Naruto stood there in shock 'my parents, I'm finally going to know who they are' he looked at his team who were smiling encouragingly at him. The Hokage carried on speaking "Naruto I am sorry that I have not told you before now however you parents held a lot of enemies and after they died I was worried they would come after you therefore I made it an S classed secret" he paused and looked at Naruto who seemed sad at being reminded his parents died the night he was born. "I am also sorry that I have not done more for you, the council and the elders in their short-sightedness have prevented me and other clan heads from helping you, please accept my apology" Naruto replied "that's ok old man I knew you cared and that was enough" he smiled at the Hokage who looked relieved he carried on, "I'll show those old council members, don't worry I'm going to be Hokage!" Everyone smiled at this and Kakashi chuckled being reminded of his old sensei.
The Hokage coughed getting everyone's attention, "Naruto your mother was Kushina Uzumaki", the Hokage paused to let this new information sink in with Naruto. He cleared his throat and continued, "She was an amazing ninja who came from Uzu, the land of Whirlpools. Unfortunately after your mother arrived here Whirlpool's hidden village was wiped out as well as your mother's family." He looked at Naruto sadly and continued, " Your father was the fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze." As soon as this was said Naruto looked up in shock at the Hokage, 'My dad was the fourth Hokage! Oh my god', he then looked around at his teammates who looked equally as shocked however when he looked at his sensei there was sadness. "Sensei, what is the matter?" Kakashi looked at Naruto, "I was your fathers student Naruto, I knew about you and I should have helped you more. I was a wreck at the time he died, my own father had committed suicide, my teammates had died and I lost the only other family I knew." When Kakashi had finished Naruto was looking down and thinking, he then looked up and said, "I forgive you sensei, you here now and that is what matters." Kakashi looked relieved and promised himself to help Naruto and his team as best he could to atone.
The Hokage then spoke up, "Naruto that was very good of you I am proud", Naruto's smile grew, Hinata and Shikamaru stood next to him and placed their hands on his shoulders making the smile almost as wide as his face. "Naruto, you should also be aware you also have a godmother and a godfather", the Hokage put his hand up to stop Naruto from talking. "They are the sages Jirayia and Tsunade, now before you judge I have been keeping them appraised of you, your growth and what has been happening. Like Kakashi however they had already lost a lot and when that night in October happened they struggled to get past it. To Jirayia, Minato was like a son, he had already lost his best friend and teammate as he became a traitor and a previous team of his was killed. He is also our spymaster and travels around the world helping us gain information on that helps to protect this village." The Hokage paused and Naruto spoke, "Wow, so not only was my father the fourth Hokage but I have godparents! I guess I can understand Jirayia but what about Tsunade?" At this quesiton the Hokage looked down in thought about what to say next and how to say it. "Naruto, Tsunade like the others lost people, her grandfather and grand uncle were the first and second Hokage therefore a distant relation of yours as the first married Mito Uzumaki. However she lost both her little brother and fiance in the wars both of whom wanted to be Hokage after your mother died who she viewed as a little sister, she took Shizune, her fiance's little sister as an apprentice and left. She made sure to contact me to keep check on you, they both did but there was too much raw pain for them."
The Hokage stopped there and looked at Naruto who was deep in thought, both Hinata and Shikamaru looked at him worriedly. Naruto looked up with tears streaming down his face but there was a smile. Hinata said, "Are you okay Naruto?" Naruto turned to her, "I am Hinata, I have family somewhere and I know where I came from." Naruto's smile widens, 'I have a family! I have living family! I am going to make my parents proud'.
"Can I contact my godparents?" Naruto asked the Hokage, "of course Naruto, it might also be interesting for you to know that both your father and mother were masters of fuinjutsu in fact it is what the Uzumaki's were known for. In addition I cannot give you your whole inheritance such as your parent's house but I can give you their jutsu scrolls." The Hokage handed these scrolls over to Naruto who held them like they would disappear any moment. "Now if you will excuse me, I have some tedious meetings to go to" The Hokage said smiling with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eye. Team 7 said their goodbyes and left the office, as they were leaving Kakashi told them, "Okay team meet me at the Konoha shinobi library in ten minutes, and Naruto bring the scrolls" with that said he crossed his fingers and shushined away. Naruto looked at Hinata and Shikmaru, "What was that all about?" Hinata shook her head ans shrugged her shoulders while Shikamaru said, "Who knows, it's all troublesome either way." With that said they started to walk towards the library,
What they did not know was that while they were walking Kakashi had gone back to the Hokage office. "Is there something I can help you with Kakashi?" The Hokage said while looking over some paperwork ready for his meeting. "Yes, I am taking y team to the library to research paths and ideas for training." Before he could say any more the Hokage put his hand up to silence him, got out a pen and wrote something down on a piece of paper. "Here you go, a note allowing Naruto to be in the library and borrow whtever scrolls he may need. Any problems and direct them to me" "Thank you Hokage".
10 minutes later…
Shikamaru, HInata and Naruto were waiting outside the library, "Is he really late for everything?" Naruto exclaimed tired of wiaitng outside the library, "It does look like it Naurto" Hinata said from her place sitting on the floor next to Naruto. Shikamaru who was standing on the other side of Naruto said, "Well it is troublesome but knowing Kakashi t will be worth it." The others nodded their head in agreement. "Hello there my students" Kakashi said when he popped up out of nowhere making Naruto jump. "Sensei, what was that for?" as he put his hand on his chest to steady his heart, Shikamaru and Hinata were chuckling lightly. "That Naruto was you needing to me more alert of your surroundings" Kakashi answered with a smile evident under his mask, "Ok, everyone inside the library." Once inside the library, Kakashi lead them to a isolated table at the back, once there he instructed them all to sit down. "Ok now you will stay here for the rest of the afternoon researching different jutsu's and specialities", "Why Kakashi sensei?" Hinata said. "Simple Hinata I want to train you three properly, part of that is knowing where you want to go and have a goal for training. You three are going to find both primary and secondary specialties, ideas for taijutsu and a plan of where you want to end up. Work together with this, help each other, remember you are a team and you need work as one. Use your strengths to help with each other's weaknesses. See you soon students" and with that Kakashi left.
"Well I guess we better get to it but where to start?" Naruto said, "How about fuinjutsu for you Naruto, the Hokage did say that the Uzumaki's were specialists in it", "good idea Hinaata" Naurto said, "What about you Shikamaru?" Naurto said, "I am thinking maybe a weapon? You Hinata?" Hinata looked unsre for a minute but took a deep breath and gathered her courage, "I am thinking medical." Naruto and Shikamaru smiled at her that made her feel better. "OK how about one hour looking through scrolls and meet back here?" Shikamaru said, looking at both Hinata and Naruto who nodded and smiled. They got up and started looking through the scrolls.
