Chapter 10 : Yes, trust issues are a thing.
Disclaimer: No matter how much I wish I was James Patterson, I'm not, so I don't own Maximum Ride. I'M SORRY IF MAX IS OOC! I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Goddammit I promised myself I'd have this out by the end of June. I got really distracted by seeing Kingsman, then I started to write this chapter but it got so fuckin weird. I kinda realized that after I mentioned marshmallows for the fourth time. bUT GUYS MARRIAGE EQUALITY FUCK YEAH Also this is technically chapter 10, but I like the chapter numbers and the chapters to be consistent.
fUCKING dammit its 8-13 this was not what i wanted fuck
SERIOUS TALK TIME! So I was literally beating myself up over which plot line to use, because originally I had two, but the second one demanded a sequel, and I really don't have the motivation for that. I've moved onto other stories, and the writing at the beginning of this story needs so much work that it makes me cringe. So I've decided to go with the simpler one, it has fluff abound, and 0% of an actual plot. There will probably be one more chapter after this, because I'd like to finish this story off. I will warn you though, this is horribly rushed, and I'm just barfing out whatever words come to me and putting them on the page.

"Holy shit."
"You know the gods are going to kill you." Was the first thing Thalia said when Percy finished explaining. My boyfriend winced.
"That bad?"
"Yeah."
We were sitting in a meeting around the ping pong table, the councilors had been summoned, and had listened to Percy's story with the occasional interjection from me.
The horse guy - sorry, centaur - let out a long sigh.
"Percy, my boy, why do you have to attract so much trouble?" He asked, making the son of Poseidon's face heat up.
"It's not my fault!" He whined, and two brown haired brothers snickered.
"Well," one drew out the word, "we can certainly make you into a trouble magnet." The other finished with a shit-eating grin. Percy paled.
At that, a girl with bushy red hair stood. I assumed that this was Rachel, Percy's best friend.
"Travis and Conner, under no circumstance are you allowed-" So the ones that spoke must have been the Stoll brothers.
"Chill out Dare, we were joking." Rachel started to sit down, giving them a harsh glance, and when she did, I recognized the sound of a whoopee cushion. The brothers dissolved into hysterical laughter, pulling various other people in the room with them, while the other half just rolled their eyes. If looks could kill, Rachel would've burnt a hole in the Stoll brothers skull by now.
Chiron stamped his foot -hoof- and the giggles dissipated, but before he could even speak, another voice interrupted.
"Perry has been summoned by the council." Everyones head swiveled towards the wine god, who I had forgotten was even in the room. When the he say everyone looking ay him, he rolled his eyes and flipped another page in his magazine.
"Just because I am not Hermes, doesn't mean I can't pass on messages." Dionysus said, clearly exasperated.
"By which you mean Zeus told you to tell me." Percy said, voice dry. Dionysus paused halfway between turning a page, and turned his head to look at the Sea Prince. Which probably wasn't a good thing, since the god gave Percy a look that reminded Max of the way an elephant looks at an ant. Thalia must have seen the look since she quickly intervened.
"Mr. D, why, exactly does Kelp Head here need to go to Olympus?" Dionysus rolled his eyes and flicks another page.
"Do I look like Hermes to you?" The god asked. Percy opened his mouth to respond, but I flicked his elbow, suitably distracting him for the moment.
There was an awkward moment of silence, before the Apollo councilor, Will, or something, blew out a puff of breath.
"Can I go? Because this is not the first time Percy has been summoned to Olympus, and he's still here." The blonde said, pulling laughs from every one at the table.
Chiron smiled and waved a hand. "Yes, you may all leave, except for Percy and-" he paused looking at me across the table. "What did you say your name was again my dear?" He asked with a soft smile.
"Max." I said unsurely. Even though Percy had gotten me to open up for him, I was still wary of other people.
"Everyone except Percy and Max." Chiron said, and chairs scrapped against the floor as the rest of the councilors stood up to return to their cabins.
"Well," the centaur said as soon as everyone was out of the room. "We don't have much more to discuss." Percy nodded like he had expected that, but I'm sure he was only being cooperative so he could get out of the room quicker.
"I will ask you one question Percy." Chiron said, face eerily blank. Percy knit his eyebrows. "Okay?" He said, confused.
"Can we trust her?" Chiron asked, face still blank. He stared at Percy, completely ignoring me. Seems like I wasn't the only one with trust issues.
"I trust her with my life." Percy said, lips pressed together firmly.
I blinked at my boyfriend. I knew he trusted me, but I never knew how deep his trust extended. He gave me a hesitant smile and pulled me up from my seat and out the door, leaving Mr. D and Chiron to converse privately.
I was quiet durning dinner, plenty aware of Percy shooting me concerned looks while talking loudly with his friends. It was only when the sun had set and the rom was awash in moon light when I said, "Did you mean that?" When there was only silence, I bumped his shoulder with mine.
I heard a muffled, "wha?"
I turned over, my nose bumping Percy's, his sea green eyes still fogged with sleep. I felt kinda bad for waking him, but I repeated my question.
"Did you mean that?"
Percy blinked, eyes still unfocused.
"Yeah. C'n I go b'ck t' sleep?" He said, syllables running together.
There wasn't a lot of people I had trusted, Jeb, the flock. I had thought I was safe with them too, but I think Percy was the only person I had ever felt completely comfortable with. I turned back over, and settled to sleep. Percy buried his nose in my hair.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
