Hi, sorry about the long wait but I had a block on where I want the story to go
When it opened she looked up at Ino, "Hinata!" Ino looked at her with sad eyes and rushed her inside giving her a hug as well. "Mrs Nara!" Yoshino came rushing out of the other room and Ino shout, stopping with a look of shock when she saw Hinata crying and covered in mud. "Oh my, Hinata, what happened?" Hinata just looked at her while crying silently, at this Yoshino took a deep breath, "ok, don't worry we will look after you, Ino help me get Hinata upstairs and clean her up. I'm sure she doesn't want others especially her teammates seeing her like this." At this Hinata calmed down a bit and went upstairs with Yoshino and Ino.
As they were cleaning her up, Hinata felt more comfortable and stopped crying, "what happened Hinata?" Ino asked again, while giving her a hug, "Can I tell you all together?", "We do have Inoichi, Chouza and Chouji round as well" Hinata took a deep breath, "that is ok they will find out anyway." Ino then decided to take Hinata's mind off things, "You know Hinata you have a great team. I was just saying to Shikamaru how Sasuke is not the same person I thought he was. Do you know he actually walks off and trains on his own, he said that Chouji and I are pathetic and he doesn't want to lower himself to our level of training. I mean what a jerk! Just because he is cute doesn't mean he can act like that" Hinata giggled at this which made Ino smile.
Ino kept chatting about nonsense as they made their way downstairs, which Hinata was grateful for as it helped keep her mind off the last couple of hours. As they got into the living room she was bombarded with questions from everyone, with Naruto's being the loudest shouting, "HINATA! What are you doing here?" At all the attention Hinata started to shake a bit, which Ino noticed, "QUIET!" With her shout everyone stopped talking, Ino took charge, "Hinata is going to explain what has happened and no one is to interrupt her until she is done, got it?" Everyone nodded their heads, especially Naruto who she was eyeing in particular. With that done she nodded to Hinata, who started told them everything.
When she was finished she saw several different reactions, anger in Yoshino's, Ino's, Naruto's and Shikamaru's faces. Sadness in Chouji's and Chouza's and concern in Shikaku's and Inoichi's. Naruto was the first one to speak, "Hinata don't worry we are all here for you, just like how you were all there for me" A gentle smile on his face showed he meant what he said and Shikamaru agreed with him, nodding his head and offering a smile of his own. "Would you like to stay with us as well?" Shikaku offered Hinata who smiled at the offer. However, before she could answer Ino spoke up, "Hinata, would you like to stay me and my family?" Inoichi nodded and smiled at her.
Ino continued, "I know we don't know each other well but I would like to, spending time with you tonight has made me realise I miss having a best friend and I gather you have not really had one either so maybe we could be each other's?" Hinata thought about this a lot, 'well I would like to stay with Naruto and Shikamaru but Ino is right I have never had a best friend maybe it would be nice but am I brave enough?' Before she could say her answer, "Hinata it's ok if you want we will all still be here for you besides you could have your little adventure" Naruto said with an encouraging smile, giving Hinata the courage to say, "If it is ok Ino, I would like to stay with you." Ino smiled and sat next to Hinata and started talking about clothes and flowers which lead to Naruto and Chouji to talk about ramen being the best food in the world while Shikamaru had a little nap. At the end of the night Hinata went with Ino and her dad while Chouza went home alone as Chouji asked to stay with Naruto and Shikamaru for a sleepover.
Ino's mother had welcomed Hinata with open arms and given her some of Ino's old clothes for the night, saying that they will go shopping for more in the morning before training. Hinata now found herself lying on a spare mattress on Ino's floor thinking, when she took a deep breath and asked Ino a question, wanting to know more about her new friend, "Ino?", "yes Hina?" Hinata paused at the nickname but smiled softly deciding that she liked it, "What is your favourite colour?" Ino smiled understanding what Hinata was doing and answered "purple, what about you?" "Mine would be light blue."
This went on for a bit until Ino asked, "Hinata, how is your training going?" "It's going well, Kakashi sensei sent to the library to do research and choose what we wanted to learn" and so she told Ino about her elemental affinity, taijutsu ideas, medic jutsu and her teammates plans. "what about you Ino?" "well at the minute we are doing chakra exercises and sparring as I think Asuma sensei is thinking about it but Sasuke goes off and trains on his own anyway no matter sensei says about teamwork. I think I will talk to sensei my training though, hearing you say that has got me thinking about what I want to learn" "What is that?" "Well I think like you medic jutsu interests me but I want to focus more on poison, maybe elemental jutsu and genjutsu" Hinata smiled at her "Sounds like a plan" "now that is decided what about you and Naruto?" Hinata blushed as Ino laughed.
Meanwhile at Shikamaru's house...
