Chapter 16

BPOV

Jason and I talked a for what seemed like hours but I eventually told him that I had other things to do so I exited his room and left the main house and headed to the cottage. I said my goodbyes to the family and headed out the door and across the river to the cottage, my home.

Once I entered through the door I knew Edward was in the house because I heard things getting thrown around. I headed into the living room then down the hall past the kitchen to our bedroom.

The door was closed, I opened it and saw Edward throwing clothes from our closet to his suitcase. That frightful site made my breathing come to a complete stop. Could vampires faint? I felt like everything was collapsing around me. I didn't know what to do.

"What are you doing?" I asked him, staring at his back. My words were barely above a whisper, the wind would have to carry it to his ears for him to hear me.

" What does it look like, Bella?" he responded wit his back still turned to me. His voice was so cold and distance. It wasn't like the warm, loving, caring, velvety voice I'm use to hearing. What was wring with him?

" It looks like your leaving me for the second time in my life" I paused, and watched him go stiff as the memory of him leaving me after my birthday party nightmare with jasper when I was human. I started again the moment he turned around, I couldn't read his expression. " What did I do this time, Edward? Did I not act more like a vampire? Do you not wanna be married to me? Am I not doing a good enough job as a fiancée? Is this about Jacob? What is it? Let me know now so I can shield my heart from you the next time we meet. I'm not religious but as god as my witness, please believe me when I say I don't want you to go. I don't want you to leave Carlisle, Esme, Emmett, jasper, Alice, Rosalie, Jason. The family needs you, Edward. If your that unhappy with me to where you feel you have to leave please just think about them. Stay for them, and know that whatever I did I'm sorry for" I said. I wasn't crying cause vamps cant cry but I sure the hell was broken.

" Bella, I…" he started but I had already turned and left the room. I ran out of the cottage, not being able to stand the sight of his clothes in the suitcase. I ran and ran all the way to Jake's house. I knew he was there cause his lights were on and it smelled like dog near the house.

I walked up to the door and it swung open as my hand was in mid-air about to knock. Jake answered the door. "Bella?" Jake said. He looked the same, besides more muscles.

" Hi, Jake. I'm sorry for just popping up like this. I hope I'm not interrupting anything" I said, hoping he didn't have anyone over or was expecting anyone.

" Please Bella, you are my best friend, you are always welcome here. You should know that already." Jake responded. He then grabbed me and gave me a huge hug. I missed him. He doesn't come around much anymore.

After I was turned he stayed for awhile but not very long. He said he had wolf stuff to deal with and I never saw him after that.

"I missed you, Bella. I meant to come over and visit but-" I cut him off.

I stepped away from him, "But I'm a vampire now and the sight of me makes you sick, I know. Its okay, Jake." I said. He opened up the door wider and we sat at the table before he replied.

"That's not what I was gonna say. What I was gonna say was that, Seth has been growing up and I've been training him to get stronger and be a proper wolf. Not to mention that dilemma with the new vampire that came looking for you guys. Who is that guy anyway?" Jake asked.

So I launched into the whole story about how Jason came here looking for not only a coven but a family. Jake didn't say a word, he was just sitting there listening to me. Being here felt like old times when we would just talk about our problems to each other. Be there for one another until we got mixed up in this supernatural world.

"So, what's the deal with him and you? He hot for you?" Jake asked after I was done.

"I don't know. I doubt it. We're just friends." I told him.

"Right, and I'm Santa clause. Bella you were never any good at sensing peoples feelings. Especially when it came to guys. You really cant tell when a guy or vampire is hitting on you?" he asked laughing a little.

"He wasn't hitting on me. I swear!" I proclaimed. He was still laughing.

"Sure" he said then smiled at me. I returned his smile and started laughing with him. "So why are you here, Bella? Not that I don't love that you are here, I'm just curious." he said truthfully.

Just as I was about to tell him why I jumped ship and escaped to his house there was a knock on the door. Jake got up to answer, but the moment the door was open. Seth came barging in. "Hey, man. Do you mind if I crash here for awhile? Leah is driving me crazy. She's acting like my mom. Just cause mom went on a date with Charlie doesn't mean she can boss me around like some house dog. I wanna be free, you know." he rambled on until he noticed me sitting at the table. "Oh, hey Bella. You're a vampire! Sorry to hear about what happened. How you been?" he asked me.

"Hey Seth, I've been good." I replied with a smile.

"Seth, what do you want?" Jake asked a little irritated that Seth just barged in.

"A place to crash for a few days? Please Jake. I'll do your laundry. I wont be any trouble-"Jake cut him off.

"Sure, you can crash here, but me and Bella were just talking. So if you don't mind-"

Seth came over and sat in the seat opposite me-cutting Jake off mid-sentence. "What brings you to La Push, Bella? We haven't seen you in awhile." Seth stated.

"I know" I simple said. Watching as Jake came back to the table sitting in the chair on my right.

"You were just about to tell me why you were here before a fifteen year old rudely barged in." he looked at Seth whose smile slightly faded. I just laughed at him, "So spill it." Jake said.

I told about everything that happened since I woke up to be a vampire. Told them about Jason. Truth or dare with Alice. The fight with Edward and Jasper. My recent fight with Edward which drove me here.

While I said this I noticed that Seth looked as if we was having some battle with himself internally. I wanted to ask him what was wrong but once I was done. He ran out of the house.

"What's wrong with him, Jake? Did I say something?" I asked Jake not knowing what I did or if I did anything to provoke him to act that way.

"Bella, Seth looks up to you and Edward. He wants a imprint like the kind of love you guys have. Edward is his friend and saved his life. Maybe he's gonna go try and save Edward's life in return."
