Eileen 2-
"Eileeny sweet heart try this on!" Mrs. Maswell said turning her daughter around a few times, Eileen shifted uncomfortably her eyes downcast, "I don't know if I like this one," she said. Her mother shook her head, "Sweetheart you look like a princess!"
Eileen shook her head, "I don't want to look like a princess I want to look like a bride!"
It was one month before Eileen's wedding day and she was beginning to regret ever saying "yes" to Brady, her mother was controlling everything! Eileen didn't have a single choice in what to wear, what music to listen to, she almost wasn't given the choice of who was invited to the wedding!
The young girl smiled a very fake smile at her mother as dresses were piled into her pale arms, she tried to hide the tears that were forming in her eyes. Finally she was allowed back into the dressing room, Eileen curled into a ball quietly sobbing.
Her mother had only recently taken interest in Eileen since Brady had proposed, before that she had been ignoring her daughter at all chances seeing her as something dull. Now she was interesting, her sweet baby girl was getting married! Eileen couldn't picture what it would be like if she chose to have children!
Think of Brad, you're doing this for him not her, you're doing this for yourself!
Eileen truly loved Brady, he was sweet and funny he got along with just about everything. He listened when she spoke, and sometimes anchored her when she let her greed get the better of her. He was the best thing that had ever happened to her! And now she was considering running away.
"Eileeny, hurry up I wanna see my precious Angel in her wedding dwess!"
The redhead tensed, tears still rolling down her cheeks, her long beautiful red hair that had been pulled into a ponytail was coming loose from the hair tie.
She wished that her father could have come, he babied her but he wasn't like that crazy… She shook her head, she loved her mother! You love your mother!
Slowly she stood up and pulled down the previous wedding dress replacing it with another, this one was nice but it more suited her mother's tastes like all the others!
Eileen thought bitterly as she zipped up her dress on how everyone had refused her offers for them to be bridesmaids. Even Violet…
She felt more tears form in her eyes, would no one give her a chance anymore?! She heard that Becky and Tobey were dating, how was he allowed the chance to prove himself yet she wasn't?!
Eileen was painfully aware that if she stepped out her mother would notice that she had been crying, most likely she would then scold her for being too emotional and smearing her makeup!
Anger raged through Eileen (she was glad that she was triggered by greed not anger!) she felt that one more word out of her mother's mouth would send her off the deep end!
She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and stepped out, once again putting on her big fake smile. "Oh that is gorgeous sweetie, you look perfect!"
Eileen sighed picking up one of the many ruffles in her thin pale hands, her red fingernail polish countering the bright white cloth, "I don't like it," she said solemnly. Mrs. Maswell shook her head, "Pish tosh darling, you look perfect and that's what is important!"
Eileen was taken suddenly back to the days when her mother had told her that every day was her birthday, she was so stupid and impressionable then…
"I don't like it," she persisted.
Now her mother's patience was growing thin, "And?"
That was it that was really it!
"Mother, I am the bride! I'm going to be wearing this, this is important to me and I want it to be something I can stand wearing!" she shouted. Her mother snarled, "Eileen I am working my butt off trying to make this wedding perfect and you act like an ungrateful worm!" she hissed. Eileen's hands formed fists, "Then why don't you just bug off? Because you are no longer welcome at MY wedding!"
She hadn't intended to say it, it just slipped out. But suddenly she felt a weight lifting off her shoulders, her mother stood there for a moment with her mouth agape and her eyes wide. After those moments were over she was livid, "Fine, see if I care about you marrying that idiot! Your choices in men Eileen are frankly atrocious," she tried to fight back, but Eileen stood firm.
"And let me just inform you *sweetheart* you are no longer allowed to come back to our house!"
As her mother stormed off Eileen shouted, "I would never want to go back there!"
It was true, Eileen detested that place now. It was frilly and pink, and a horrible reminder of her past. The young woman stepped back into the changing booth and set out to put her normal clothes back on, when the realization hit her…She was alone.
No friends to talk to, her father would never be someone she could speak her heart to, and Brady… Brady was great but he wasn't enough!
Tears formed in her eyes again and she sniffled, "I'm going to go home," she said to herself finding it hard to swallow, it felt like a golf ball was lodged in her throat. She pulled on her shirt, her entire life feeling as though it was ending.
She stepped out of the door the changing room…
"Hi, Eileen."
Becky Botsford and Violet Heaslip stood in front of Eileen, sweet but sorry smiles on their faces. The young redhead gaped at them, wiping away tears quickly, "What-what are you doing here?" she questioned grabbing her arms in a defensive pose. Violet looked at her hands, "Brady talked to us, and well…"
Becky took over, "He made us realize that we were being jerks! You've really changed, and we'd both be honored to be your bridesmaids!"
Eileen was shocked oh that wonderful man! "Are the positions still open?" Violet asked shyly. Eileen felt joy spread through her body, "Yes! Yes you can," she cried pulling both of them into hugs. She felt both of them hug her back, their warm hands giving her a comforting pat on the back, "Thank you," Eileen whispered, "Thank you so much!"
If I remember correctly Eileen's last name was Maswell, but I can't be sure. I tried looking online but it doesn't say, so maybe I just made it up or something X)
