Chapter 21: Broken girl(Matthew West)

Yugi's POV

Today, I asked Yami to take me to the hospital.

"Why? Are you sick? Are you hurt? Are you ok?" Yami panicked.

"I'm fine! I want to visit some people. That's ok right?" I asked and We wandered down the halls to the breakfast hall.

"Uh, sure. This week is only for you, Yug'. Remember that." Yami smiled. His robe swished around at his feet.

When we got to the table, we quickly sat down.

"You're late, again." The king grumbled.

"Yes, father. I was busy tending to a few things with Yugi first. We have already fitted her for her royal dresses she will wear." Yami replied not facing his father.

Arguments came back and forth throughout the dinning hall. Seto, Set and the king barked back and forth about a few things before a group of words struck me hard.

"Yugi will die!"

I stood immediately. "What about me dying?" I shouted as I slammed my hands on the table.

"It strategy plans to distract the Council. We're just going to fake your death." Seto calmly replied.

"I'm not hungry anymore..." I turn away from the table and leave. Heba quickly caught up with outside in the halls.

"So, faked death huh? What do you think about that?" He asked smirking.

"I'm tired of them making decisions for me. I can handle the council on my own." I replied angrily.

"You know that you need Yami, even if you won't admit it. You're as stubborn as Mom was."

"YUGI!" Yami ran to us too fast for me to see him panting. "You... are you ready?"

"Yeah, let me just grab my bow."

"Hmm? Why do you need that?"

"I promised I'd show 'em."

"Who is them?"

"Don't ask. She'll never tell you. She'd kill me if I told too, so don't ask me." Heba answered for me.

We travelled back to Domino and decided to stay the night at his place here.

At the hospital, we climbed the stairs due to a broken elevator. Yami and finally offered to vamp-run us up to the right floor, after I have lost all of my breath.

"YUGI!" dozens of children crowded around me.

"You're so tall now!"

"You've gotten prettier!"

"She even has a boyfriend!"

"She's so lucky! He's so hot!"

"Heh, I missed you all so much! Have you been getting my letters?" I asked hugging each one.

"Yeah!" They chorused. We played around with balls and cards for hours. A girl pulled on my sleeve.

"You're leaving aren't you?"

"What?" I asked in disbelieve.

"You've never stayed this long before. I bet you're about to ditch us. Everyone does..." Tears fell from my eyes. She was too smart for her own good.

"Believe me, I wish I could live with you here, but I have to leave. Why don't I tell you a short story. Everyone go ahead and find a place to sit." Everyone did and stared at me.

"I was just like you. I had leukaemia like you do. I may not have had it as long as you do, but I went through the same problems you did. My friends left me, my family stopped visiting, and I lost hope. They all thought I'd die so they left me trying to forget about me. But, I told myself to prove them wrong. I'd grow stronger than I was before I had Leukaemia, and I did. I'm never going to do what they did to me. I won't be able to come and visit, but that doesn't me letters and phone calls are out of the question. We're family, and we always will be."

All the kids sniffled and hugged me. I swear I was going to cry myself if I never saw these faces again.

"I'll tell you what. I promise that I will visit once a year. I promise that much. I don't know how many other surprise visits I can mange, but you never know." I ruffled a few kids hair.

After sawing goodbye and leaving the hospital, Ymai and I were walking down the street to stay at his place.

"That was really nice of you to do. That wasn't even selfish at all. I guess I should suspect that from Yugi Muto, though." Yami chuckled.

"I love those kids. They were the closest thing I had to family, that is until I met you..." A blush streaked across my face.

"So, was it true that you had Leukaemia?"

"Yeah, I only had it for a few months, they may have it for year or two, unless it kills them first..."

"Mhmm..."

"You're zoning out on me again..." All the sudden, Yami shoved me to the ground.

"You owe me something in return for having to hang around kids all day." I did owe him but not for that. I owe him for saving my hyde all the time.

He nipped and licked at my ears and neck. He rubbed the nape of my neck them slowly bite down into it. I could feel his soft lips curl into a smile. I dozed off slowly into his arms. Just like I belong.

So? Good for a 21nd chapter? Eh, I almost cried myself!

Who would've thought Yugi had Leukaemia? I decided it would possibly shed a few tears... or not. *glares at fan girls squealing*

How can you squeal? Yugi is a girl right now?!

Any who, you know the drill, so I'll skip it for now except this...
