AN: HEY! So sorry it's been so long, never ment for it to take this long! I've just been kinda in a slump, but I've been writing this chapter in my head for over a month and I am finally sitting down and writing it out. I know that I should be updating Painful memories or forever changed but this story just keeps coming to me. I put a poll up on my profile asking which story you would like me to update next. The poll will be up for a week so please vote if you'd like a certain story. Poll will end 10/28 and whichever has the most votes will be the next story updated! I would also like to thank all my reviewers/followers/favorites! You guys are the best, last chapter got the most reviews for the story so far! (I listened to Britney Spears – Everytime, while writing the first part of this chapter, I recommend listening to it while you read the first part.)
Chapter six:
Clary's POV:
I look up, feeling safe and warm. Jace's arms are wrapped around my waist and we are dancing around the room. He's smiling that cute little goofy grin he does when he's happy. I smile back and try to hide the blush forming on my checks.
"You look beautiful tonight." Jace whispers in my ear and I fail at hiding my blush. I glance down at my dress. Its dark green and falls to my knees, it's completely stunning and I look back up smiling. I've never felt so beautiful before. I look at Jace and he's wearing a tux and I glance around the room and realize everyone is dressed to the nines. I see a sign behind Jace's head that says PROM 2015. I focus back on Jace and lean in close to his ear.
"You look even better." I whisper before slowly pulling back. Suddenly I realize it's not Jace I am dancing with; it's Sebastian with blond hair like Jace. I gasp slowly and try to pull away but he's clutching me tightly.
"Stop." I whisper and look around the room for someone to help me, but I realize the room is now empty and we are alone. I feel like I can't breathe and the room feels like its caving in.
"It will always be me Clary." Sebastian says and I snap my eyes back to him while shaking my head.
"No." I say softly and he just laughs as he dances me around the room.
"Jace will never want you Clary; I'll be the only person to ever want you." Sebastian says harshly and I shake my head widely again trying to get him to stop. He spins me around in a big circle before dipping me and then pulling me back up quickly. We are dancing around at a fast pace and I almost can't keep up. Everything is spinning and suddenly Sebastian drops me and I land on the floor. He's gone and I am sitting alone in the middle of the room, tears are dripping down my face and I hear Sebastian laughing in the distance and I close my eyes tightly trying to get the spinning feeling and his laughs to stop.
I suddenly sit up gasping looking around the room, I realize I am in my bed and it was just a dream. Tears are falling down my face, it felt so real. I quickly brush them away as I push the covers off my body and slowly get off the bed. My ribs feel tender as I slowly make my way out of my room and to the bathroom. It has been a week since Sebastian brutally raped me. After what happened I had gone to bed that night, waking up almost every hour in pain. The next day I had gone to a clinic in town, they checked me out and said nothing was too serious. My ribs were bruised and they wrapped it up. My eye was swollen and they had to put in a few stiches above my eyebrow but other than that I just had to wait to heal.
When my dad saw me for the first time he didn't even say anything, just looked at me. I told him I had been mugged and he rolled his eyes before going back to his newspaper. He told me he wasn't telling my mother and if I wanted to I had to do it. That was the end up that, and Susan didn't even glance up from her breakfast. No one even mentioned how Sebastian had three scratches down his face. If my dad cared about me he would realize that my wounds and Sebastian's were connected but he didn't care. I had been avoided Jace because I was sure he would see right through my 'mugged' story. He had been calling and texting like crazy but I hadn't replied because I didn't know what to say.
After using the bathroom I took a quick shower and headed back to my room. Sebastian had left me alone since it happened; I think he was waiting for me to heal so he didn't accidently kill me. But I knew being ignored by him wouldn't last forever. After getting dressed in a pair of shorts and a tank top I headed down stairs for breakfast. It was a Saturday morning but no was here, everyone having left earlier that morning. I wasn't sure were anyone was but I didn't care it was nice to be alone. I was in the middle of eating a bowl of cereal when I heard a loud knock at the door, the house had been so silent that it scared me and I almost dropped my breakfast on the floor. I placed my bowl on the counter and slowly headed towards the door.
JACE'S POV
Clary had been avoiding me like the plague all week. She ignored my texts and calls, and the one time I came over her step brother told me she wasn't home. I didn't believe him but I couldn't really do anything about it. I hated Sebastian, he was such a prick. At school he did everything and anything to bug the crap out of me. I was glad he graduated this year so I wouldn't have to deal with him much anymore. I had gotten up fairly early for a Saturday during the summer but I knew Clary got up early so I was going to try and catch her before she got away again. After eating breakfast and showering and getting ready I headed over to Clary's. There weren't any cars in the driveway so I wasn't even sure if she was home. I headed to the door anyways and knocked loudly. I knocked again after a while and I heard a slight creak by the door but still it didn't open.
"Clary I know you're in there." I finally remarked as the door didn't open. I was getting annoyed I didn't do anything that drastic to cause her to ignore me for a week. Plus when she left my car last Saturday she said she would see me soon, so why would she ignore me?
"I don't know what I did to make you ignore me Clary but were wasting away our summer. This is all the time we get; I want to spend it with you." I said loudly so I knew she heard me. I heard another creak and finally the door opened, but only about half an inch. All I could see was a tiny part of her face.
"I am not ignoring you. I know it seems like it but I've just been trying to deal with some stuff and I knew you flip when you found out." I raised an eyebrow and tried to get a better look at her but she was holding the door and wouldn't let me push it open.
"What am I going to flip out about Clary just tell me?" I asked in a much gentler voice then I had been using. She sighed so softly I almost didn't hear it before she fully opened the door. She turned quickly and her back was facing me. I slowly walked into the house and I grabbed her shoulder slowly turning her to face me. She had her arms wrapped around her stomach and she was avoiding eye contact. Right away I could see why she said I would be upset. She had giant bruise on her face that made me gasp. It looked like it was healing but it was very ugly and it looked like it hurt very much.
"What the hell happened?" I demanded and she shuttered for a moment, and I realized I must have scared her.
"Sorry, but what happened?" I asked in a normal tone of voice and she shrugged lightly.
"So random guys mugged me when I was walking home from the store the other night." She said like it was no big deal.
"What guys? When? Why didn't you ask me for a ride to the store? Was it at night, you know you shouldn't be walking around alone at night Clary!" I started the sentence in a calm voice but it got a bit angry towards the end and she flinched again.
"Sorry, I didn't want to bug you." She whispered and I could see tears forming in her eyes.
"Clary you could never bug me." I said before slowly pulling her towards me and into a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and I sighed deeply.
"Clary you need to tell me what they looked like, I am going to find them and kill them." I said after a moment and she pulled away and looked up at me.
"Jace the police are looking for them let them deal with it." She said but I almost felt like I didn't believe her, it was almost like she was trying a little too hard with this story. I narrowed my eyes at her but she looked away before stepping away from me completely and standing awkwardly with one arm wrapped around her waist the other was picking at her lip while she stared a hole into the floor.
"I feel like there is something you're not telling me, did they do something else to you." I said slowly and she looked up at me quickly with fear in her eyes.
"No! Nothing else happened." She said quickly and loudly. I wanted to ask some more questions but she looked like she was done so I decided to drop it.
"Red next time you need to go somewhere call me." I said and she nodded and started to head towards the kitchen. I shut the front door before following her into the kitchen.
"Thanks now my cereal is soggy." She commented to me while dropping a spoon into a bowl and putting both into the sink.
"Not sorry." I said with a laugh and she giggled a little as well and it was nice to see a smile on her face, even if her face looked horrible.
"So what are we going to do to kick off our summer?" I asked while opening her fridge and pulling out a can of soda. She shrugged and we both headed into the living room, sitting on one of the sofas.
"I was thinking maybe we could go to a water park?" I asked opening my can and taking a sip.
"Maybe" She said when suddenly the front door banged open and we both jumped lightly, we looked over and watched Sebastian come in closing the door behind him. He looked over towards us and glared when he saw me sitting there. I glared back as he entered the living room.
"What are you doing here?" He sneered and Clary tensed up next to me.
"What does it matter to you?" I commented back and he looked from Clary to me with the most hatful look in his eyes. I noticed three deep scratches on his face and it struck me as strange.
"It matters to me because this is my house, and she is my step sister." He commented back before suddenly stalking over and grabbing Clary roughly by the arm and dragging her off the couch.
"What are you doing?" I shouted while standing up and heading over to them.
"Get the fuck out and stay away from my step sister." He said venomously before letting go of Clary, who stumbled and almost fell. He stalked over to the front door and threw it open.
"Come on Clary." I commented lightly before grabbing her hand and lightly pulling her with me out the front door.
"The fuck!" Sebastian shouted as I pulled Clary with me.
"This isn't over." I yelled to Sebastian before he loudly slammed the front door. Once we got over to my house I pulled Clary to face me and looked into her eyes.
"Are you okay?" I asked. The encounter was weird; I've never seen Sebastian act that rude before. He's never liked me but he never flipped out like that when Clary and I hang out.
"Yeah." She shrugged
"He's just really stressed lately since he didn't get into his first choice college and now he has to go somewhere else." She said like it didn't matter that he was just a total asshole.
"Where did he get those scratches?" I asked and she looked towards the floor.
"I don't know." She said and then pulled away from me and headed up the stairs towards my room. I had a bad feeling in my stomach and I hoped Sebastian had nothing to with Clary getting mugged. I followed her up the stairs after a moment, realizing I still had my can of coke in my hand I took a long sip.
CLARY'S POV
After the weird encounter with Sebastian we hung out in Jace's room for the rest of the day just listening to music and planning random fun things to do this summer. It was easy to forget Sebastian and his craziness while sitting here with Jace.
AN: Hope this didn't suck; it didn't come out like I wanted it to. But I have outlined the rest of the story and I lied at the beginning. I said it was going to be longer then always mine but I am not sure it will, chapter wise anyways. I original planned things to happen later, but I've changed things and they are going to happen a little earlier than planned. So according to my outline this story will be about 14 or so chapters. What do you guys think? This is all chapters with just pure plot (all but one which is just fluffy fun) but if you want more let me know and I will add fluffy Jace and Clary and some more Seb hurting Clary chapter's in-between all chapters containing plot. Like I was planning the summer to be just three more chapters, but if you want more summer let me know and I will add it in. Also don't forget to vote on my poll for the next story you would like to see updated!
