-Scar's Announcement-

Scar stood on the balcony of Pride Rock, looking over at the lionesses below. His eye was focused on one lioness in particular: Zelda. He watched as she walked amongst the lionesses, tending to some of the elderly. Over the past few weeks, he had become entranced by her. He hadn't noticed her until then, but once he did, he couldn't get her out of his mind. She was beautiful, elegant, and yet there was a fire in her eyes that he couldn't help but admire. She made him feel younger and more alive than he's felt in years. Despite being well into middle age, Scar no longer felt such upon looking at her. And after all, he always wanted to have a queen to rule by his side, a queen to bear him children of his own. It was decided, he would make the announcement he wanted. He got the attention of the lionesses, "Attention, subjects!"

The lionesses all looked up at Scar as he continued, "Today is a special day indeed, for I have decided on a queen to marry!"

The lionesses' interest was now perked by this announcement, as they waited anxiously for him to announce whom. Scar answered, "Everyone grant your applause to your new queen to be, Zelda!"

Zelda's eyes widened as the lionesses around her looked on uneasily. A million thoughts raced through her mind. Where was this coming from? Why was he choosing her of all people? What had she done to get on his radar? How could she marry him?

Her thoughts were interrupted by Scar saying, "Zelda, if you could come up here and join me."

Zelda was frozen in anxiety and uncertainty and confusion. For a moment, she was unable to move, until her mother nudged her and whispered, "You should do as he asks dear…"

Zelda nodded dumbfounded and walked up the path to join Scar, walking purely instinctively, her mind gone and her eyes got in a daze, making it seem like she was moving towards him hypnotically. When she finally got to him, she snapped out of her daze and looked at the lion, saying, "My lord, I do not understand…"

"What do you not understand my dear?" Scar asked with a smile. It was now that she noticed how he was looking at her, which she didn't appreciate. She managed to put this aside long enough to ask, "I do not understand why I have been chosen."

"Because I believe you would make a fine queen, and because I admire you very much," Scar said smiling still. Zelda nodded, quietly acknowledging to herself what it was exactly he admired about her. She continued, "My lord, I don't think I would be worthy of such a position?"

"What do you mean?" Scar asked, chuckling a bit, "If not you, who?"

Zelda shrugged, trying to find the right words to say, "I do not believe myself to be worthy of being queen. And I couldn't in good conscious take it."

"Of course you good, my dear," Scar reassured her, "Trust me, you are more fit to rule than any of the other lionesses, and I would like very much for you to rule at my side."

Zelda looked away a bit, disgusted at the prospect. She did her best to hide this as she continued, now a bit more firm and rebellious in tone, "Your highness, I believe I gave you my answer."

"But surely you must reconsider," Scar insisted, "Think of the possibilities, of what we could do-"

"My lord, my answer is no!" Zelda snapped, her tone coming out louder and more defiant than she had meant to. After all, the last thing she would ever want is to rule by his side while he continued to be the downfall of the Pride Lands, now feeling even more helpless to do anything. Her anger flushed out of her as she looked nervously at Scar, who looked at her, stunned by her reaction. He sighed and said, "Zelda…"

"Please don't…" Zelda said, turning away. She began to walk back the way she came from when she felt Scar grabbing her head from behind. Before she could protest, he spun her around and pulled her into him and kissed her. For a moment, she was too taken off guard to do anything as he kissed her dominatingly. But then she came to her senses and broke free of his grip and, acting without thinking, punched him as hard as she could. He fell back and landed hard on the rock. He at first looked stunned that she would dare to strike him. She looked down at him, now terrified upon realizing what she had done. Scar then wiped his lips and stood up, his shock turning to fury. Zelda backed away nervously, looking into his eyes and seeing a furious fiery inferno within them. She managed to turn herself around and hurriedly made her way down the path to the lionesses. As she did, she thought about what had just happened. What had she done? Scar was not a forgiving person, and did not like being told no. Worse yet, she punched him! There was no telling what he would do to her in retribution. Worse yet, what he might do instead to people she cared about. What if he decided that would be worse punishment and took it out on someone close to her? She thought this and more as she reached the other lionesses. No sooner had she done so that Scar announced, "Subjects!"

The lionesses all looked up at him nervously, seeing how furious he was. He continued, "I offered Zelda the chance to become my queen. To rule by my side, to have subjects at her feet, to have all her needs met for all time. She refused, and instead, committed an act of treason by striking her own king!"

The lionesses gasped at this. Scar had charged people as traitors for far less than that. There was no telling what he would do to Zelda now. He delivered his ultimatum, "As you all know, treason, especially high treason, is a crime punishable by death. Therefore, to Zelda, I offer you this single choice; Become my queen and rule, or become a traitor and die. You have until dawn tomorrow to decided, for at dusk tomorrow, we shall have either a wedding or an execution!"

Scar turned around and went back into the cave as all eyes fell upon Zelda, who stood there, stunned by what had happened. Once it all sank in, tears weld up in her eyes, and she fell to her knees, sobbing into her hands.

Sorry for the delay, but had some personal stuff going on. Anyways, hope y'all are liking it still, and remember to request whatever story any of you want me to do next. Whether it be another Disney movie, a different movie/series or perhaps even a TV series/ book/book series (though the ones I'll do for those are more limited) please be sure to suggest. And also if anyone has any suggestions for how the story should go, I'll always consider it.
