Chapter 7
Shepard's return
Well guys time to get back to work. I had no idea that it was Yugioh's twentieth this year. But in honor of it... Let's kick it up!

Jaden was in the infirmary looking over Tanya as Yubel and Alexis walked up next to him.
"Is she going to be alright?" Alexis asked.
"Tanya's a fighter. She'll be fine." Jaden said before reaching in to his deck box. "I'm more worried about what she was defending." He said before holding up Uria.
"So, do you think that this Sartorius character has Hamon and Raviel to himself?" Yubel asked.
"No. Remember, the Sacred Beasts are made of dark energy. The light of Destruction is using Sartorius as it's avatar and it does not mix well with pure darkness. If I were betting man, I'd say that some of the corrupted duelists have hold of them." Jaden guessed.
"Maybe Chazz and Bastian." Alexis said. Guessing that with them being two of the best duelists on the island, they would be the obvious candidates.
Sudenly, the three of them heard a groaning noise and turned to see Tanya waking up before she shot up and grabbed her shoulder after moving to fast.
"Whoa. Easy there." Jaden said as he placed a comforting hand on Tanya's other shoulder to calm her down.
"Jaden?" She asked before remembering that she had found him before passing out. "The Sacred Beasts?" She asked as Jaden showed her Uria.
"The others are still missing. But you got this one to me just fine." Jaden said as he eased Tanya down.
"Good." She sighed in relief when suddenly the PA system came on.
"Attention all students of Duel Academy. Please report to the auditorium immediately." Crowler's voice came over the PA system.
"Wonder what's it's about." Alexis said.
"Don't know. But we'd better find out." Jaden said.
"I'll come with you. Tanya said. before cringing in pain once again."
"No. You just wait here. We'll be back soon." Jaden said in a comforting voice before he, Yubel and Alexis left the room.
A few minutes later, Jaden and the girls met up with Cyrus and Hassleberry.
"Hey guys. Any Idea why Crowler called the rally?" Jaden asked.
"Not a clue." Cyrus asked before they got their aswner as they looked down at the stage to see that rather than Crowler walking to the podium. But Councilor Shepard, back from his leave of absence.
"Oh thank the gods. Now we don't have to deal with Bonaparte being the Vice Chancellor." Jaden said, feeling happy about the amount of money he no longer had to use spend headache pills.
"Yeah. But it was kind of fun to watch him squirm." Yubel said with a giggle as she and Jaden shared a smirk.
"Hello everyone. First of all, I would like to say how happy I am to be back." Shepard said with a kind smile on his face as he looked over the auditorium until he looked at those who had joined the Society of Light. "Now as for the reasons that you have all been called here." He said before the golden images of the letters G and X came up on a screen behind them. "I am here to announce the GX tournament! This tournament will bring together duelists from the other Duel academies as well several professional Duelists. The winner of this tournament will be allowed the chance of a life time. A Duel with one of the three best Duelists in the world. Seto Kaiba, Joey Wheeler, or Yugi Moto!" Shepard called out as everyone began to cheer as Jaden began to shake with anticipation at the prospect of dueling one of the three greatest Duelists in the world.
"Details for the tournament's rules will be given soon. In the meantime prepare your Decks and get ready for the Duels of of your lives." Shepard said before he turned to leave.
Jaden and the others began to get up when they were left. But were soon met by Fonda.
"Ms Fontain." Alexis greeted.
"The Chancellor needs to see all of you." Fonda said before leading Jaden and the others to Shepard's office.
"Jaden. Good to see you again." Shepard said as he shook Jaden's hand.
"Good to see you too, sir." Jaden said.
"So, Crowler tells me that you're rebuilding the Slifer Dorm as the 'Black Dorm'." Shepard said, getting a nod from Jaden.
"Hey, the Slifer students need a better dorm." He said trying to play it off.
"I see." Shepard said skeptically before he went over to his computer. "Well anyway, I figure that with all the dorms being of the same quality of living, we should remove the hierarchy of the dorms." Shepard said.
"Would be nice if there wasn't continued aggression between the 'Slifer Slackers' and 'Blue Bastards'." Alexis said.
"Wait. What's the derogatory term for Ra Yellows?" Syrus asked.
"Nothing. Ra's are pretty much so middle of the rode that nobody cares." Alexis said gaining a shrug from the others.
"Anyway, we'd better get back to the Dorm." Jaden said before he began to leave.
"One more thing before you go." Shepard said getting Jaden's attention. "We have a new honor student coming to the academy and she requested to be put in the Red or rather, the Black dorm." He said.
"When will she get here?" Jaden asked.
"This afternoon." Shepard replied.
"She'll be welcomed. I'll have a blazer ready for her." Jaden said gaining a nod from Shepard before he and the others left the room.
A few hours later at the rec room:
Syrus was watching a duel on the TV with a worried look on his face.
"Hey, Sy. What's wrong?" Jaden asked as he jumped over the back of the couch and landed next to Syrus before he looked at the TV to see Zane Truesdale wearing a Black coat and standing next to a large menacing looking black and bronze metal dragon.
"It's Zane. Something's wrong with him." Syrus said as Jaden focused in on Zane to see a dark aura coming off both him and his dragon. "He used to respect all of his monsters. But now, he seems obsessed with that 'Cyberdark Dragon' of his." He said
"Looks like he's embraced the shadows. But he clearly can't channel it yet." Jaden surmised as Syrus began worry even more.
"I wish there was something I can do." Syrus said as his feeling of inadequacy began to surface again.
"Well. There's only one thing to do then." Jaden said before he stood up.
"What's that?" Syrus asked as Jaden placed his hands together as dark energy apeared around him before he pulled his hands apart and a series of cards appeared in the air.
"You have to do what Zane is having trouble doing to snap him out of this." Jaden said as he handed the cards to Syrus. "I'm going to teach you how to channel the power of darkness." He said before he lead Syrus outside for a practice Duel.
About half an hour later, Jaden and Syrus deactivated their Duel Disks and Jaden's Neos along with what looked like a Dragon made out of vehicles.
"These new cards are incredible." Syrus said as he looked at his deck.
"And you were pretty good for your first time using them. But remember, the cards are only half of what you need." Jaden said.
"I know. It's going to take all the will power I can muster to beat Zane. But I know I can do it." Syrus said with determination in his eyes as he and Jaden fist bumped.
Just then, Alexis came out of the back door.
"Hey, guys. The new honor student is here." She said before leading them in to the rec room. Upon seeing the honor student all Jaden could do was smirk.
"I had a feeling you were the one that Shepard was talking about." He smiled before saying "It's goo to see you Blair."
"Jaden!" Blair shouted before glomping Jaden who could only laugh in response.
"It's good to see you too, Blair." Jaden said while rubbing the back of head before he put his hand on Blairs shoulder and gently moved her back. "Alright, let's pick you out a uniform." He said as he walked Blair over to the couch to pick from a series of shirts and Blazers for what her uniform would be.
