Her Past
Chapter Thirteen
The Return
Everyone looked in the direction the voice came from and a couple of gasps slipped out. A woman who had vanished almost eight years ago stood in the doorway of the room.
"Kami?" Spirit asked, unsure of his own eyes.
The woman rolled her eyes. Her pale blonde hair and green eyes makes her look so much like an older version of Maka. "Are you blind now too, Spirit? Yes, it's me."
"Nice to see you again, Kami. Long time," Lord Death greeted.
"Lord Death," she greeted with a nod.
"You know where Maka is?" Stein asked, bring them back to the problem at hand.
Kami nodded and looked behind her down at the black cat wearing a witch styled hat. "This cat right here says that she found her."
Every head in the room followed the woman's gaze down to Blair. They watched as she changed into a human and gave them a small wave.
Soul jumped to his feet. "Where is she, Blair?" he asked determined.
"Jeez, so pushy. Not even a hello for your dear kitty?"
"I am not in the mood for you antics right now. Tell us where she is?" Soul said getting annoyed.
"Is something wrong? What was she doing in a dark room anyways?" the cat girl asked, genuinely confused.
Soul collapsed on the couch, exasperated at not getting an answer from the girl.
"Blair, honey," Tsubaki said, "Maka's been kidnapped. We need your help to get her back."
"What?! When did this happen?" the purple haired girl asked.
"This morning."
"Sheesh, why am I always the last to know?"
"Where did you find Kami?" Stein asked the cat girl.
"Well, was walking around Maka and Soul's place trying to find Soul to see if there was something going on that I wasn't invited in on when I saw her. I thought it was Maka and confused for a minute. She asked if I knew Maka and I told her about what happened and that's how we ended up here."
"Where was she Blair?" Lord Death asked.
"Well it's hard to say. I was looking for the fish guy when all of a sudden I hear Maka's voice coming from a hole in the ground."
That got a lot of confused looks from everyone.
"What kind of hole in the ground?" Stein inquired.
"I don't know. A hole. A circle leading down into the ground. I was next to a random building in town, but it didn't seem like it would have connected to it," Blair said with a shrug.
"Charles is clever. He has her lock away somewhere that would be hard to access. That hole could possibly one a vent or form of airway," Kami suggested.
"Then let's go get her!" Black Star shouted standing up prepared for a fight. "We know where she is now, we can beat some asses and save her."
Kami shook her head. "I'd advise against that. Maka has been a target of his since she was a child. He's not going to just leave her unattended. He has a large group of men at his disposal and is not afraid to use them."
"What would you suggest we do?" Lord Death asked the woman.
"We need to survey the area and see if we can find some layout of the building. We can surmise from Blair's story that Maka is in a basement of some sort." Kami looked at Lord Death and continued, "I know everyone wants to get her back as soon as possible, but we have to strategize this."
"What do you suggest?" Tsubaki asked.
"We go just before sunrise to see what we have in store for us, devise a plan, and go save my daughter."
