RWBY/K 3

Here is chapter 3

"Keep your hands clean! I said," she shouted. She paced back and forth in the center of the warehouse. She was surrounded by dozens of cargo crates big enough to hold cars. "It's not that hard to understand!" she shouted. Her hands lit in flames, causing her subordinates to recoil from the lashes of heat.

In its outskirts, Vale had an abundance of warehouses, some being used to store household items while others went completely unused. Authorities would sweep the area once in a while, but as long as the building were intact no one cared enough to check inside.

It is inside one of these warehouses that we find Cinder Fall. She had a small black mask on her face. It was thin covering only her eyes and nose. She was a pale girl in her late teens. She had long black curly hair, and burning red eyes. She was wearing a black skin tight suit. On her face was a permanent frown that she had on since she heard two of her best subordinates had disobeyed direct orders.

Roman Torchwick stood behind her. He was wearing a fedora hat, and a white coat twirling a cane in his left hand. He silently watched her shout and scream to herself. He contemplated commenting on the situation but wisely kept his mouth shut. He had been planning to leave her and her crazy plans behind. Unfortunately, she had paid him a surprise visit coercing him to start moving all the shipments ahead of schedule.

Cinder abruptly turned to face him. She was calm again, but the fire in her eyes caused him to flinch. He took an involuntary step back. The girl was a mess, but she was a very scary mess. One that he didn't want to provoke.

"Roman," she said softly. Her hands glowed brighter. She walked towards him, and then circled him like a shark. Her heels made soft cliks against the concrete floor with each step that she took. "Tukson doesn't know much, right?"

Roman shook his head. "No, he only knew the location of our last headquarters. The other things he knew weren't all that important. Shops to rob, incoming shipments of dust that we knew of, things we can easily change. When I heard that he was leaving us, I moved our H.Q so there isn't much to worry about."

"Good," replied Cinder. The flames in her eyes disappearing. Footstep echoed in the building. She turned to see Emerald and Mercury. Both had masks similar to her's covering their face.

"Well well," said Roman with a taunting tone. "If it isn't the two amateurs. You kiddies sure know how to make a mess of things."

Mercury growled at him. His instincts itched to lash out, but he controlled himself. He was in enough trouble as it was. After telling Cinder they had blown their cover she had distanced herself from them. Cinder had ordered them to go back to their dorm and stay there until she contacted them. She had basically put them in the dark about her plans. It had been two days since then. Normally they were always included in her plans, but being left out had damaged their self-worth. She finally contacted them and ordered them to present themselves at the base with specific instructions.

"Shut it Roman," growled out Emerald. She was furious, but try as she might to keep a calm facade, her frown kept coming back. If they hadn't tried to fix one of Roman's loose ends, they wouldn't be losing Cinder's trust.

"So tell me about this man that you fought," asked Cinder. She sat down on one of the small crates lying around. She looked curious to know about this new threat to her plans.

"He has a light gray hair. He was lean, and calm," said Emerald recounting what she remembered about him. "At first, he didn't look like a threat, or even aware of the situation, but once we started fighting him his eyes changed color, and he was suddenly a big threat."

Cinder's interest was piqued. "His eyes changed colors?"

Mercury nodded, his arms crossed, and his brows scrunched as he recalled the memory. "His eyes turned red with three commas in each. The commas spun around like wheels."

Cinder nodded. "How did this one man defeat you two? You two are a team for a reason. It's so that you don't get taken out by luck."

Emerald rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. Now that she recalled the fight clearly he had been leading the fight from the start. "He faked his defeat."

"Faked it?' asked Roman. He had been keeping quiet until now, but how could those two be fooled. They were a cocky lot, but they weren't careless.

"Yes, he faked it," replied Emerald. She had a frown on her face, and recounted what she remembered before being knocked out." I stabbed my scythes into him. They went right through him. Once the guy was down, I decided to wait outside to trap Tukson in case he tried to escape, but once I pulled my scythes from the body, it exploded into a small cloud of smoke. I then woke up in our dorm hours later."

"He created a solid fake?" asked Roman. Now that was impressive. He had seen some pretty cool doppelgangers before, but this one took the cake. He remembered the traitorous girl with the shadow semblance that came to mind and Neo's illusions. Those other fakes were quickly destroyed with one hit, but this guy had it take a hit and fake it long enough for those two to drop their guard.

"When I checked for Tukson in the storage room, it was empty," said Mercury with a grimace. "I went back out to tell her, and found her unconscious."

"How did you escape?" asked Cinder, her eyes narrowing. "If this opponent of yours had been so superior. I wonder how it is that you escaped the man, while also carrying an unconscious person, I might add," she said dangerously.

"It was luck," said Mercury, answering quickly. "Someone came into the library, distracting the man. I don't know who, but it gave me the opportunity to activate my semblance and escape with her."

Cinder nodded. "You two need to follow my orders to the letter next time. Otherwise, there will be no next time, understood?"

"We understand," answered Emerald and Mercury in unison.

"You mean you're still going to include them in our plans?" asked Roman confused. It was clearly a bad idea, yet she was going to allow two cover blown members to know about their plans. It was reckless, and careless. "Why don't we just send Vale a letter telling them all about our plans and members. Just save them the trouble."

Cinder's response was to simply smile at Roman. She sat comfortably on the crate, unbothered by his mutterings. "If you would think then you would know that I've already researched our mysterious librarian. I've also kept a scrutinizing gaze on Vale's police reports. He didn't report their attack on him at all. He didn't even report the damage to the bookshop. Who ever he is, he doesn't want to cause a scene."

"So only he knows about them, and how they look," said Roman, thinking about it out loud. This was good. "So if we can kill him, no one will ever know about this?"

"Exactly," answered Cinder with a malicious smile. "He was probably protecting Tukson's reputation. He can't exactly say Tukson is a rogue member of the White Fang now, can he?"

Emerald, and Mercury looked at each other. They remembered this confidence that they had at the bookshop.

"So how do we find him, is he always at the bookshop?" asked Roman thinking ahead. Did the guy still even work at the workshop?

"Why go to him," Cinder looked at one of the large crates hidden among the many, "...when he's already here?"

Kakashi stood his full height above the crate. He was wearing a long skin tight black shirt, and black cargo pants, his eyes glowing a metallic red above his mask.

Mercury, and Emerald both became startled upon seeing the man who had defeated them. They both became wary of the man. They didn't dare let their guard down.

"So that's him," said Roman looking at the librarian. He studied the man for a moment. He looked back to Emerald, and Mercury with a mocking gaze. "How scary."

The two glared back at Roman with unconcealed hate.

Kakashi chuckled, and said, "I knew something was up when you all kept avoiding names. The only name I heard so far was Roman, but I think everyone already knows he's a criminal."

The many large crates in the warehouse simultaneously clattered open. Their sides pushed open to reveal an army of White Fang members. There were, at least, ten large crates surrounding them, and each held fifteen to twenty members.

"A trap. Quite clever," said Kakashi complimenting the dark haired girl. He hadn't fallen for an ambush in quite a while. He had noticed the hidden members in the crates upon arrival. If it weren't for his paranoia, and strong nose, she would have actually caught him off guard. "What clever little kids."

"Thank you," said Cinder with a smile. She then looked to her group of followers. "Kill him."
