Her Past
Chapter Nine
Frantic
Soul woke up on the floor and looked around. He held his pounding head and stood up. He ran into the apartment and looked in every single room. He then fell to his knees. She was gone. They took her. He didn't protect her. "I am the shittiest weapon partner in the world," he mumbled. He stood back up and sat on her bed. Pulling out his phone, he called Black Star.
"Soul! Dude! What's going on? You ready for another ass whoopin' in basketball?" the blue haired guy's obnoxious voice rang in Soul's ear. Soul didn't reply for a couple of minutes. "You there, Soul?"
"I need the gang's help."
"Why? What's wrong?"
"They took Maka."
oOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
They all met in Soul and Maka's livng room there was quiet for a couple of minutes as they let the situation set in. They felt the absence of the blonde, knowing that in this kind of event Maka would have already taken the reigns and started a plan.
"Do you know where they took her?" Tsubaki's thoughtful voice cut through the silence.
Soul shook his still aching head. "She never told me. She said it wasn't far from the park which is where the court is now. She never said which direction, though."
"Would Spirit know?" Liz asked.
He shook his head again. "That idiot didn't even know about this till now."
"That man worries me sometimes," she stated.
"How about my father?" Kid asked.
"I don't know. I didn't get to hear the conversation with him. He knew about the mission she went on originally, but that's all I know."
"Well, tell us what happened and we'll figure something out," Tsubaki suggested.
Soul took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I woke up to Maka screaming my name and ran out of the room. The two men from before were carrying her out the door. She was fighting against them but they were twice her size. I managed to get ahold of one of the guys and get the advantaged, but she screamed my name again as he headed out the door. When I looked to for her, the man knocked me out." He stood up suddenly frustrated and began pacing. "I'm supposed to protect her! She's my meister, but how can I protect her if I can't do anything without her?! HOW?"
Tsubaki stood up and stopped his pacing by putting her hand on his shoulder. "I understand. It's so frustrating to know our true strength only comes when we're with them. But you tried Soul, Maka knows that."
"How does she know that? She couldn't see anything. She was being carried off."
"Because she knows you. She trusts you to be her partner and to be there for each other," she replied.
"Maka's not stupid. She knows you'd fight for her. And she's tough. She'll be able to handle those men. She did before, didn't she?" Black Star finally piped in.
"I think we should speak with my father about this. I don't think we can do this without their help."
They all looked at Kid and nodded. "Should we get Stein and Spirit as well?" Liz asked.
"I believe so. We went to Stein for help originally," Soul replied.
"Maka is Spirit's daughter. He needs to know," Tsubaki asked.
"Alright, let's go."
I know this chapter doesn't really go anywhere sorry. But it is leading up to something I promise. I just had to get the information to the gang first. I'll try to get to the good stuff quickly.
