Chapter 19

EPOV

I ran back to the main house trailing Alice who was in front of me. I was trying very hard to keep my problems behind me. Bella and I would eventually figured out our problems with this Jasper situation because no matter how; much she tries to deny it.

Once I entered the house I saw everyone crowded around the kitchen table where I assumed Carlisle was when the phone call came in. I approached them all and saw Carlisle stand up as I was closing the distance between myself and the table. Carlisle got up from the table and held out the phone to me. I looked at him for some sign or waning so I know what and what not to say during this conversation with Aro.

I took the phone with caution and held it up to my hear. I heard Bella come in and was in the kitchen doorway looking at me. Probably looking for some hint to what Aro wanted me for.

"Hello" I heard over the phone. I assumed the voice was Aro's waiting for someone to respond or inform him that I was on my way. I looked at the phone and wondered what to do. I guess I would just have to " wing it" as they say now and days.

" Aro. I was informed that you wanted to speak to me" I replied after a minute of silence and panic.

" Yes, young friend, I do want to speak to you" he confirmed my thoughts. I waited to see if he would continue. When he was silent I began to speak again.

" What about, Aro?" I led on wanting to know exactly why he requested to talk to me. I waited for him to answer as I heard Felix giving him directions on how to use the cell phone which is clearly Felix's.

" Ah, yes, Edward. I wanted to know if you wouldn't mind combing forces" he said and his words stopped whatever words were about to come out my mouth. Was Aro asking me if we could become a team? Both of our clans? This has got to be some joke.

" I need help in defeating this huge coven that have been assaulting new York. I don't know much about this new coven only that there numbers grow more each day. I fear losing a great number of my guard and talented individuals so I would like to combine our clans and with the combined powers and unique talent we should eliminate the problem without a sweat." he explained. I was still in awe as I listened to him.

" I would appreciate it if you gave us a few days to ponder over the difficult decision you have laid upon us" I finally said while blinking so my eyes could adjust.

" Of course, young friend. But don't ponder too long. Our lives and secrecy depend on whether our too covens will unite" then the line went dead. Carlisle took the phone then and saved the number Aro had called from in the phone book.

" Aro must really need the help of our family to face whatever enemy is coming. He said our secrecy and lives depend on it. Should we trust him?" I announced to everyone else.

" If we trust him we are talking a risk with our family and our lives. We don't even know if this threat Aro was talking about really exist. I say we should go to Volterra and have a meeting with Caius, Marcus, and Aro to discuss this so called "threat". "said Emmett. Who knew that those kind of words would come out of Emmett's mouth.

" I agree with you Emmet, we shall go to Volterra and sort this mess out." said Carlisle.

" I'll book first class tickets" Alice announced as she skipped over to the computer.

" I'll alert the pack that we are going out of town and that they should be on extra high alert if there really is a threat we should be aware of " I informed everyone.

The rest of us dispersed and went about doing things to get ready to go and confront Aro about a possible treaty between our two covens though we have to make sure that there is an actual threat to eliminate first.

We are off to Volterra, Italy. God help us.

BPOV

We all sat in the living room waiting for Carlisle to say that our trip to Volterra on the Private jet was all set up and confirmed. We decided that we would fly out there and see what assistance Aro needed. Who knows what Aro has waiting for us? He could have half of the guard waiting for us at the front entrance and then they attack.

I feel so uneasy about this rescue Aro mission were on. Im sitting next to Edward on the love sofa who hasn't said a word to me yet. I look at him from the side and he just looks lost in his own thoughts.

I made up my mind after a few minutes sitting there bored, so I opened up my shield so Edward could hear me.

" Wait a couple minutes then follow me outside. We need to talk" I said and saw him glance at me before I got up from the love sofa and exit through the door.

I ran across the river and a little past our cottage into the woods behind it. I stopped there to collect my thoughts and figure out what I was gonna say to him before he got here. Five minutes later hear him come through the trees.

It was silent until he spoke, " Bella" he said softly with a nod of his head. I nodded back and said his name in greeting.

" Look Edward, I had no idea you felt that way till earlier tonight now we could have avoided this argument if only you would have talk to me about it before just acting on it. I hate when me don't talk or when we fight" I stated.

" Me either. I'm sorry I didn't talk to you before, Bella" he said as he closed the space between us. Both our bodies were nearly molded together we were standing so close. He touched my cheek and my eyes closed at his soft hands on my skin.

We stayed like that for awhile just basking in each others presents. We murmured 'I love yous' to each other and vows to one another. Eventually we started to dance under the moonlight to our own music.

Our moment of bliss got interrupted when Emmet loudly started to applaud at us. We came to a halt and faced my big bear like brother in law.

"You guys look like a little fairy tale dancing here under the moonlight. Awe how cute!" he exclaimed. Then the big booming laughter came next.

"What do you want, Emmett?" Edward said trying not to laugh. I didn't find it funny, well maybe a little bit.

" Oh, um Carlisle said were all set to go and he needs you guys back at the house" he reported then ran back to the house at vampire speed laughing.

We didn't say anything but look at each other and laugh at Emmett's comment. When we were done we ran back to the house to meet Carlisle at the front door.

" Carlisle, you wanted to see us?" Edward said. He made it sound like a question even though it was a fact. I'm guessing Edward cant get anything from Carlisle's mind.

"Edward, Bella. We got another call from Aro and he has sent Felix n Dimitri to escort us to the palace. He has requested to speak to u and Bella immediately once we arrive" Carlisle informed us.

" Carlisle you know the last time I was in the same room with him he tried to hurt Bella what if-" he got cut off by Carlisle.

" nothing will happen Edward. He just wants to speak with you. Control your anger son" Carlisle said to Edward.

Then he put a hand on Edward's shoulder for a minute before coming over and giving me a hug and entering the garage to pack bags I assume.

Edward and I entered the house to tell the others that we will be back and that we were going to the cottage to pack some things. Once we got to the cottage we entered our bedroom and Edward got our suitcases while I searched through our large closet.

He came up behind me and kissed me on my neck then on my ear as I giggled. Then he stepped back to put the clothes I gave him in the suit case. I turned back to give him a kiss and hand him more clothes when i discovered…..he was gone.
