Disclaimer: I don't own BBC Robin Hood
AN: I'm terribly sorry for the nose dive this story has taken. I've really struggled to have any motivation to write it and I'm afraid my muse has completely left me. Perhaps one day I'll come back and revisit it. ~Hannah
SIR GUY
There comes a point in life where you must stop and evaluate what has led you to the point you now find yourself in. Sir Guy found himself between a rock and a hard place. His childhood hadn't been particularly special and he'd often found himself the 'forgotten child' as his parent's doted on his sister Isabella and not him. Even in childhood Hood had been the golden child that seemed to have a perfect life. The perfect life that Guy had wanted for himself. When Hood had finally left to sow his oats and later for war, Guy had vowed that when Hood returned he would no longer be the golden child for Guy would now own that title.
It hadn't worked like that.
A lifetime of following someone else's orders had only further aggravated Guy and made him realise what a mess he'd made of his life. He had planned to be the one on top and instead he'd gone from being in one person's shadow to another.
He'd wanted Marion because she was everything that was good with life. This pure innocent being that he felt he deserved. That she was in love with Hood only made him want her more. He could have given her everything she'd ever want or need but she rejected him time after time, proving that the monster he saw when he looked in the mirror was the same monster that everyone else saw.
Now it had come to this. The Sheriff proposed a plan so cunning and so horrific that Guy was standing here wondering what he should do.
To trap Hood was one thing. That was a game they had been playing and losing at for several years now.
To lay a plan in place that would bring harm to Prince John AND steal taxes from him was a gamble Guy wasn't sure he was willing to make.
Having doubts was one thing but acting on them was another. Guy wasn't sure he wanted to stick his neck out. Above all he valued his own life and a life where he was no one's servant.
Perhaps it would just be saver to leave now and start somewhere new.
A county with no Tyrant Sheriff would be a good place to start…
