Haddock was in shock. How the hell had Magnus and her minions found him? No one knew where he had gone. He did not trust any of those underneath him. He ran his circus with an iron fist and had no confidants. He had slaves and leeches that flocked to his power because they had none of their own. Fear ruled them because he had established a long time ago that challenges to his authority would not be tolerated.

He had to have a leak somewhere, but who? His mind rapidly raced as he followed after the young man who had scooped up Lilith. There was something about the young man that Haddock could not ignore. His instincts were never wrong about people and that man, he had to keep that man away from Lilith.

His rage rose as he thought of his pet's earlier defiance. Not wanting to take the souls and then vomiting again. That ploy would stop. He would teach her that feigning sickness would not spare her from doing as she had been commanded. He was nearing the first floor. He would recover what was his and then, once he got Lilith back to the circus, he would begin her re-education. No one told him, no. No one.

The ding of the elevator stopping at the first floor startled Will. He bolted out the doors and raced for Magnus, Kate and Henry.

"We gotta go!" he yelled.

There was a huge boom and the floor shook. Will stumbled and spared a quick glance over his shoulder. He wished he hadn't. Haddock was charging them at superhuman speed, his eyes glowing red.

"Shit!" Will increased his speed.

"Run, Will!" screamed Kate.

What the hell did she think he was doing? He made it to his friends and they hurried toward the exit doors.

Haddock abruptly stopped and shouted something that Will couldn't understand.

Suddenly, the girl's eyes flew open, and, for a split second, Will saw sorrow in her gaze before her mouth opened and she let out a piercing, ear shattering note. Even though he had in the special ear plugs, Will gasped, briefly disoriented by the unholy sound and stumbled to one knee.

He heard the exploding glass of the lights and the windows of the rooms. He slumped over the girl trying to protect her from the falling glass.

"I'm sorry."

Will turned his head toward the girl. Her good eye was wide in fear. He was airborne before he could process what was going on and pain slammed through his body and he blacked out.

Haddock smirked in satisfaction as the young man hit a wall, slid to the floor and lay unmoving. He grabbed Lilith and, with a burst of speed, left the hospital. He made it to the car without Magnus or her people pursuing. He opened the door, shoved the now unconscious Lilith in and then got in himself. He slammed the truck in gear and roared out of the parking.

He kept watch for fifteen minutes before relaxing. No pursuit. No doubt Magnus was worried about her people. That was the difference between him and her. He didn't care. Everyone was expendable.

He glanced over at Lilith. Her eye was swollen shut and he could see the bruises on her body. He grinned. He looked forward to decorated her body some more. It would be a nice stress relief for him. Satisfied that all was right, he returned his attention to driving.

Magnus stood outside the van and tried to calm herself down. Everyone in the hospital had eventually woken up and none of them had any memory of the events prior to their sleep. She would add that to the list of the girl's powers.

She was extremely angry at Haddock for nearly killing Will. The rest of them had only suffered cuts and minor bruises. Will had a mild concussion and a nasty bruise near his spine. She would check it out at Sanctuary.

"Doc?"

Still fuming, she climbed in the van. The drive back home was a quiet one. They did not like losing to the likes of Haddock but they hadn't know his powers and that had almost cost them Will's life. She would not go in blind again.

They arrived at Sanctuary and with the help of the Big Guy, carried Will to the infirmary for some testing.

"Magnus, I'll be alright," Will stated, though the paleness of skin worried her.

"I know you're saying that to try to calm me but this is my fault. I've worked with intel from Mama Buntah before but never had this much difficulty. This is my fault and I will fix this."

Magnus stilled when Will's hand gripped hers. She glanced down at him.

"Magnus, it is NOT your fault. I don't blame you. This is all part of the job, right? This isn't the first time we've worked with half-baked information. We need Mama Buntah to tell us more about Haddock. Until she does, we can't help the girl. I'm sure the girl wants to be free, but we have to find the key to breaking that man's hold on her."

Magnus smiled sadly. Will was always level-headed and that was one of the many reasons why she had gone to great lengths to have him on her team.

"I need to make another trip to the circus to get the information from Mama Buntah."

"Magnus, Haddock knows what we look like. I don't see how we are going to get in."

"He doesn't know all of us."

Will frowned. "Who else can we send?"

"Me."

Will turned and stared at the Big Guy. Of course! Haddock didn't know the other member of the Sanctuary team.

"It might work," he mumbled and yawned. "Magnus?"

"It's a light sedative, Will as well as pain meds. You need the rest. I'll bring you up to speed. We won't be moving until we are certain."

"Good." His eyes drifted closed.

Magnus patted his hand and she and the Big Guy left the room. Magnus had much to think about. She would save the girl, no matter what, and take down Haddock.
