CHAPTER 2
"Aileen, please reconsider," Amy said as Aileen's friend Janie pulled up to the house. "No! I'm tired of this crap that you put me through!" Aileen exclaimed. Amy looked at her feet. "Fine…." she said. "If this is what you really want Aileen….Ill let you go, if it makes you happy…." Aileen looked at her sister. Then she walked over to her friends car and put her luggage in the back and got in. She didn't look back as they drove away. Amy walked into the house and fell onto the couch and started crying.
She felt her cell phone vibrate in her pocket. She pulled it out. She had a text message from Shadow. "Is everything OK?" it said. She typed back, "can you please come to my house?" After ten seconds, she got a reply. "Yeah, sure," Shadow had replied. Amy put the phone back in her pocket and walked upstairs to take a shower.
After she was done with her shower and dressed, she walked out into the front room and sat on the couch. She turned on the TV to the music channel. About half an hour later, she heard knocking on the door. She walked to the door and opened it. Shadow was standing there. She ran into his arms and buried her face in his fur. He held her tightly and close. She looked up at him. "Can we go inside now?" Shadow asked. "Oh, yeah," Amy replied.
They walked in the house. Amy shut the door behind them. Shadow grabbed her hand and looked her in the eyes. "Where is Aileen?" he asked. Amy looked away. "That's the problem…..Aileen left….She went with Janie, her friend…" she explained. "Was it because you were out and came home later than you said?" Shadow asked. "Yeah…" Amy replied. "Amy….." Shadow said. "I'm sorry."
Amy got up and walked down the hall and into her room. Shadow followed her. Amy fell onto her bed and said something but Shadow couldn't hear her because her face was in her pillow. He walked over and sat next to her on her bed. "Cheer up Ames. It will be okay," he said. "NO IT WON'T!" Amy shouted at him. "My little sister hates me now! I want things to be the way they were before we started fighting…." she explained. Shadow rubbed her back. "Do you want me to help you apologize to her?" he asked. "You would do that?" Amy asked. "If you want me to, then yes, I would," he explained. "Shadow…..Thank you," Amy said. "No problem babe. Anything for my girlfriend," he explained and kissed Amy's cheek. Amy blushed and smiled. Shadow chuckled. He laid down next to her and pulled her close. "Now let's get some sleep," he said. "Tomorrow we will work the problem out." Amy nodded her head. "Okay and thank you again, Shadow," she said. "No problem! I'm glad to help," he said.
Amy closed her eyes. She listened to the beat of Shadow's heart. He stroked her hair as they lay in bed together, and soon they were asleep.
