ARCHER
He'd had a hard life and for all he'd charmed and smiled his way through life, he knew he was missing several experiences that others had been given. Marion – despite all her flaws – gave him hope for a brighter tomorrow. Archer was smart and he was resilient. He'd meant what he said when he'd encouraged Marion to let go of the past and become a new person. He'd been like Marion once, all bitter and twisted till he realised there was more to life than sorrow and anger.
Currently Archer was in a state of shock for he'd just been ambushed by two men in the forest, both of which claimed to be his brother. Half-brothers at that. One seemed to be a vigilante with the other that this dark and threatening vibe about him.
Both wanted Archer to join their side but Archer didn't know either from Adam and quite frankly had bigger fish to fry.
He wanted to marry Marion and knew in his heart of hearts that she was the one for him. He couldn't offer her stability but that hadn't stopped her from chasing Robin – his…brother. He had a ring picked out and everything. He was going to climb up to her window and surprise her, till she'd come racing to his hiding spot in the woods with some distressing news.
In light of the ever expanding trouble of Nottingham, his precarious political position and the trouble with his niece Daisy, her Father had decided it was time they moved away.
Marion was heartbroken and equally so was Archer. How could he ask her to marry him when she would have to leave her Father behind, he couldn't because she'd be distraught. He'd been hoping that once Edward got over the shock of their union that he'd house them under his roof but that looked like a pipe dream now.
Still, he climbed up to her window after leaving both Robin and Gisbourne in the woods because she was expecting him and he couldn't let her down.
"Are you alright? You've been agitated recently. Is it something I've done for I've been trying to become a better person."
"Of course not, no, I am sorry Marion for I am not myself."
"Has something else happened?"
"I got some startling news but that is not what has caused my mood."
"Then what has?
"How soon will you be moving?"
"Father is uncertain for he knows the Sheriff watches us. Why?"
"Before you told me of your impending move I was going to ask you for your hand in marriage. Of course I realise I cannot ask that of you now for you couldn't leave your Father and your happiness matters most greatly to me."
"You were going to ask for my hand?"
Archer nodded.
"You aren't going to ask now for you don't want to separate me from my Father and cause me sadness?"
Again he nodded.
"I have been by my Father's side for more years than I can remember. I believe it is time for a new adventure."
"I can offer you no stability and no money."
"I don't need it."
Archer looked at her long and hard, satisfied when he could no longer see the old person that was full of negative emotions.
"Marion, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?"
"Yes."
