In honor of Valentine's Day here is a chapter full of fluff!

Kurama had managed to sneak into Kagome's room that night after everyone had gone off to bed. They had to be careful not to let the others know. Kuwabara and Yusuke were overprotective as they looked over Kagome like a younger sister. Hiei already knew but didn't intervene, he trusted Kurama. Plus his sense of smell told him nothing more than sleeping was actually happening.

She was already asleep but Kurama curled up next to her anyway. Kagome had shared with him once didn't like to be alone. Especially at night when it was dark out, it reminded her too much of the jewel. So whenever he could Kurama stayed the night with her simply holding her close helping to keep her nightmares away.

The next morning Kagome woke to find him already gone. Placed on the pillow next to her was a single rose with a short note attached.

I've prepared a hot bath for you. Love Kurama.

Kagome smiled as she got her things ready for her bath. She had been stressed out lately about her dwindling powers. A warm bath would be just what she needed. Though she hadn't said anything Kurama must have noticed, Kagome loved how attentive and caring he was.

Having left Kagome, Kurama quickly went in search of Yukina. He had special plans for today and was hoping to enlist the young ice demons help. It was no surprise that he found her in the kitchen getting breakfast started.

"Yukina? I was hoping you could help me."

Kagome happily sat down for breakfast. Her smile dropped a little as she found Kurama not there. Yukina was quick to distract her however.

"Kagome, come out shopping with me today."

Kagome looked up not sure if she should accept the invitation or not. She was still very nervous about leaving the shrine.

"I don't know…"

"Please, you haven't ever left the shrine and I really don't want to go alone."

"I shouldn't, I have to stay if something were to happen to the jewel…."

Genki quickly interrupted her also in on what the fox was up to today. "Your barrier is still in place and I may be old but I'm still strong enough protection for the jewel."

"Of course you are Genki I didn't mean to be rude." Kagome quickly apologized.

"Well if you mean that then go out with Yukina today. It would do you good to relax." Genki told her with an air of finality. Her tone telling Kagome that she would be insulted if she did otherwise.

Kagome was able to relax faster than she thought she would with Yukina dragging her from one store to the next. She was able to forget about the jewel, and the fact that her powers weren't working right. The two ran into Kekio and Shizru and Yukina introduced them as the other girls joined in the shopping fun.

Kagome stopped to look at a large display a small frown etched on her face.

"Kagome?" Shizru asked the younger girl.

"It's February?" Kagome asked looking at the red candy hearts all over the display. She stopped keeping track of time. It had become meaningless to her in the void and she had never bothered to ask the date when she started living at Genkis.

"Yeah, today's Valentine's day." Keiko told her. Yukina seemed to catch on to what was wrong before the other two did. After all while Keiko and Shizru knew about Kagome they were only given a quick summery by Kuwabara and Yusuke.

"Kagome, you want to go find something for Kurama next." She asked sweetly.

Kagome smiled again and nodded to Yukina. "Yes! Can you help he find something he would like."

"We could stop by Victoria's secret next." Shizru teased causing Kagome to blush.

The two returned in the late that evening to the shrine Yukina made a weak excuse about having forgot something at the grocery store and left again. Kagome shrugged it off and went to put her new things away. She was glad that Genki and Yukina insisted on her going out today she had truly enjoyed herself.

Leaving her room she found a trail of roses magically appearing. No doubt Kurama had used his fox magic to make this happen Kagome followed them picking up the flowers as she went. When Kagome reached the garden her eyes grew wide. Lights were strung around creating a soft glow. Her favorite flowers where in bloom even though they were currently out of season. Again no doubt thanks to Kurama's fox magic. There was a small circular table set up with a candle lit dinner.

"So this is why I haven't seen you all day." Kagome smiled at Kurama.

Kurama grinned back at her before crossing the distance between then and giving her a kiss.

"Happy Valentine's day." He told her when they broke apart.

"Happy Valentine's day." Kagome repeated stealing another kiss.
