Kisa had agreed to attend his boyfriends fathers funeral and meet Kou's mother and his sister. They were on the train heading to the funeral, both of them wearing black suits, that fit in perfectly with the solemn occasion.
Though Kisa had never met the dad, he had learnt something over the year that they had been dating, and that was, his father was homophobic. He resented anything to do with the gay community and would turn a blind eye to the matter. He tended to call his son a faggot for liking art.
Kisa also learnt that his beliefs onq two ladies falling in love was perfectly natural, but two men was wrong. Kou when he was thirteen was told of the consequences, by his father if he was gay, later on his mother had told him that if he was gay, she wouldn't care and would welcome the male to the family.
The fact that Shouta was attending his boyfriends dad's funeral who was homophobic, really made Kisa's head spin. On one hand, the dead male wouldn't want a gay person to be at his funeral, but on the other hand, he was dead, how was he to know.
As the train pulled up, to the station, the two got onto a bus and headed to the church for the service.
When they arrived, they put their luggage into a room and met with the rest of the family who were all taking their seats. Kou lead his boyfriend to the back and began to point out some people. Kisa sat and listened as his lover spoke about his family. He could see the pain on his lovers face. He was going to start crying anytime soon and he knew it. He did see a few others who were in tears.
"Kou, don't bottle it up. If you wanna cry go ahead," Shouta took his lovers hand and massaged it softly, while watching as the tears in his lovers eyes began to spill over. Kisa sat closer and wrapped an arm around him.
"Apart from being homophobic, you're dad was a good man," Kou nodded his head wiping his eyes with a tissue. The doors opened and the coffin was carried into the room and placed at the front. Kou held his lovers hand as his dad passed him within the wooden box.
The ceremony went on for sometime, Kisa sat back and listened to the service while he comforted his lover. He had his phone off, but he was desperate to talk with Rittie to make sure he had done the work.
When the service ended the two exited first but waited outside for the rest of the family. Kisa sat there feeing awkward. The rest of the family were grieving and he was going to intrude.
"You're apart of my life. It will be fine," Kisa could only nod his head at his lovers reinsurance. He watched as Kou opened his arms and a girl aged 13 ran into them. She was crying hard against the male while Kou tried to calm her down.
"Kou, darling. I am so glad you could make it. How's this?" Kou stood up and looked to his mother with a smile before taking Kisa's hand.
"This is my boyfriend, Shouta Kisa," The mum looked at Shouta for some time her eyebrows knitting together. Kisa could tell what she was thinking about. He went into his back pocket, took his wallet out and showed the woman his driving licence.
"You're 31? You look about 15," the woman laughed. Kisa laughed gently nodding his head. She seemed nice.
"I get that a lot. It's a curse," The woman shook her head.
"That is a gift. Tsubaki! Tsubaki come here," the woman rushed off to grab another lady who was the same age as Yukina's mum. The strange woman stood in front of Shouta staring at him.
"How old you think he is?" The mother asked with a smile. Kou could only laugh as he watched the woman frowned.
"Kou, who is this?"
"This is Shouta Kisa. My boyfriend," The woman gasped then frowned.
"Now, I'm all for this, but isn't he a bit young?" Kou couldn't help but laugh. He shook his head then smiled.
"He's 9 years older than me," Tsubaki could only gasp at the male makig Shouta show his driving licence once again.
"Wow, I'm sorry. You look 15," The woman laughed then ran off.
"That was my dad's only sister. Tsubaki. She's the same age as my mum. I don't have any cousins on his side," Shouta only nodded then looked to Kou's sister who was grinning at the two.
"Are you famous? I'm sure I've heard your name before," Kisa shook his head giving the girl a smile.
"No, I'm not famous at all," Kisa laughed. Kou went to get their luggage then gave them a smile.
"I was going to bring Shouta down earlier, but he couldn't get away from work. I was going to introduce him to dad but you know," The mother nodded her head then looked to Shouta with a smile.
"Oh, I never introduced my self. I am Hinata Yukina and this is my daughter Sera Yukina," Shouta smiled at them both and was taken into the car. Shouta in the middle as Sera wanted to sit beside him and so did Kou. His mother was driving and Tsubaki got in as well.
Shouta turned his phone on and saw a few phone calls from Ritsu and text messages. He played his voice mail, before cursing under his breath. The car was silent to everyone heard him swear.
"Is everything okay?" Hinata asked.
"Not really. The person I work with, is refusing to work with my replacement while I am away. She is being stubborn and is refusing to work," He sighed. He called her up then as she answered he began to growl at her.
"What the hell is wrong with you. You only have 10 pages to do. Get them flipping done. Rittie is doing me a favour and is offering to help you. We will not be late again. The printers will hate me and Takano will be down my back again,"
"No. I will not work with him. You are on holiday why can't I be on one?" Shouta scuffed before growling back at her.
"I have done almost everything for you this month. God sake. It is only 10 pages!" Kisa hung up then rested against his lovers side.
"Is she really that stubborn?" Kisa nodded his head.
"I'll probably be working during this. If you want, you can help me," Kisa sighed at the idea of working while he was trying to spend time with his lover. Yukina nodded h is head then looked to Sera who was staring at the two.
"Sera, would you help us out here and get Shouta's work done," The girl nodded her head then brought out a book. Shouta looked at it before rolling his eyes.
"Girl's master? Why?" He asked as he saw the part she was on. The girl smiled at him as not many males knew about the book.
"The next issue is due soon. So I am refreshing myself for it," Kisa nodded his head then looked to Tsubaki who was grinning at him. Yukina looked to the woman with confusion then tapped Kisa who was staring at the book.
"I didn't know, other males liked that book," She laughed. Kisa smiled then shook his head.
"I'm a shougo manga editor. I have read like 90% of the shougo manga's out there," Sera grinned at the male and looked to her brothers lover.
"Where do you work? Where do you work?"
"Uhh, Murakawa publishing," he said scratching the back of his head. Sera lit up with a smile.
"Do you work with the editor who helped to created 'Girl Master'?" Shouta laughed shaking his head.
"No I don't work with the editor," he said giving his lover a smile. The car soon pulled up to a street that was quiet and very posh. Each building looked very old and each had four floor each. Kou stepped out of the car, as well as everyone else. Shouta walked over and took his luggage from his lover.
The two headed into the house, that was on the far corner. Shouta didn't really look around, he followed Kou onto the 3rd floor. He followed him into a room that was fairly large. There was a king sized bed with bookshelves and book shelves of Shoujo Manga. Kou took his lovers hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"I have a fax, you can get working, I'll get the equipment while you get the pages you must do," Kou showed Shouta to the Fax Machine that was on the first floor. The pages quickly came over and Shouta ran back up to his lover who had all the equipment on the floor. Shouta was straight down to toning and adding other things to the pages. Kou was drawing beside him. He didn't want to spoil Girls Master for himself.
Sera came into the room a few hours later with snacks, she put the tray down next to the two, who looked really busy. When she looked to the pages that Shouta was working on, she recognised the drawings straight away.
"Girls Master? You work with the author," Kisa nodded his head simply, he wasn't really thinking what he was saying.
"Yeah, I'm her editor," Sera jumped up and down then ran down stairs then ran back up the stairs to the fourth floor, then ran back down once more. She held Girls Master Volume 3 in her hands. She opened it at the back, where there was a picture of an autograph signing. There in the picture stood Kisa with one of his authors, the one that had created Girls Master.
She screamed before running down the stairs to her mother and her aunty. She brought them back up the stairs and they watched as Shouta continued with finishing the final sheets. They walked over to see the main character of the book to be getting tone on her hair.
They chuckled softly at the sight then looked to Kou who was drawing. Shouta looked up after finishing all the sheets. He saw Hinata and Tsubaki grinning at him. He frowned at them, why where they smiling at him in the first place? It was kind of creepy.
Kou sat up then looked to his sister, he stood up then helped Shouta up who had now dead legs. The older one held onto his lovers arm till his legs woke up. "Dinner is ready. You can tell us how about yourself during then," Hinata clapped her hands together, a large smile adoring her lips.
Shouta sat at the table of 5, he sat next to Kou and Sera, who was smiling at him. He stared at his food, it looked good. Probably not as good as Kou's but good. He picked up his chopsticks then slowly put the food to his lips. He could feel the stares of Sera, Hinata and Tsubaki as he ate.
"Yukina how is college?" Hinata asked taking a bite of her own food. Without much thinking, he replied.
"It's great. I get hit on like all the time, but not a big deal," he smiled. Kisa looked to the corner of his eyes. He wasn't aware that his boyfriend was being hit on. He spent almost everyday with him and yet, 'how are you' never brought up the conversation that Kou was being hit on.
Was it because Yukina thought that he would be jealous. Well, there was that one time, but still, he could at least still tell him that he was getting hit on.
After dinner Sera led Shouta up into her room where she showed him the manga collection that she owned, "How many of these did you work on?" Kisa looked through all of them before smiling.
"All of them," he pulled a book out then opened it to a specific page. "In Murakawa, the editors sometimes make up there own little stories. This is mine," He explained. Sera laughed. That happened to be her favourite story.
"It's based upon mine and your brothers relationship. Everyone at my table enjoyed it," Sera smiled before she went online and looked up some facts. Just then Shouta's phone rang. He stepped outside to answer it.
Shouta sighed hanging up the phone, he went to find his lover in his bedroom drawing. He walked in then sat beside him cuddling into his arm, "In the morning, I have to head back to work. Girls master is being turned into an anime and I need to help since Akiko is refusing to help. Keep this between us though," Kou nodded capturing his lovers lips, in a loving and hungry kiss.
He led him onto the bed where they continued to kiss. Shouta snaked his hand into his lovers hair while Kou put his hands around his waist holding him still.
The two didn't hear Sera came in, the two were stripped to their boxers. She screamed in fright getting the attention of both males. They sat up beside each other looking at the female who looked terrified.
"Were you gonna have s-sex," she said whispering the last word. Kou stood up then brought his sister onto the bed beside Kisa. She was blushing heavily, feeling very awkward.
Kou gave her a cuddle then kissed her forehead, "Sera, Kisa is my lover. Sex does come when loving someone. No, we weren't gonna do it. We would only do it if we were completely alone. I'll be with Shouta for a long time, you'll just have to accept it," Sera nodded.
"What about dad, are you glad that you can now be happy without him," Kou shook his head.
"Sera, I was gonna come up last month, but Shouta couldn't get a break. He works really hard and we couldn't come up. Do you not like me knowing that I have a boyfriend,"
She thought about it, it did feel weird, that her brother liked the same sex as her, but Shouta was really nice. She loved all of his work, and he knew a lot of manga styles. She would make an exception for him.
Shouta gave Kou a kiss on the lips before lying in the bed and putting the covers over him, "I think the train is at half four. I need to kill Akiko then go to the meeting for everything. I don't think we can talk till you come back," Kou nodded then led Sera out the room and into the living room.
"When will Girls Master be out, it has been put on hold," Sera whined. Kou thought about it before replying.
"Most likely in four days. I have seen the 'rubbish' copy of it, I haven't seen the final copy yet," he explained. Sera sat down beside her mum then smiled.
"I caught our dear Kou getting dirty with Shouta," The said male blushed shaking his head. He sighed then took a seat beside his sister.
"We were only making out. Something most couples do," Kou sighed heavily.
"Dear, what's wrong?" Tsubaki asked putting an arm around him. He was always so cheerful.
"I was going to tell dad. I swear I was. Stuff came up and we couldn't come up. I swear. I wanted to show Shouta to dad. I really was going to introduce him to dad," he whispered. Tsubaki nodded then kissed his cheek.
Kou got up without saying anything else and went to sleep with Shouta. He was sound asleep by the time he got in. He snuggled into his lover with tearful eyes. He hated the fact that he couldn't show his lover to his father.
When Kou woke up he saw a black figure exiting the bedroom. He felt for his lover but he was no longer beside him. Kou got up quickly and chased after the black figure before giving him a passionate kiss on the lips.
"I'll miss you," he said as he left the large house.
There is one more chapter left. You don't learn too much about Yukina, so I hope my Yukina is fine. He is kinda occ, I tried to keep him the same, and I don't know the managka's that Kisa works with.
