Hi.
Yeah, it's been a while. Like, two years. I know.
Well, I started getting into roleplaying, like really getting into it. That's the main reason why I stopped writing, among a few others. And I've met some good friends. But I've also been stabbed in the back too many times, so I'm getting back into just fanfiction. It's easier on me, I guess.
Anyway, I wrote this while I was at work, during training videos. Since I'm done with that, I'll probably only write during my breaks, when my phone's dead. So, it'll be slow.
The other reason that I stopped working on fanfiction is that everything turned to shit for me. That's one thing that hasn't changed except for getting worse. I don't know. I'll survive, that's what I always do. I'll probably lose a lot of myself. Is being alive worth that?
I'll leave questions like that for later. You probably want to read.
Oh, one last thing- I actually wrote the first part of this two years ago. If you can tell where I stopped and started again, good eye.
Chapter Five
The Doctor
The Doctor found himself staring at the console, one hand just on the edge and the other on the brakes. The strangest sense of deja vu went through his mind as he straightened up and looked at his own reflection in the glass column as the spheres inside bobbed up and down.
Big ears, small chin, no hair… He suddenly had a sense of panic. This wasn't his- That was not his face!
His panic spread and practically engulfed him when he looked down. Instead of a comforting bow tie and tweed jacket, there was a leather jacket with a tee shirt. This was all wrong; horribly wrong-
"Doctor?" Someone called; a familiar voice. He sighed in relief as he turned around to see Amy, have her explain everything, and get back to having fun.
But it wasn't Amy. It wasn't even Rory with a high pitched voice.
"Rose?" He asked quietly, his voice no higher than a whisper. Every molecule of his being screamed at him; this wasn't right. This just was so wrong, but how-?
She giggled softly as she came up to him. "Something wrong, Doctor? You have a confused look on your face."
"I, uh…" He started as he stared at her. His brain seemed to stop as he tried to figure out what next to say about the situation at hand, but as soon as the uh faded on his tongue, it was all gone. The feeling of time flipping on it's head, the feeling of something wrong… It was all gone in a second. He tried to hold onto it, but it was out of his grasp before he could even blink.
"Are you okay?" Rose asked, concerned. He grinned widely at her. Ah, Rose… She cared about him, didn't she?
"I'm fine, Rose. Just a little brain fart. Where do you want to go?" He asked, smiling at her slight giggle. The wrong feeling appeared again, but was gone just as fast as the first time.
Rose bit her lip as she thought about where she wanted to go. With a wide smile matching his own, she told him her choice. "Barcelona."
The Ponds
It felt like they were in the small room for a long time. It honestly didn't take long at all for the two of them to run out of things to talk about. It's hard to tell time in an empty closet. They, the aliens, did turn off the light when it seemed to be night, though they must not have slept long.
Amy always fell asleep in the dark, but he couldn't. Rory stayed awake, gently running his hand through Amy's hair to ground himself as he stared at the wall. It only felt like two hours to him, though it could have been longer- Amy sore she got a full night's sleep. He did nap, a little. Rory only felt safe if Amy was awake, just in case the aliens opened the door to talk to them. They did a few times, just to shove food in. Whatever it was, it tasted like rice and looked like grey potatoes. Amy told him it wasn't too bad, but he had trouble choking down the tasteless food. He ate what he could before giving the rest to Amy. They didn't need after and they didn't need to go to the bathroom. Rory didn't even feel hungry. It was like time just stopped in their bodies.
After about a week, or seven sleep cycles, the aliens came back. Without even saying anything, the aliens grabbed the two and pulled them roughly out of the room.. "Hey!" Rory exclaimed , not liking being handled like that. He hated seeing them handle Amy that way, but the Scottish woman complaining enough for the both of them. She swore left and right before yelling for the Doctor.
The alien leader from before chuckled as he turned the corner and looked at Amy with a slight sneer on his face. "You want to see your Doctor?" He asked. Amy didn't answer, she just tried to pull away from the two holding her. "We will take you to him. Go on, then."
Rory would have sworn that he heard the guy try to do an evil laugh. It didn't work and sounded more like an electronic snort.
"Rory, what if they hurt him? What do we do?" She asked as they were led down a hall. "We need to get out of here and find the TARDIS. River too."
"If she's even here." He said, interrupting her. "She could just be back at Stormcage. None of that was real, Amy."
"And what if some of it was real? We're real and the Doctor's real, who's to say that River isn't hidden somewhere around here?" Amy pointed out as they turned around a corner.
"Well, it's not like we can go and look for her." Rory replied. There was a single door at the end of the hallway. Both of them couldn't help but drag their feet as they approached whatever was through that door sent a sense of dread through him, and he was pretty sure that they were just going to kill the two as the door opened and they were shoved through. Amy lost her footing and fell forward, pulling Rory down with her.
He groaned and looked up, ready to see guns in his face. The room was surprisingly empty, except for one thing standing in the corner, facing away from them.
Amy scrambled to her feet and Rory followed, far less graceful. "Doctor?" She asked, and the figure turned to face them. Amy giggled and ran forward while Rory stood and stared.
It was the Doctor, or at least a very convincing duplicate. Everything was the same as Amy's raggedy man, except for a few physical differences.
The man before him wore plan, off white pajama trousers and a plain white tee. He didn't even have shoes on, he just stood barefoot against the cold tile floor.
Amy quickly pulled the Doctor into a strong hug, burying her head into his chest. "Doctor! I've been so worried! Are you okay? We need to-" Amy stopped and looked up at the Time Lord when he failed to answer, or even react. "Doctor?"
Again, he didn't answer and Amy took a step back as Rory took a step forward and reached for Amy. The man before them just watched the two as Amy tugged at Rory's arm. "Doctor, can you understand me?" Rory asked, slowly and cautiously. He didn't want to scare the man in front of them, just in case. He never really thought that the Doctor was dangerous, just that the man got into dangerous situations. The skinny, floppy haired man before him looked like he couldn't harm a fly, especially without a weapon.
The man didn't answer, he simply tilted his head, studying the two. Rory cleared his throat and swallowed, trying to rid the sudden dry feeling in his throat. It was unnerving, the way the Doctor stared at them, trying to figure them out. Like they were just an obstacle put in his way. There was no recognition in his old friend's eyes.
"Rory, what did they do to him?" Amy asked, whispering harshly into her husband's ear.
"I don't know."
One last, last thing.
Reviews make me want to continue…
And frankly, they make me feel like writing is worth my time.
