Hey! I'm back with the next chap. Sorry for not releasing earlier, blame writer's block! I don't own HXH!
Previously...
I shrugged my shoulders once again and ran off of the cliff. I grabbed a spider-eagle egg right after Menchi jumped to get one too. I was still falling, I could hear Menchi calling out my name, but I didn't care. The silver ribbon of water was coming closer, so was the ground.
All of a sudden, I heard Killua and Menchi call out at the same time, they shouted something that made me freeze up. "AKANE!"
Enjoy the story~!
Tsukiko's P.O.V.
I was still falling, I was still shocked. "TSUKIKO!" I snapped out of it and looked up to see Hito, Gon, Leorio, Kara, and Kurapika. I quickly grabbed a string and pulled myself up onto it. My bangs covered my eyes as I swung back up to the top. I landed infront of Killua and Menchi.
"Akane." I whispered to myself. "Akane..."
"Why did you call me Akane?" I asked Killua and Menchi, my voice wavering. They must have thought that it was because of fright. "My student really looks like you. Are you sure that you are not her?" Menchi answered. "I am not Akane," I replied. Killua spoke up, "My childhood friend was named Akane. You really remind me of her." I nodded.
"Tsuki! Are you alight?" Hito came rushing over to me, panicked. I just nodded again and ordered, "Leave me alone for a while." "But-" Hito started. I cut her off, "Just leave me alone!" I turned to the chairman. "I already passed right? Can I board the airship now?" "Go ahead," he replied.
I shoved the egg into Killua's arms and stumbled into the airship, found a room, and slept.
Dream~
Before Dantalion-sama applied the fire, he told me, "There is one more condition. You will get bad memories over and over, frequently. You will also re-experience the pain." Akane stared blankly at him, and said, void of emotions, "I don't care." Dantalion-sama sighed once again and applied the cyan fire to Akane's thigh, it burned, yet she didn't scream. After the process finished, the result was a cyan fire with a dark blue wolf branded into her skin. Akane touched it lightly and flinched. "It'll hurt for a while. Don't let anything touch it except for clothing, or the seal will be broken. After a week, you can touch it. There are some extra yukatas and haoris that Chitose left behind in her old room. You can use her getas too."
Akane said thanks to the wolf demon and headed to Chitose's room. She pulled open Chitose's room's door and stepped inside of the rather clean room. Akane stepped over to the closet and looked at the various yukatas and haoris. Akane chose a teal yukata with a black star pattern. The haori she chose was a gray-blue color with a gold embroidery at the edges. She wore the regular black getas.
She quietly thanked the wolf demon again and left the underworld.
Tsukiko's P.O.V.
I quietly woke up. Blinking quickly and rubbing my eyes. I shifted and felt something leaning against me. I looked on my left shoulder and saw a blob of silver. I felt heat rush up to my face, coloring it crimson. Killua shifted, murmuring something under his breath and resumed his slumber. I smiled softly and placed his head on my lap gently. I started running my hand through his hair, and I used my other one to sweep his bangs out of his face.
I planted a small kiss on his forehead. "Killua..." I whispered. I gently removed his t-shirt from his clenched fists, folded it, and placed it under his head. I stood and walked out of the room. I headed for the cafeteria and asked the lady if I could have a chocolate shake. Minutes later, I was given my shake.
I walked out, onto the balcony. I leaned against the rail and sipped my milkshake. I sighed and started talking to myself.
I looked at the star filled sky.
"Why does everyone want Akane? It's always Akane! To me, Akane died long ago. And to Akane, I never existed and never will. Akane wanted her freedom, she wanted to live her own life. That's why I'm alive right now, all because Akane wanted to live her own life without restrictions. But, Akane is gone and I replaced her."
Nobody's P.O.V.
Unknown to Tsukiko, Killua was listening to everything silently.
Tsukiko continued, "One day Akane will return, and on that day, I will die. Then, once I return, Akane will die once again. But I should just stay dead. Everyone wants Akane after all, nobody wants me. To everyone, Tsukiko Eclipse is nothing, but to everyone, Akane Nisshoku is meaningful. Mother, father, and big brother will be joyful and exited once Akane returns, but if I return, they'll hate me, shun me, hit me. It's always about Akane, it's never about me."
Tsukiko was crying silently by now. She sighed bitterly and said, "Everything revolves around Akane. Maybe I really should disappear. It's just as Dantalion-sama said to Akane. 'You can't hide from your family forever.' It's so true, because I can't and I bet Akane agrees. But if I die, then I can hide from my family forever, and Akane will die with me, so then, Dantalion-sama would be wrong."
Tsukiko finished her milkshake and wiped away her tears.
Killua was shocked. Just hearing Tsukiko's words made him confused, worried, and slightly saddened. To think that Tsukiko wanted to end her life was saddening. But he was utterly confused about the relationship between Akane and Tsukiko. Killua walked away silently and quickly, he started thinking. 'Could they be twins? That would explain the favoritism, but why are their surnames different then? And what does she mean when she says that if she dies then Akane will return and vice versa?' Killua was left alone, pondering about his thoughts.
~TIME SKIP~
Karasu's P.O.V.
I woke up two hours before the air ship landed. I looked at the time and it said 9:00 am. I was confused, but shrugged it off and walked towards the cafeteria. I saw Hito, Tsuki, Killua, Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio all there. I grabbed a bowl of cereal, a glass of milk, a apple, and a spoon. I walked over to the table where they were all sitting at and sat beside Kurapika. Hito giggled and commented, "You woke up late." I nodded in agreement. I noticed the tense air between Killua and Tsuki.
Tsuki was stabbing her blueberry waffles more than she needed to. Killua was poking at his chocolate pancakes as if it was infected. I leaned towards Kurapika and asked, "What's up with those two?" Kurapika shook his head and replied, "They were like that since this morning."
My hand brushed Kurapika's and a faint pink tinted my cheeks. I turned my attention to my food. Unbeknownst to me, Kurapika also had a faint pink color on his cheeks.
Gon interrupted the awkward silence at our table by asking, "Hito-chan, Kara, Tsuki, why do you guys want to be hunters?"
I smiled and replied, "I want to find something my mom left me." "I want to find my brother!" Hito declared. Tsuki shrugged and stated, "I wanted a adventure and to live my own life." "And to do that you're going to die, which is going to make Akane die in the process!" Killua seethed. Tsuki growled, "I don't care about Akane! If Akane died then I would too, that's just the way it is! Everyone loves Akane, but everyone hates me, so I should just die to do them and the world a favor!" "Yeah, and take Akane away from us! And isn't that jealousy?! The way you put it sounds like you are both the same person!" Killua shot back.
Leorio, Hito, Gon, Kurapika, and I stared at them, all shocked at the outbursts.
"You wouldn't understand anything! Nobody understands! I didn't ask to be in that family! Akane wanted to live her own life without restrictions, so she did! But in the process, she cast all of her restrictions onto me! She asked for me to be created just to use me to put her restrictions on! Now she's completely free while I'm dragged down with the weight of all of her restrictions! All of her pain? I carry it! Her guilt? I carry it! Her sin? I have to take the blame! Nobody would ever understand!"
Everybody was watching them now. But the thing that shocked me was that the strongest person that I've ever met was crying. Even something that made me cry, she wouldn't cry. If Hito or I would start crying, it was always Tsuki who wasn't crying and she was the one to cheer us up. But now she was crying. In that moment, I realized how much pain that Tsuki carried on her shoulders, maybe she was carrying much more than what I think. She seemed strong on the outside, but on the inside she was constantly in pain, constantly crying.
She always put on a brave face for us, she always comforted and protected us. She carried all of our burdens on her own shoulders, including this Akane's. I'm sure that Hito was thinking just like me.
All of a sudden, I felt a big wave of guilt wash over me. I clung to Kurapika, and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders. Hito was squeezing Gon's hand so tightly.
Leorio didn't dare say anything. Killua seemed lost for words.
Tsuki stabbed her fork into the titanium table, making a huge dent and the fork made a hole as big as a baby's head. She slammed the fork onto the table, which caused another dent and walked away, seeming calm, but she was radiating rage. After she slammed the doors closed, the fork and table broke into pieces. Killua finally regained his voice and muttered, "Akane is way better than her, what the hell did she mean by that? She caused herself that guilt." A knife whizzed by his face, cutting his cheek and embedding itself to the wall behind him.
"Heard that," was what a muffled voice said. Everybody's attention was once again back on Killua. A boy that looked like he was four stepped out of the shadows. The boy had straight, floor length, silky, red hair. His bangs were fairly long, reaching his knees. He had black eyes. He was wearing a dark purple yukata with a black haori ontop of it.
"Who're you?" I looked and saw the chairman. 'When did he get here?'
"I guess you can say that I'm some what like Tsukiko's little brother. I am older than her though. 20 years 3 months and 6 days old to be exact. My name is Lucius," the boy, no, man said. "You look so small," Hito said. Lucius tilted his head and stated, "I'm fairly big for my age. Most others would look like three year olds."
"Why are you so small?" Hito asked. 'Gosh, Hito. Stop asking questions.' "Do you really want to know?" Lucius questioned. Hito nodded. Lucius sighed, "I'm a demon. I work under Dantalion-sama. Ever since Tsukiko was born I looked after her." Lucius looked out of the window and commented, "We're going to land soon." And he disappeared, a note replacing him. I picked up the note and read it aloud, ignoring all of the attention on me. "It says, 'You're going to regret talking to Tsukiko like that, Killua. -Lucius'."
Killua was going to retort, but the airship landed and people started rushing off.
Chapter is full of arguing, it's pretty bad. Does anyone know who Akane is? Please review.
