Ben was in his Animagus uniform, walking and sightseeing the island and the area around it, it was a great view, the ocean's cool breeze touch his skin
This was the rendezvous point Ras'al Ghul have appointed them in incase he approves of his offer
But this isn't an ordinary island, Ben was at Infinity Island, home base to the League of Assassins, or, that is what Ben suspects, as far as Ras'al Ghul said, he wasn't given any coordinates or details on how to find this place, in fact, Ras'al Ghul was testing him, a test to see how fast he can figure things out
Putting two and two together, Ben knows that Ras'al Ghul will be warry on him, which is quite normal, an assassin always thinks of the worst case scenario, forcing themselves to be on their toes
As Ben was about to move to another site destination, a group of assassins clad in black uniforms and masks dropped their way from above a small cliff and landed on front of Ben armed with Katanas
"Nice entrance, but if you ask me, jumping on top of a taller cliff would make me give you guys a perfect 10… or a funeral" jeered Ben
The assassins then drew their swords and readied their stance as they are about to strike Ben down
"Well that's rude, that's no way to treat your guess" said Ben cockily
A single lone assassin from the group rushed towards Ben, the assassin was about to slash Ben in half but before the assassin could, Ben sidestep from the assassin, missing the slash, and with one swift motion, Ben kicked the assassin towards the sea, eliminating 1 from a group of 9
Seeing their comrade down, the rest charged at Ben with great ferocity, Ben conjured his staff out of nowhere and used it to parry the swords, sidestepping and parrying various slashes and jabs, at one moment, Ben has to jump from the air to dodge an attack and while he's midair, kicked the head of one of the assassins which made a cracking sound
Upon defeating another one in just a few seconds, the rest formed a circle around Ben, a strategy that allows the assassins to reduce the defense coverage of the opponent
"You know what, maybe we guys got on the wrong foot, so I'm just going to set my staff over here and let's discuss this like civilized people aright?" said Ben as he laid his staff on the ground slowly
Without a minute to loose, the assassins charged at him, with a sly smirk, Ben went to a combat stance, as he does, he parried, disarmed, dodged, and countered all attacks by the assassins, displaying proficient unarmed combat capabilities
Ben is now currently surrounded by fallen assassins, slowly and groggily, they rose up and went to another combat stance, ready to strike Ben despite their weakened state, this display alone led Ben to ready his stance again for the upcoming impending attack
But before the assassins and Ben went into another rumble, a loud clang that sounded like a wooden cane drew both parties' attention to the sound
Ras'al Ghul was atop the cliff along with Ubu, his personal handpicked bodyguard, Ras'al Ghul has been observing the battle from the start, which unnerved Ben as to how easy it is for the master assassin to hide their presence
Ras'al Ghul looked at the battlefield, his eyes filled with focus and curiosity, Ras'al Ghul looked at Ben with great interest, he then locked his eyes on the assassins surrounding Ben, eyes filled with disappointment mixed with intimidation, the assassin saw this and bowed at him all the while backing away from Ben
Ras'al Ghul casually jumped off the clip along with Ubu, both landing in front of Ben elegantly
"Welcome to my humble abode young sorcerer" greeted Ras'al Ghul
Ras'al Ghul escorted Ben to the whereabouts of the secret entrance to the League of Assassin's base, the entrance was beside the coast of a beautiful beach, complete with white sands, palm trees, and rock formations, but it was the rock formation that resides the entrance to the base
Ubu reached his hand on the flat surface of the rock formation, a scanning light appeared under his hand, with that, the ground shook around them, the ground was in fact an elevator, the group slowly elevated downwards with a blast door slowly closing the hole that wan once the elevator disguised as soil
Ben could see the entire facility while on top of the elevator, the complex was huge, there was a giant aquarium in one of the walls were he saw assassins using dive scooters, on the opposite end, there was a sparring ring used by the assassins to practice unarmed combat, there was even a shooting range, but what impressed Ben was the sleek fighter jets and transport planes parked below
"Impressed?" said Ras'al Ghul to Ben
"Oh yeah…" said Ben while gawking at the place
The elevator then stopped, the group then walked their way across the huge cavern, passing by the sparring ring and the target practice area, Assassins constantly bowing to Ras'al Ghul every time he passed
The group then entered another cave, this cave have many rooms, but the group presses on towards the end of the room, by the time they arrived at the end of the room, a spiral stairway that leads downwards is seen, the group fallowed this path, upon reaching the end of the stairway, a hall is seen along with a door decorated with a Arabic themed designs
Ubu pushed the door and gestured both Ras'al Ghul and Ben to enter, with the group now inside the room, Ben was left with Ubu which was now closing the door and Ras'al Ghul who was now sitting at a long desk
"Please have a sit young sorcerer" offered Ras'al Ghul while pointing a sit opposite to him at the long table, Ben thanked the Master Assassin and sat down
Ben looked at the room they're currently at, it was a bit dim but still capable of sight, the room was decorated with various Arabic aesthetics, the walls were made of quality wood, overall, the room was elegant
"Thank you for inviting me to your home, so, what would you like to discuss with me?" questioned Ben in a formal matter for as he knew that this was not the time to be cocky, he was in a mission under the jurisdiction of Doctor Fate
"Your status as a potential council member of our little 'group'" answered Ras'al Ghul
"You haven't told me anything of this 'group' of your since we last met" replied Ben
"Yes, the circumstances when we met was not very hospitable, perhaps now's as good as any to explain to you our endeavor" said Ras'al Ghul
"You see, you were selected for your qualification, a master magician, and one with an infamous credibility, this group of ours requires someone who is an expert and a specialist in that field, I should tell you that we don't simply let anyone join" explained Ras'al Ghul
"Go on…" said Ben to Ras'al Ghul to continue
"It has been a year since, and that position remains empty, with your talents, we have come to an agreement that we will be recruiting a new member, one with excellent abilities such as yours" said Ras'al Ghul
"What happened to the previous holder of that position?" questioned Ben
"We don't currently know, and my knowledge of the occult is limited, what we do know is that the previous holder of that position was defeated by the Justice League, they haven't returned ever since" said Ras'al Ghul, judging by his sentence composition, Ben knew that Ras'al Ghul wouldn't want to release any information regarding the previous holder of the position
"If I am to accept this membership, what am I to expect on this group's future endeavors" asked Ben
"You are to expect a global cooperation of the group's various members to achieve our organization's main pursuit" answered Ras'al Ghul
"And what pursuit is that?" asked Ben
"Tell me, with the discovery of extraterrestrial beings out there who are more advanced than humanity, do you feel dread just by knowing the fact that at any time if they so wish, they could simply obliterate us even with the Justice League operating?" said Ras'al Ghul
"I do" said Ben, recounting all the past events were aliens terrorized the Earth or how aliens could easily go to and forth to Earth as if it's a park
"Then what we are going to achieve is to make the Earth very powerful, we will make the Earth the center of this galaxy, no longer will humanity will have to cower on their lack of strength against these creatures, we will be the pinnacle of civilizations" said Ras'al Ghul ruthlessly
"The objective is quite grand, and I am highly intrigued with this, but how are you going to do that?" asked Ben
"We have the plans, all we need are the members, we cannot do this alone without the help of every field of knowledge, so now tell me, are you interested in joining our group?" asked Ras'al Ghul with a smile
Ben contemplated with it for a second, although what Ras'al Ghul said about different fields of knowledge means that the members will be very unique from one another, which means that these will be people who have organizations of their own, but what Ben really want is the thrill of fighting aliens to save the Earth, with a final though, Ben let out a smile
"Very well, I accept your offer, it is too interesting to pass out" said Ben while smiling
"But how do I know the members and the name of the group? Will I be given some kind of a report?" asked Ben
"Yes, you will be given a report, but the report pertains about the activities of our group, not the history of it, for more in depth information, you can question our founder" replied Ras'al Ghul
"And when do I get to meet this founder?" asked Ben
"Right now" said Vandal Savage
Both Ben and Ras'al Ghul looked at the wall that is actually a giant monitor screen, there, they see the rugged face of Vandal Savage
"You must be the leader of this group" said Ben
"All members are equal" said Vandal Savage
"The name of this group is called The Light, our goal is to make everyone "see the Light", to let them see their weakness and inspire them to grow out of that weakness, we believe how the evolution of humankind is being hindered by the "heroes" that protect it from the needed factors to evolve" explained Vandal Savage
As Vandal Savage finished his explanation, more faces appeared on the screen, Ben recognizes Lex Luthor and Queen Bee, the rest are a mystery to him
"On this day forth, you will be known as L-7, welcome to the Light" said Vandal Savage, the rest of the members on the monitor and Ras'al Ghul smiling

His recent induction to the Light made Ben think of his situation, not only was he the newest member of the Light, but he was now given access to confidential materials in the Light's many operation, but still, he was not given the access to know the identity of the previous holder of the spot of L-7
But aside from that, he was reading all the cases, reports, theories, manuscripts for the Light's plan, one such idea was burning half the world with a powerful solar flare in order to make the populace dependent on the government the Light will set, other intel is the location and whereabouts of Green Arrow's protégé, Speedy, now known as Red Arrow, which confused Ben why they kept this as a classified information where in fact, Red Arrow is currently patrolling at Washington D.C.
Another was a research conducted at Cadmus on cloning a new Superboy and enhancing the clone with other exotic genetic engineering or how Lex Luthor and Ras'al Ghul is manipulating the strings of two foreign government into a single country where LexCorps the major investor, making the new founded country under the command of the Light
But what interested Ben the most was the Scarab found in Bialya, said to be extraterrestrial in origin, the technology was designed as an infiltrator used to subjugate a single host on the targeted planet, once enough information has been collected regarding the planet's military, culture, politics and economy, the Scarab will then contact the Reach Armada to claim the world, although, it should be noted that only a very few civilizations can actually be in par with a Reach battle ship
According to the research conducted by the previous L-7, the primitive people of Bialya managed to extract the Scarab and deactivate in using powerful sorcery, it is also noted on the report that the Reach must not find out about this discovery
As Ben found out, the Light is secretly sabotaging the Reach in order to reap all the benefits the Reach has to offer while impending their progress of actually claiming the Earth as their own, and the Scarabs and the Temple of Isis are the key features in all of this
"Boy, this is a lot to take in" said an exhausted Ben after reading so much and knowing many revelations
"Maybe I should contact Naboo… but I'm so tired~, I'll do it tomorrow" said Ben to nobody by himself, after he finished contemplating, he immediately removed his jacket and went straight to bed

A red portal opened in a large fiery cavern full of magma and demons, out came Klarion, his usual face of that of a smiling trickster morphed into something of that of focus and discipline
"And so the Lord of Chaos returns to my realm" said the giant shadowy figure sitting in the throne
"I'm here for business" said Klarion with a serious tone, Klarion then levitated his way towards the shadowy figure
"I see" said the shadowy figure, now standing up and moving towards the levitating Lord of Chaos
The two raised both hands at each other and created an unholy magic circle, a sign of shaking hands as a contract was made
"Business as always" said Trigon

Perhaps there is something brewing even bigger not the League or the Light can comprehend
