Chapter 11: Surprise guests and awkward moments

Its been two months since school started, and Tori felt she was finally getting the hang of things around Robert Mitchells school of arts. She was doing much better in her dance class (even though sometimes Ms Tracy will give her a hard time about a pacific dance move), acting class was awesome and they were in the middle of rehearsing Rent, which Tori got the part of Mimi Marquez after beating out Charla who had a evil look on her face, and most of all singing and songwriting class just happens to be her favorite. Songwriting wasn't Tori strong suit because that was always Andre's thing, but since being here at this school and having awesome teacher Mr Wright, songwriting has been becoming pretty easy.

"Ok class" Mr Wright getting their attention, "We have a special guest who's gonna help you with your songwriting today."

Tori who was sitting in the back of the class straighten up in her chair to see who was gonna walk right thru the door. Just then a very handsome guy with hazel green eyes and sandy curly hair walked in. That moment Tori recognized him as the recorder producer Seth summers, and judging by the way he looked at her, he remembers her too. It was two months ago when Seth gave Tori his business card telling her to call him, and she really was going to, but dealing with Beck and his drama made her forget all about it. Hopefully Tori didn't miss her chance to maybe work with him one day by not calling him.

"As a lot of you might know this is Seth Summers" Mr Right introducing him, "He a producer and songwriter for one of the most popular labels Strontium Records, which is here in New York. Seth you have the floor."

After about ten minutes telling the class about himself and explaining the art of writing, Seth challenged the class to come up with some lyrics with fifteen minutes, and who ever had the best one will get to have one on one time with him and write a song together and possibly record or sell it. Tori was up for the challenge. It was her chance to get that time with him that she missed out on, and to prove to herself that this class helped her with her songwriting skills. Thinking at the top of her head Tori began to write. When the time was up, everyone in the class had to read or sing out their lyrics in front of the class. It finally reached Tori's turn and she stood up from her seat. While walking to the front, Tori noticed Seth was looking at her with hope in his eyes which made her believe that he was rooting for her to win this. Maybe I didn't screw up my chance to work with after all. Tori began to sing

"I told you once, "Get out my life.

I don't need ya, I'll be alright."

When she was finished, Tori looked at a grinning Seth. He must have really liked what she has written down. Mr wright, Seth, and the rest of the class applauded Tori and she walked back to her seat.

"So Seth what you you think?" Mr Wright asked him after everyone had their turn.

"I think everyone did an amazing job" Seth replied, "But the one that stood the most out to me was...Tori Vega".

Tori squealed happily while everyone once again clapped congratulating her for winning. She got her shot to work with Seth. After class Seth walked up to Tori while she was gathering her things.

"I was rooting for you" He said.

"You were?" She asked, even though she knew he was.

Seth smiled showing his pearly perfect teeth, "Yeah I was. When I watched you perform at the platinum awards, I saw nothing but raw talent. Why haven't Max signed you?"

"Kind of a long story that involves me acting out of character" Tori not really wanting to talk about it.

Max and his team tried to change everything about her from head to toe, and encouraged bad behavior. Everyone thought Tori was truly trying to act like some diva, but out of all her friends Beck was the one who noticed that Max was making her act like that.

"Well whatever the reason, its his lost. I'm just glad I actually get to see you again because I was expecting a call from you"

"I know I was gonna call you, but there was a lot going on and it slipped my mind"

"Tor this is New York ok" Seth now lecturing her. "People come here to make their dreams come true. And when someone is giving you a chance to make it happen, you have to jump at it cause it might not happen again. I watch too many talents go to waste because they're not focused on the prize. Do you understand?"

Tori nodded her head in agreement. He was right about people losing there shot because they let other things get in the way of what they really want. If she truly wanted this she can't let herself get distracted again. Seth looked at his watch checking the time.

"Alright Tori I have to go, but I want you to meet me at Strontium records at three o'clock on Thursday ok?"

"Ok" Tori said.

Seth walked to the class door and turned around to look at Tori. "And don't be late" he said leaving out.

Tori arrived back to her dorm room to tell Raven the news about her having a one on one writing session with Seth on Thursday. She opened Ra's bedroom door and got the most awkward sight.

"OMG! TORI" Raven screeched, pushing DJ naked body off of her.

Tori had just caught them two having sex. Raven threw a pillow to Dj to cover his private area while Tori stood at the door shocked with her mouth opened.

"Earth to Tori!" Raven trying to get the shock out her roomie face and she succeeded.

"Oh my gosh I'm sooo sorry I should have knocked" Tori apologizing, trying hard not to laugh at this situation.

She closed the door leaving them feeling very embarrassed as will as her, and went to her room. Tori have never caught any of her friends having sex before, not even her own parents, well she heard them a couple of times before, but never seen them in the act. Tori always suspected that Raven and Dj had sort of a thing for each other, and finding them naked together confirmed it. Trying to get the image of her friends out of her head, Tori picked up her phone and decided to call her friend that she missed the most back in California to distract her.

"What's up baby girl!"

"Hey Andre!" Tori happy to hear her friend voice. Man she misses him. "What you up too?" She asked.

"I just left the hospital from seeing my grandma" he replied.

"Oh no what's wrong?"

"They think she had a silent heart attack, but they running some tests on her"

"I'm sorry Andre, I hope she'll be ok" Tori feeling sad for her friend.

"Me too baby girl me too" Andre said. "So hows Beck?" Andre now changing the subject, "I heard about what happened between him and Jade."

Tori thought about Beck for second, "He's fine about everything now, but he was pretty heartbroken and pissed at me for a while"

Andre sighed on the phone, "Yeah I heard that too, plus its a good thing Beck isn't here in cali right now because I been seeing Jade around and she's been flaunting that new boyfriend around like its nobodies business"

"Really?" Tori not all that surprised.

"Yeah! I see them making out more than I have ever seen her and Beck do, and this guy is a little older like twenty-one"

Bitch Tori thought to herself.

"Heyyyyyyy" She hinted that she has something to tell him, and to change the topic off of Beck and Jade.

Andre laughed "I know what that means good news"

"Yep I have a one on one writing session with Seth Summers from Strontium records on Thursday"

"Shut the fridge!"

"Uh huh and we might record the song or sell it to another artist"

"Congrats Tor" Andre happy for her.

"I'm just nervous though Andre" Tori confessed.

"Why?" he asked.

"Because what if I mess up? I mean I'm good at writing but I'm not a composer like you"

"Tori you're gonna do great" Andre encouraged.

"I hope so".

What seems like forever, Tori finally got off the phone with Andre. It was good to talk to him because she haven't in a while with her being busy with school as well as him. Bout to put her phone on the charge, Tori received a text message from Beck.

Beck: Tori where are you?

Tori: I'm in my dorm room why?

Beck replied back quickly.

Beck: Because if you don't hurry up and get to rehearsal Mr Benson is threatening to replace you and give your spot as Mimi to Charla

Damn it I'm late!
