READ ME. DO IT NOW.
I know I've been away for almost a year, but I have an excuse for that. I have a social life and a lot of stuff has been going on. FEEL PITY FOR ME. I promise that I won't go cold for several months ever again. Minecraft also played a large part and I had a major writers BLOCK. You see what I did there? *wink wink*
Okay, I'm done being weird now. Enjoy~!
Time passed in Wonderland. Blood got me a job as a maid at the Hatter Mansion - the dress was really cute - which took up most of my time. I eventually got used to the chaotic speed of things, but I was still disturbed by how quickly the time of day changed.
There was always something fun going on and the tea parties were constant, so I didn't have time to be bored. Although I still wanted to get home more with every passing moment, I began to enjoy the so-called "dream". The people weren't so bad either...Except for that unfortunate "Merry-Go-Round" incident...
I often went back and forth from the Hatter Mansion and the Amusement Park. Although the mansion was my home, I loved the Park, too. Gowland gave me a Free Pass because I didn't make fun of his name, so Boris and I could spend as much time together as we wanted.
I had always been a sucker for cats, and being friends with a neko boy was a fantasy for me. Boris was more than happy to let me pet him, and he even acted like a cat for me sometimes - putting his head on my lap, nuzzling my face, but he seemed to take too much pleasure in licking me. Ahurrhurr.
Meanwhile, back at the mafia, Blood was having another huge tea party, but this one was different. It was actually going to be a territorial negotiation with the Queen of Hearts, but I wasn't allowed to be there. And I was perfectly fine with that. I've read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and the Queen was insane and her favorite words were "Off with their head!". Who KNOWS what kind of crazy chick she is in the Country of Hearts?!
Blood chased me off when the Queen started to arrive - I could tell by a line of soldiers dressed like cards - so I made myself useful in the kitchen. I loved baking cakes and other pantry stuff, and I was quite good at it if I do say so myself. I often made the food we had at the tea parties and the others seemed to enjoy them, especially Elliot. I knew he had an obsession for carrot sweets, so I made as many of them as I could. He was so cute when he got all excited about my food.
Yes, I confess, I think Elliot's cute. For the mafia's number two. For a rabbit. I kind of thought Elliot and Peter were related for a bit until he pointed out that he wasn't a rabbit. He was actually...
A dog.
DUN. DUN. DUN!
I couldn't help but laugh. There was no way Elliot wasn't a rabbit. He had the ears and even a poofy little tail to prove it! But even if he was a rabbit, like that stupid Peter White, I wouldn't hate him for it. He was born that way, and that would've been unfair of me, plus I liked Elliot. He was probably the nicest person I'd met in Wonderland so far.
And yet...
"Everyone in this world loves outsiders."
That's what Nightmare said, so does that mean that Elliot...likes me in that way?
No, no. I shook my head. I'm not close to him like that. Come to think of it, I'm not remotely interested in anyone like that. I don't believe in love.
"Ohmygosh, are those CARROT SWEETS?!" I jumped when I heard a voice scream behind me. I glanced over my shoulder and saw Elliot was standing over the tray of carrot cookies I had baked. His amethyst eyes were shining and his ears shot up straight in the air. That is why I like Elliot, ladies and gentleman. He is freaking ADORABLE.
"Um, yep. I know you love them, so I made them for the next tea party."
"You made them...for me?" He looked genuinely touched. "Thank you, thank you, Sabrina!" A kid on Christmas...
"Your welcome," I giggled - since when do I giggle? - and went back to mixing a bowl of carrot cake batter, which made Elliot even more excited. He pulled up a chair and munched on a few of the carrot-shaped cookies I gave him. He filled me in on the territorial negotiation. Blood wanted to sell a small piece of the Amusement Park they stole to Heart Castle for a ridiculously high price, and the two argued until they agreed on a more reasonable price.
Apparently Blood and Queen Vivaldi were sort of arch enemies and tried to kill each other every time they met. Elliot told me another war was coming, and I should be careful if I wanted to visit other territories in the future. But I had nothing to worry about if I stayed in the mafia's borders, where I would be protected. I felt like I was becoming a part of the family.
That didn't mean I approved of his work, though. It scared me sometimes. One night, Blood, Elliot, and the twins all went out for one of their "jobs". I stayed up and waited for them to come home. When they finally did, their clothes were drenched in blood and they all looked exhausted.
I immediately freaked out and asked, "Are you guys okay?!"
"Don't worry, young lady." Blood cut through my little rant. "The blood's not ours." Elliot was already half-asleep, but the twins hugged me tightly, getting me dirty in the process.
I didn't want any of them to get hurt.
