RWBY/Naruto 9

The train screeched to a halt. The floor crumpled as the carts behind rammed in its sudden stop. The engine could be heard roaring loudly as it tried to push forward, but with Susanoo's skeletal frame firmly anchored into the walls of the tunnel; roaring was all it could do. An explosion echoed throughout the tunnel, and the train stopped moving. The engine gave out, leaving everyone on board trapped underground. The next few moments punctuated with an eerie silence; the calm before the storm.

The two huntresses facing Kakashi picked themselves up as they prepared to launch their attacks against him. The younger one had her umbrella pointed at him as if it were a gun, which it could very well be, as a lot of weapons doubled for a gun in this world. The masked one gripped the handle of her sword, crouching down and waiting in anticipation.

Susanoo's hands stopped pressing against the walls, and in its left hand a sword slowly took form. The violet chakra kneading itself into the shape of a titanic samurai's sword.

Both his opponents shared the same expression of shock and disbelief. They both glanced at each other, silently agreeing on retreat. They began to slowly back away from the monstrous figure.

"No, I won't let you get away," said Kakashi with a shake of his head as Susanoo attacked them with its sword.

The attack might have been simple to dodge if it were from a human sized swordsman, but it wasn't. The sword cleaved the train apart in a single strike. Metal cut apart as if it were paper. A loud booming noise could be heard from the simple slash. The two huntress managed to dodge it, and they hastily ran away through the next compartment.

Kakashi gave chase, but it wasn't a simple monster chasing after the two. Susanoo was a fierce deity capable of cutting a mountain in half with its sword. Each strike the two Huntresses dodged left in its wake a trail of absolute destruction and ruin. The walls of the train were cut apart, and the ceiling was pushed open due to Susanoo's immense size. Susanoo was only displaying half its size, but even then it was just barely fitting inside the tunnel. The train compartment Kakashi was on had become nothing more than a metal floor connected to the train.

The pink haired girl had enough of running away after she managing to dodge three of Susanoo's strikes. She either realized that the tunnel would lead to a dead end or she had some sort of a plan. It might have been due to inexperience or simple arrogance that she thought she could hurt him, but Kakashi felt inclined to rid the pinkette of her delusions. She quickly charged at him, leaving her ally behind. The masked woman stayed behind gripping onto her katana and held it as if she was gathering strength. She reached him and struck Susanoo in the stomach with her umbrella. The attack had enough power behind it to create a small shockwave, but it was stopped dead by Susanoo's skeletal form. When that failed, she stabbed her umbrella into Sussanoo's abdomen, hoping it would carve right through and pierce Kakashi's vulnerable head. After her second attack failed, she looked right into Kakashi's eyes and realised she wouldn't be breaking through his armor as easily as she hoped.

Suddenly, her body shot across the cart, crashing into the ruins of one of the train's former walls and falling next to the woman who still stood, still gripping her katana. The pinkette blinked in confusion. What had hit her!? She tried to get back on her feet, but she quickly collapsed in both exhaustion and pain.

Unfazed in the slightest, Kakashi swiftly raised Susanoo's sword. Now was the perfect time for him to strike, as both huntresses were standing just a few feet from each other. Kakashi knew that the masked woman had been charging up an attack, and he wasn't going to let her charge it a second longer. Susanoo brought its sword down on them, and the masked woman struck back. Her katana met Susanoo's monstrous sword, and to Kakashi's surprise, knocked Susanoo back. She dropped onto her knees visibly exhausted from her effort with beads of sweat rolling down her neck, which was the only visible part of her. A large gash appeared on Susanoo's shoulder, shocking Kakashi. The woman saw it too, and prepared to strike again, but to her shock and dismay, the cut healed itself quickly. The golems ethereal body grew as chakra kneaded itself over its body. The masked woman stood stunned as she realized she would not be able to fight the monster that stood before her.

"I'm impressed," commented Kakashi sincerely. Not many people had the physical strength to push a powerful deity like Susanoo back; not even in his own home world. Even fewer had the ability to pierce Susanoo's armor like that. "What will do you with the next strike?"

Susanoo raised its sword once again. It moved swiftly, not wasting any time, but it suddenly stumbled. Kakashi's eyes widened as he glanced behind him to see a horde of Grimm launching themselves at him. Several beasts were viciously biting down on Susanoo's back and arms. Susanoo spun around throwing the ones clinging onto it away, and smashed up any others that tried to get a bite out of it.

The tunnel shook and the cart floor beneath roiled as the army of Grimm arrived, flowing through the underground like a river. There were many variety of Grimm coming at him. There were wolves, snakes, and bear like Grimm swarming the place. They rammed into Susanoo like a wave. Kakashi grunted in annoyance as he glanced back behind him to check on his enemies, and found they were nowhere to be seen. Kakashi's annoyance grew, and Susanoo absentmindedly grabbed hold of a Grimm, crushing it. This was turning out to be quite a frustrating day.

Yang woke up slowly. She opened her eyes to try and see a darkened sky, but she couldn't see anything at all; not even a single star. She pushed herself off the ground and groaned in pain. Her head hurt from a bad headache. She winced, but managed to stand up. She blinked in confusion when she realized she was in strange place.

The ground was made of grey blocks, and it seem to keep going like that for as far as the eye could see. She rubbed her forehead trying to remember what had happened, and gasped when she recalled her defeat. She looked around once again, before staring at her hands.

"Am I dead?" she asked herself out loud.

"No," said a familiar voice behind her.

Yang spun around to see Kakashi's head floating. She gasped, and rushed to him, closing the distance between them. "What happened to you!?"

Kakashi shook his head with an amused chuckle. "I'm perfectly fine. My body is still connected, you just can't see it because I'm outside right now."

Yang blinked. "What do you mean outside? We're inside?"

Kakashi nodded then grunted with some effort as if lifting weight before continuing. "I'm currently very busy."

"Busy?" asked Yang becoming more confused. "With what?"

"Oh you know," replied Kakashi with an easy going tone. "Killing Grimm here and there."

"Did you save me?" Yang asked hesitantly. She was starting to realize her situation. She doubted her opponent was the type to show mercy, and if Kakashi was with her then it meant he had saved her.

Kakashi gave her a smile and a nod.

Yang gasped once again as she realized his eyes were now coloured red, and they also had strange marks within them. The strange symbols spun rapidly almost like pinwheels. "Your eyes!" She shouted in surprise.

"These are normal," he answered nonchalantly before grunting again as if he were pushing something heavy. "You think you're okay enough to kill some Grimm?"

Yang pushed the questions she had at the back of her mind, and nodded vigorously. "I was born ready!"

Kakashi chuckled. "Brace yourself, you might feel a bit woozy when I teleport you out."

Yang nodded, and prepared herself. She felt a lurching feeling, and gasped out loud. Right before her eyes everything changed. It was as if someone had changed a tv channel, it happened too fast for her to comprehend. She didn't have time to think on what had happened either because a Beowolf jumped right at her. She rolled back, dodging the surprise attack and prepared to beat it with her fist. She paused in shock once again when she saw an army of Grimm coming at them.

The tunnel was pitch black, but that only made it more terrifying to see. Grimm after Grimm came charging at them, she didn't even think she could count them if she tried. A endless swarm of them moving with one goal in mind, to kill the humans in front of them. The same Beowolf from earlier attacked again, but it was crushed by a monstrous glowing hand.

Yang gaped as she traced the monstrous skeleton like hand back to Kakashi who was inside the ethereal body. It had a bluish tint to it, but the size of its figure was mind numbing. It was unbelievable how fast the giant figure moved.

"Focus!" chided Kakashi, and smashed up another Grimm.

Yang snapped out of her stupor, and decided to pick off the ones Kakashi didn't get. Her aura glowed around her as it empowered her fist to knock some grimes' heads off. Her first victim was a Beowolf who only knew to charge forward, and swipe at its enemy with its claws. She ducked, and punched it right in the chest with her left fist. It swiped with its other hand, but she danced around the swipe like a boxer and gathered strength in her right fist before plowing right through it.

A Ursa appeared after the Beowolf, and lunged at her. She sidestepped its lunge and twirled, gathering strength before she slammed her fist into its collarbone. It was thrown into the concrete wall of the tunnel. At this point the wall of the compartment they were on was all gone, and any wall still standing was quickly knocked down by either the Grimm or Kakashi's skeletal soldier.

Yang smirked as another Grimm attacked her. Her hair started glowing making it almost look like it was burning. It was a Creep, and a angry one at that. It looked like a T-Rex, but with no forelimbs. It was a strange combination of an Ostrich, and T-Rex. It snapped at her, and charged her with its head down intending to ram right into her. It had a thick white mask that was made for ramming into things.

Yang took the challenge, and charged forward. She had her fist up ready to punch it. Yang's eyes glowed producing a burning effect, and she smashed its thick skull into pieces. She smirked at the brief victory, and dodged another Grimm that quickly replaced the last one.

For every one she killed Kakashi took down dozens with his ethereal puppet. Every punch shook the tunnel, and every sword strike cleaved the Grimm in half by the rows.

"Is that your semblance?" shouted Yang as she knocked the head of a Ursa off of its shoulders. She never knew people could have that kind of semblance.

"Sort of," replied Kakashi as he massacred the Grimm. Susanoo smashed another group of Ursa who had gotten too close with its free hand. "It's a special power of mine."

Yang jumped away from a Beowulf and fired multiple bullets into its skull. Its body robotically collapsing. She glanced back at Kakashi to see the giant ethereal body was gone, and he was now fighting the Grimm using only his hands. He was most likely conserving energy now that she was there to help take care of the ones he couldn't deal with. She finally got to see what Weiss and Blake meant when they had praised him as a very powerful Hunter.

He would dodge their swipes almost as if he had already seen them. He was already dodging before they attacked, and he was already countering before they even finished attacking. It was surreal to see someone treat the hordes of Grimm like playthings. He had a small sword in his right hand that he made perfect use of. He whirled and twisted confidently between the lunging Grimm around him, each strike of his sword decapitating a Grimm.

An Ursa rushed Kakashi with its claws out. Kakashi saw it come at him in slow motion, and his sword sparked with electricity as it swiped at him. Kakashi blurred to the side in an instant causing the Ursa to miss its lethal swipe, and forcing it to fall face first on the floor. It slid onto the floor coming right up to Yang's feet. Looking confused, the Ursa tried to stand up but failed. Kakashi ignored it, and focused instead on the more immediate threats. The Ursa snapped at Yang trying to somehow bite her from its prone position.

Yang shook her head at it. It was missing both front legs, as they had been cut off when it had lunged at Kakashi. The shock of losing both legs was too much for it, and it kept trying to move as it had all its limbs intact. Ursa weren't known for their high intelligence. Yang shot a bullet into its head putting it out of its misery.

Feeling motivated, Yang took a deep breath in order to get her second wind. She then continued attacking the Grimm with renewed vigor. She at least wanted to pull her own weight, but then she realized something.

"Hey! Why aren't we retreating!" she called out when she realized they were taking an unnecessary risk. She had only been there with Kakashi for five minutes at the very least, and she was already becoming exhausted. How long had he been holding the Grimm off by himself?

Kakashi glanced at her as he killed a King Taijitu and vaulted over a passing Ursa. "If you want to retreat you can. I can handle this myself."

Yang growled and smacked away a Beowolf that had tried to surprise her. It rolled onto its back as she shot several bullets into its exposed belly."But we can retreat and come back with back up!"

"No need," replied Kakashi. He didn't take his eyes off any of the remaining Grimm. "If they get into the city, it will cause a massive panic. It will create fear, and fear draws in more Grimm."

"Oh," replied Yang feeling embarrassed. She bumped her fist together, and took a deep breath. Now she couldn't retreat.

She jumped forward towards a Beowolf. It tried to take a bite out of her, but she sent it flying with a right hook to the face. She stayed close to Kakashi making sure she watched his back just in case, he might need her watching his back, but she did.

"They're thinning out!" shouted Yang happily when she noticed their were less Grimm coming at them. They weren't getting swarmed like when she had first arrived.

Kakashi nodded, and clasped his hands together. He took a stance to balance himself, and breathed out a fiery ball of flame. It looked as if someone had somehow turned magma into a ball. It was so hot that Yang grimaced from the heat. She stared as it grew in front of him, and then it flew at the army of Grimm. It seem to spin softly almost like a bowling ball, before it hit the beasts. She heard their scream first before it exploded, and the dark tunnel lit up almost as if the sun was right there in front of her. She covered her face, but she still saw the fiery ball of lava plowing through the relentless Grimm who kept mindlessly pushing forward.

"No way," she muttered as she witness the Grimm get wipe out. She looked at Kakashi who was sweating slightly, but he just looked to be simply a little out of breath. "Why didn't you do that sooner?"

Kakashi was silent, and kept looking forward before answering. "They were too close to me. I needed to give myself some room to properly execute a powerful enough attack to wipe them out in one go." He could have used many other techniques to give him the space required, but sometimes it was best not to rush things. He had only needed to wait for the perfect moment to strike.

"Oh," was Yang's well thought out reply.

"Don't let your guard down," warned Kakashi as he stood beside her. "There are more coming."

Yang quickly looked at the farthest end of the tunnel trying to see the Grimm, but she couldn't see any.

"Yang!" screamed a familiar voice behind them.

Yang glanced back recognizing the voice. A smile grew on her face. "Ruby!"

Ruby, Blake, and Weiss were standing at the door of the compartment. Several battle ready officers marched out with them to fight.

Kakashi went through multiple hand-seals. He ignored the group he sensed arriving behind him, and molded his chakra. The many Grimm kept running forward, but Kakashi was waiting for them. Grimm had the potential to be very dangerous, but they didn't work together; they were simply mindless beasts.

Once they were close enough, Kakashi slammed his palms onto the floor; his chakra pulsed as it traveled into the ground.

The people arriving behind Kakashi saw the army of Grimm get skewered by sharp spikes made out of earth. The spikes had stabbed out of the earth with shocking speed. It was comparable to bullets shooting out of the ground. The Grimm had no idea what had happened, and all those hit started evaporating. The ones remaining where so few that the people arriving behind him shot them down.

Kakashi clapped his hands to get rid of any dust on them. He turned back to finally see who was arriving. Ruby was there greeting Yang enthusiastically. Blake and Weiss were just arriving. His eyes traveled farther back to see Vale's police force with their guns armed and ready to kill Grimm. They were filing out of the compartment door, and pouring out to stop the invading force. A weird thin man with a hat and glasses was joining Team RWBY, and he had Zwei in his hands. The little dog happily greeted its owner.

Glynda came out of the compartment door last. She quickly looked around, taking in the massive damage done to the grimm and the tunnel. Her eyes then landed on him, and she marched forward with a serous expression. She stopped in front of him; riding crop in hand. She moved it around in her palm anxiously. Her bright green eyes met his own black eyes, and he didn't see annoyance in here eyes for once.

"You did more than what we asked of you," she said slowly. She glanced at the destruction all around them. "Thank you for your hard work."

Kakashi nodded. "Well, I like to be thorough with what I do."

"So it seems," replied Glynda with a small nod. She looked at him with respect, instead of the normal contempt she had openly displayed in the past.

"Hmhmm," said Kakashi with a nod of his head, "I've always been patriotic."

Glynda gave him a questioning look.

Kakashi smiled nostalgically as he felt something familiar about why he had done all that he had, for people he didn't know. "This is my home to."

Glynda opened her mouth to reply, but a small figure rammed into Kakashi's side.

Ruby was clinging to Kakashi's right arm. She was giving him a big hug with an even bigger smile on her face. "Thank you for saving Yang!"

Kakashi awkwardly slipped out of her embrace as he looked back at Yang to see her and the rest of Team RWBY walking towards him. He noticed that a thin school teacher with them separated off to help the Police force with the Grimm. "Just glad everything turned out okay."

Ruby nodded in agreement, and finally she noticed Glynda standing there. "Mrs. Goodwitch!"

Glynda turned to face the girls with a frown on her face. "Now, why am I not surprise to see you and your team here?"

The girls looked away in embarrassment.

Ruby nervously stepped forward to try and explain how her team once again came to fight the White Fang. "Well, we were in Mountain Glen, and-"

Glynda ignored Ruby, deciding now wasn't the time or place to reprimand her or her team. She gave Kakashi a silent nod, "Excuse me, I have to make sure this tunnel is permanently sealed."

She walked away to help Vale's Police force kill the remaining Grimm.

Ruby sighed in relief with a huff. She looked at Glynda's retreating back. "Well, that went well."

Kakashi nodded with an amused chuckle.

"Yo," greeted Yang as she arrived with the rest of her team. She gave a look at Glynda's retreating back. "How did the police force show up to help so fast?"

"They did arrive unusually fast," said Blake thinking outloud. "They never have such a fast response."

"I was investigating a club, and it somehow lead to me finding an underground subway," said Kakashi explaining how he had gotten involved. "Naturally, I called for back up."

"This we have to hear about," said Weiss speaking up with a hopeful look.

"I'd love to tell you girls all about it," replied Kakashi slowly, "But I need to take a break. I'm somewhat winded after everything that happened."

Weiss frowned at his response, but she didn't push it.

"At least we got the guy behind all this," muttered Blake somewhat satisfied that justice was progressing.

This peeked Kakashi's curiousity. "You did?"

"Yup," said Ruby answering happily for Blake. "Blake caught that Torchwick guy."

"We handed him over to the police earlier," said Weiss. She had a sour look on her face. "Hopefully he rots for all the bad things he's done."

"Ah," muttered Kakashi disappointed. They hadn't caught one of the important ones. He had heard the leader of the White Fang was a man, and had thought they had meant him. Kakashi decided to enlighten them to this. "He's not very important."

"What do you mean!" asked Blake with narrowed eyes. She had clearly taken offence to that.

"How do I put this?" muttered Kakashi as he tried to think of a proper way to explain how Torchwick wasn't very important. "Say the bad guy is at home; he decides to send a bomb to his enemy, and sends it in a package using the public mail system. A mail man delivers the package right?"

"Right," said Ruby answering for her team.

"The mailman is Torchwick," explained Kakashi. "Torchwick is obviously guilty, but we still don't have the main bad guy, or in this case the main bad guys who sent us the bombs."

Blake grimaced as she realized what Kakashi was implying. She looked away guiltily as she remembered her partner in crime. He was also working with that mysterious girl who Kakashi had informed them about. Why else would the White Fang work with her if 'he' didn't consent to it?

"We'll get them all sooner or later," muttered Weiss angrily. "If those ruffians think they can mess with our city without repercussions, then they have another thing coming."

"Yea!" exclaimed Yang loudly.

Ruby awkwardly cleared her throat. She had her team's attention, and Kakashi. "Kakashi, this is an act of war isn't it?"

"It is," confirmed Kakashi with a nod. "An attack like this would have weaken Vale's entire defense if they had managed to pull it off."

"I've been thinking," said Ruby slowly. She looked around making sure no one was close enough to over hear her, "We know about those three, shouldn't we inform Professor Ozpin?"

"You should," answered Kakashi without hesitation, "But keep in mind that your accusation won't have any proof."

"But it is okay with you, right?" asked Ruby again.

"Our agreement is no longer important," said Kakashi with a nod. "Vale is more important right now."

Ruby gave a genuine smile. She sighed loudly in relief. "I thought you would be upset!"

Kakashi offered a supportive smile. "Tell Ozpin this information is from me. I'm sure he'll schedule a meeting if he has doubts."

"Hey," said Weiss cutting in the conversation. She looked worried. "Won't Ozpin distrust you for keeping this information to yourself?"

"Maybe," answered Kakashi. He shrugged after thinking about it. "But it won't matter in the long run. As long as the bad guys are caught, that is what's important."

"You sure are mellow," said Yang trying to ease whatever tension there might be in the air. "I'd be a lot more worried if I was in your place."

Kakashi nodded with an amused smile. "I have experience with these sort of situations."

"This is serious!" said Blake shouting. The police force all glanced at them. Blake blushed embarrassed for causing a scene. She lowered her voice. "You'll be distrusted."

"A small price to pay," said Kakashi agreeing. He started to walk away from the girls. "I'll see you girls around."

"Take care!" said Ruby waving a goodbye.

"We'll try to minimize the damage to your reputation," said Blake as he left.

"We'll visit the book store when we can!" said Weiss promising a visit.

"Have the next volume of Icha Icha make out series ready for me!" shouted Yang in between the goodbyes.

"Yang!" shouted Blake reprimanding her teammate.

Kakashi disappeared in a swirl of dust surprising all who saw.

"Whoah!" exclaimed Yang with wide eyes. "That dude just keeps getting cooler."

"Hmm," said Weiss with a firm nod. "That's class."

"Is it really?" asked Ruby confused. "I thought only rich people did class?"

Blake sighed with a shake of her head. "We need to go back to Beacon, and figure our current problem out."

"Right!" exclaimed the rest of the team as one.

They marched off together. They needed a big break after everything that had happened. The Police, and Glynda would seal the tunnel along with Professor Oobleck's help.
