'll just be us now."
"Just us." He agreed.
"And here I thought you would end up in the Stormlands and find a husband." Renly said from behind them, and Kailasa got to her feet to greet him.
"I think we both know it would have never worked out. her husband who also stood." She said, before losing at Jon, this is Renly Baratheon. We met at a tourney when I was thirteen."
"You have quite a woman there, Jon." He said. "I had never seen a knight be frightened of a girl before, but when one touched her she did not hold back. Held a knife to his throat while she stood on a chair."
"I am quite small. Even smaller then." Kailasa rolled her eyes. "I needed to be able to reach his throat."
"She did that in a dress, mind you." Renly told Jon. "To a man twice her age and thrice her size. So be careful with this one."
"Don't worry, I'll respect her." Jon said. "Like the sea."
A/N: I suck, and I am so very sorry. I'm going to blame not updating on my mental state and the coursework load I have in college. I'm a freshmen and I have been taking sophomore and junior level classes trying to graduate early. It's all my fault. So sorry. I do plan to have one last chapter in this story, so this is not the end.
babiluv22: Thank you so much for your reviews and your patience with me. I'm a sucker for happy endings, so you don't need to worry. Thank you!
ZabuzasGirl: Thank you so much for your review! I was thinking of making a sequel which would be a very happy version of the War of Five Kings. I actually wrote it in a notebook already and it's honestly absolute shit but it was fun to write. Thank you! And hey! I updated two days after your review, so that's pretty quick, right?
